I took fiddle lessons at his music studio over on El Camino Ave. Its surprising how many country stars ended up in Sacramento

If Merle was a ballplayer he'd be Willie Mays. He could do it all. He is really missed. Great artist... great man... and a good man.

Country music is now just a bunch of Top 40 bubblegum with lyrics to match. Gone are the days of GOOD Country.

I took up fiddling at age 60. Love the music and people I have met in the old time fiddlers group. This video is great because a bunch of really great fiddlers let a little kid shine. Keep up the good work.

This is just great.I had no idea Haggard played fiddle but he was a big Bob Wills fan.The kid is great too.My late grandfather played hoe downs back in southwestern Missouri as a kid.He played until he died in the early '70s.I took it up in the early sixties, then switched to band.Aside from a short course in it when I was a music major,I laid it down until some ten years ago.I've been a Bob Wills fan since I was around 11 years ago.

The tune that Johnny Gimble plays is pretty much what I play as "Sweet Cream And Peaches".

Saw this on a re-run of Pop Goes the Country, Tiger Bell can hold his own with the greats, like the Osbornes. Merle said he knew about 400 songs on the fiddle. Where is he today, cause Pop Goes the Country was from my teen yrs.

There was once a young boy who could fiddle with the best of em. He traveled far and wide entertaining the masses with his awesomeness on his fiddle. The music he played was like sex for your ear holes. But alas the people grew tired of the boy and his fiddle. They yearned for something new. The boy, now a man, was cast aside and forgotten. He turned to whiskey and drugs to ease the pain. They found the once beloved fiddle boy dead one morning clutching his fiddle. That boy was me.

Great musicians. I'll still go with Mark O'Connor though.
It isn't a competition. I've seen Tiny Moore about 8 times and he was excellent.
But still, I'll go with Mark O'Connor.
