- The Strategic Homeland Division (SHD), referred to as "The Division", is a classified unit of highly trained, self-supported tactical agents who live unobtrusively among us.
The main objective of The Division is to ensure the continuity of government in the case of a catastrophic emergency.
Released in waves, Division agents are activated when all other forms of public protection have failed. They are the last line of defense.
But what brought about the creation of the Division in the first place?

Critically underrated channel. I guess its due to the lack of interest in the game itself. But keep it up man, your vids add/enhance so much of the lore for the series. The gameplay may get stale but the story and premise is actually pretty awesome... and ominous since it could easily become true. Here's hoping The Division 2 turns out great and you keep a strong audience.

A new directive was passed recently by the Department of Homeland Security, known as FCD-1, or Federal Continuity Directive One, which supersedes Directive 40 and Directive 51. All annexes are public in this, and there seem to be more checks and balances in the new directive.

The division is actually based on a real part of the new york police department from 9/11/01 until it was disbanded on 9/11/13. There was a unit based on it that is now a part of the US Marshals... With out the shade tech.

Imo the cities after pandemics would be in total anarchy after a pandemic which would mean the need for heavy military force to restore any order. Also i wonder how are any resources being produced in the world of division (food, gas, weapons and ammoe etc...) if society has crumbled from the pandemic.
It would be an extreme scenario where a society devolve into complete chaos to a point where the authority can't possibly regain control.
Just look at Hong Kong during SARS, Africa during Ebola, or the Spanish Flu pandemic, in fact the Spanish Flu is one of the reason why WW1 ended earlier. Black death reduced the population of Europe to around ~30million, even still the authority existed, no total anarchy.
It's just not possible for a virus/bacteria to infect enough people for the pandemic to be self-substaining considering the length of their incubation periods.
For Ebola, the spread is localised, a lot of people died, but it consists of many separate group of people in different countries, it doesn't take out an entire city like the Green Poison does.
@@humanbeing9079 i was saying that it would require lots of military power to take back cities which would likely be in anarchy after a pandemic imo. There would still be some kind of control by the goverment.
Black Tusk seem perfectly capable of handling shit, they have carriers to get them out around the world. The fact they can sale the oceans and realistically most of America's exported gasoline is cultivated off shore, we don't even pump our own gas really.

Gotta love Tom Clancy taking real world elements and putting a fantastic spin on everything. Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Division... it's all the same universe.

You forgot the cold war nato unit, operation Manchurian, essentially they were a two form unit, one side they were designed to launch attacks on civilian targets using opposite faction's weapons and gear to influence tension and to be an wetworks cell to defend the nation in case of an major event, metal gear Solid v's XOF is inspired by them and russia's mythical unit nicknamed black death by the SS

Education is treated differently outside of the US.
I mean we already have the capability of having small autonomous teams working among the population, even in hostile or denied territory; applying knowledge of governance, economics, and politics to affect human behavior and work towards strategic goals. They can perform these duties in uniform or in plain clothes. They work in 80 countries creating networks of formal and informal leaders. Currently these soldiers do this outside the US. However, if an event like the dollar flu in the division happened, their skill set could be used within the US if Posse Comitatus is no longer in effect.

I always thought the SHD was a militaristic offshoot of the DHS (Department of Homeland Security). Their acronym is DHS backwards, they have "Homeland" in their name, and just like DHS, their purpose is to protect their country.

LOL nope, I changed platforms about 300 hours game time ago.
I think I'm sitting on about 4,000 on the Xbox, and a little over 3,000 on PC.
NGN Gaming hey I’ve enjoyed all your videos on this game, I love the lore of the division since 2013 and since the game has came out your videos made the story 10x better it just sucks you don’t have so many views on these videos hopefully when Division 2 comes around you get the recognition you deserve from all the effort you put into this I also had a idea for you
When division 2 comes out instead making lore videos when you figure everyone has finished the game instead make lore videos as you progress through the missions and for each mission progress into the lore the more information and details from side missions that would be very cool but if you do have time into your hands and manage to finish the game in like 2 days then you can just keep doing what you are doing but if you do take what I said into consideration to keep a pace to not spoil the game if some people have not finished the same missions yet you can name your video the missions name.

Giving that division 1 has 20 main missions and countless sides if division 2 comes out with just about 20 you can make a video explaining the lore after you finished a particular mission in order and after about 5 missions you completed if you run through side missions and get some more information and or hints, theories etc you can recap the 5 missions, additionally the side missions and or just information found to progress your journey into the lore/game

Sadly, Clancy didn't write this.
The Division was given the Tom Clancy title because it is more story driven than other franchises.
Some would say that this isn't true with the Division, and that it's lacking in this area. But I would disagree. The depth of story is certainly there, it's just not laid out in front of you in an easy/obvious run through as Clancy games of the past.

See why wasn’t this kind of story and information in the actual story mode game. Unless it was and I missed it all. I thought the story and opening cinematic were awesome and then the story fell off and I went from fighting cool cleaners to just fighting a whole military
