Yeah surely, if you're running around shooting at tiny Blacktail 350 yards away. Other commenters have touched on this, but the beauty of this show, is that it’s real. He shows the misses, the bad hits, the guilt and anger you feel as a hunter. And the overall struggle that makes the experiences and success worth it. Show’d my girlfriend, who’s never hunted, doesn’t have a single family member immediate or extended that hunts or fishes. And she loved the show, and has a new found respect for the sport!!! That’s all because of how well put together these episodes are, and how eloquently Steve describes all aspects of hunting!
“You want this wildness to become a part of you...” very well said Steve. Thank you for being such a fine spokesman for us hunters. Lovin the background music too.
I love that the show has always stayed true since the very first episode! Steven is, by far, the best hunting personality out there today! So much knowledge and respect for the game he hunts and the people he meets and shares his trips with.
The best outdoors show I have had the pleasure to watch. First picked it up on Netflix and then started scouring for more. Steve, thanks for keeping it real man! Your character and insights make the show something special.
Try watching the hunting public a lot more entertaining gun hunting is very boring. I go gun hunting to its very boring bowhunting is a lot more entertaining to watch.
The first reason I love this show is because I was raised to hunt for my family not my wall and it’s good to see a guy on a show who doesn’t only trophy hunt. I’ve been retired for over a decade now from hunting due to personal reasons but I’m itching to get back into it!!!
For all those concerned about flying and hunting on the same day...from page 19 of the 2020-2021 Alaska Hunting Regulations guide: "You may hunt deer the same day airborne (provided you are 300 feet from the airplane)." Could have been different 10 years ago but I'm pretty sure Rinella knows his stuff in regards to the regs.
Started watching this show on youtube a few days ago and I’ve been hooked since. It’s crazy interesting seeing how much more comfortable the camera-people get throughout the episodes. The shake on the kill shot is something you never see in newer seasons, and it was the first time I realized how freaky it must be trying to focus on that animal without knowing when a gunshot will happen 10 feet from you lol. Such an amazing show though, everything about it is exactly as it should be
I started on the newer seasons, but I sort of like the feel of these older episodes better. Less scripted, less fancy gear. Just feels more visceral and real.
I like the way you are thinking and conversing with yourself... Every second of your thinking is reflected with your eye movements..... THE BEST HUNTER I've come across on UA-cam

Me and my 11 year old son love your videos I used the Netflix download feature on my phone your videos were playing in the stand while he harvested his second Northern Minnesota whitetail last weekend beautiful moment and proud Dad the venison is even more delicious knowing my Son helped provide for his family
I lived in Sitka for almost 7 years. Lived off of Black Tail, Halibut, Black Bear, Salmon, and so forth. Sitka Black Tail, next to Moose, is the best tasting game out there imo.
The cooking and eating portion of “Meat Eater” is absolutely what makes it my favorite hunting show. When I see a shooter deer my mouth waters a little, every time! Weird? Maybe, but true!
That's not weird, at least not in TN, my family always defined a trophy buck as a freezer filler. My dad passed up a ten point buck last year because it was skinny and shot a heavyweight forkhorn.
One thing I can see between young Steven and old Steven in late season is you don't rush to hunt like this. I like it when you arrive at the hunting site then spend a couple days tracking or watching animals before you shoot.
What gets me is how humble he is about hunting. He shows his failures as much as he shows his successes. And he always talks about the meat, not how awesome it will look on his wall. People need to realize that there are different types of hunters.
He is a lot less humble on the podcast. I like the shows he puts out and the people that work with him, but, on the podcast, he comes across as a self important asshole. I much prefer Clay Newcomb's podcast "Bear Grease".
Love the content. Steve Rinella is great guy. So informative, interesting and the places he goes are so so so beautiful. Thank you. I have never been hunting in my life. I'm from London far it is a dream that one day I could hunt as this guy Steve Rinella does. Out in the Wilds!! ❤❤❤

I have been hunting for 26 years, and the component most hunters miss is the consumption and processing of game in the field. There is no better ending.
I like how the show has changed to reflect the people, and not the other way around. These early seasons, while great, while head and shoulders above the rest, pandered to the audience of the channel that broadcast it. Now that they are on Netflix, it seems like it is more their own, and I enjoy that. Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but either way, I like the direction they went with the show.
Man it must be so demoralizing to hike the wet and rain for two days and then miss the biggest Buck you’ve ever seen. Really cool how you didn’t let it get you down and were rewarded for your patience and good attitude.
