@@LDungeon omg that sucks :( there was a shiny Dratini event for community day fairly recently on Pokémon go, so you could ask people who play both when we have Pokémon home compatibility to trade you one

Wouldn't be surprised if this sorta thing happened ALL THE TIME in the game. I spent around 150'ish hours on my casual playthrough of Violet, and I found 12 random shines along the way. Can only imagine how many I missed in the background 'cause I wasn't ever specifically looking for any (literally just happened to notice the 12 out of the corner of my eye while rushing through the landscape)

@@kevscollectibels4936 that only would’ve worked if he had saved the second it spawned, but it spawned while he was in battle and then despawned immediately. Too fast to even save.

I was farming for a shiny Applin and a shiny Cyclizar ran into me and i managed to catch it :')
Must be a peace offering since i've had this exact thing happen to me once too at the start of the Applin hunt. Saw one walking in the distance and he despawned

They need to add a sound! I just happened to see the shiny scatterbug and got it
On one hand I like that there is no noise because it is more realistic, but on the other I hate it because I’m paranoid if a Pokémon is shiny or not so I check literally every Pokémon

the lighting engine tricked me once already. i thought a Mimikyu was shiny because it was in the shade.
Been tricked like that several times, Thankfully i have a shiny now, First zorua encounter and he was disguised as that smeargle 2.0s first stage, Zorua evolves into such a beautiful shiny.
All of the Mimikyu in that area look shiny lol
If you’re ever just getting locked into battle after battle during an outbreak or whatever, you can open the x menu, and Pokémon will pass right thru you, allowing you to look for shinies without getting thrown into a battle
The same thing happened to be with Finizen. Was in battle and saw the shiny in the background. I had even confidently saved before the battle but no matter how many times I reloaded it was gone.
Did you turn off autosave too?
What color was it? I wanna see a Shiny Finizen.

I felt that disappointment. Same thing, I'm in a middle of a battle when I noticed that the Hoppip at the back of the trainer is a shiny and not a Skiploom. I reloaded the game not realising I did not save there.

I found a shiny Pawmi whilst in battle, I was sweating thinking for sure it would despawn, but I managed to get it

This is why I shiny hunt for Veluza, they’ll always kill me
I've missed both a shiny Gyarados and another one I never got to see for this reason lol. The pokemon I'd sent out to farm an outbreak got the shiny sweat beads right before I got into a battle and it was gone before I even saw it :(

How do you know that there was a shiny if you never saw it? The game doesn’t make a sound when a shiny appears or when you get close to one.
@@turkey4802 I was using the autobattle feature. Thankfully it has a check to make sure whatever Pokémon you send out doesn't attack shiny Pokémon, which is this little sweat bead icon that appears beside their portrait in the bottom left of the screen.
So I was basically just training, letting my Pokémon clear out a group of Pokémon it was good on. I was running around to reset the spawns as well. Basically, I saw the sweat beads appear and knew it had found a shiny but accidently got stuck in a battle on the way to check it out and whatever it was had despawned by the time I had got there.
My personal story is just this week I was a few hours into cyclizar raids when I one finally spawned in... during the picnic start animation, meaning it was on screen for all of one second

Cyclizar and Varoom run around too fast for shiny hunting sometimes.
I saw a shiny bramblin, I confidently thought I picked the right one because it was my first time seeing it, boy was I wrong.. it despawned in front of my eyes.. oh the pain, would have been my first shiny in pokemon violet
My first shiny I saw was -that- cyclizar in that spot and I also lost it by it running past the screen while in battle and not able to find it afterwards
I ALMOST had a shiny fail, so i was doing online tera raids for herbas and failed to see a full odds shiny shroodle in front of me, i turned off my switch and took a break for a few hours, then came back and saw it just standing there lol, i was so happy it didnt despawn and luckily managed to catch it

The first shiny in the game I found was a stantler and the second I found it it ran out my render distance.
Me too, I misses a shiny cyclizar but eventually after 3 resets I got it

My shiny fail is when I encountered a shiny Snorlax in FR, but stupidly used Low Kick that one shot it 🥺

This pokemon..... They spawn and despawn so fast. I lost my first two, and with my second attempt I play dodge post of the time and caught two again. 😩

How tf u nuke one when grinding, yeah there’s no sound in the overworld but the sparkles and sound is pretty obvious in battle 😂
@@blakenewall By sending the pokemon out to beat them in the overworld and walking to the next group. I aint about to individually battle each wild pokemon.

found a shiny rolycoly, paused to save but haha this game is so troll the game doesn’t pause when you press X so as i was literally in the middle of saving, the shiny disappeared and i couldn’t re load to get it
The save respawn from Legends is in this game too.
Actual spawns work nothing like legends in this game so that doesn’t matter at all lol

Haha tell me about it, currently at 6k REs for a shiny Tandemaus (that's only accounting for this pokemon and not the Igglybuffs and Fidoughs), and I honestly don't even know at this point if I missed out on the shiny already because the re-and-despawn radius is pretty...terrible.
Just auto battle your Pokemon wont knock out a shiny

Just load up a save save when you a encounter a shiny which means turn off auto save when you spawn in the shiny will always be there because the shiny was already decided to be there before it spawned in which means no matter what the same Pokémon will always be shiny also let’s go battle feature they made it so where you can’t know our a shiny Pokémon also it just went off screen go in the same direction as it did it should respawn
I don’t know which UA-camr you watched to think this is accurate in this situation but it’s not at all lol
@@TheSupremeRk9s well going off the assumption that you might have auto save on you could of loaded that save go to the same spot and waited for the shiny
