How to replace handbrake shoes Volvo 740 and 940 Part 1 disassemble

This is a how to Volvo guide that shows you howto replace handbrake shoes and surrounding parts on Volvo 740 and 940. First step is to loosen the handbrake adjuster from the handbrake. This is located in the center back of the backseat.
Next step is to unbolt the brake caliper. 3:rd step can be a little tricky if the brake rotor is ceased and rusty. Use a hammer to loosen the rotor.
When you released the brake rotor you need to bend off the springs for the handbrake shoes. And finally we going to replace the holder for the handbrake shoes.
This is part 1 of 2 in this video. In this part we disassemble the handbrake shoes and surrounding parts. The 2 part we bolt our new parts on the Volvo.

kan tillägga att det finns två plast flikar under askkoppen, dessa går att vika upp medans du drar lätt på panelen, då lossar den utan man repar interiören.
sen kan man använda hålet som är i navet till att köra med hylsa och mutterknack för att få loss bromssko hållarna.

Thanks. Got the yearly inspection coming 9th of January and the E-brake on my 940 is almost non-existant. Fixed the cable joint/mount on the rear axle today but didn't help much. Needs adjustment and i didn't know how to access it. Thanks for the vid. i hope it'll work after tuning.

@@arvid_lind_0777 It did. I eyeballed the cable joint/mount on the rear axle out of sheet metal so the e-brake wasn't perfectly balanced on both sides but it did work well enough for the car to pass inspection.
