I miss Rick Valassi in Division 2, it just ain't the same without Wouldn't You Know It on the radio
The lore of The Division is so deep and so good. If done right, it would me a hell of a movie. Rick Valassi was such a great vehicle in the game to convey what the citizens were thinking.
Apparently it will be a movie. Although I've seen it on IMDB for about a year. And Jake Gyllenhaal is on the cast list!! I hope it doesn't get canceled.
Jessica chastising was also casted for a role..... last I heard they are trying to get the script movie worthy, might be a couple of years before we see this in theaters
Luckily we are getting one (sometimes).

I love Valassi, I like to stand in the terminal next to the radio so I can hear him clearly. Everytime he comes on I stop what I'm doing so I can listen to him. His character is so good I'm glad Ubi gave this universe a paranoid insomniac that hates the government. He better be in the division 2 I can't imagine him not being in the game.
I always loved listening to him when I was busy either checking out a safe house or chilling at the Base of Operations, the man has a lot of good points and always kept me entertained. Nothing like listening to a regular person in a game/event like this

I was talking to my friend about valassi and I think he is working with keener. Like Ruth said he appeared when the pandemic started. He knew what to say to rally people behind him and giving keeners position was probably a way to distract the factions that were looking for Keener and so they can both escape Manhattan and head for DC

Irvine M He sounds nothing like Keener. Rick is a typical Italian Nee Yorker, he has much milder voice while Aaron’s voice is deep and husky turning raspy when he’s angry; i’d agree that they work together, or knowing Aaron’s charisma, Rick got tricked or forced into cooperation, but they are def not the same person
This video even got me thinking in an Ace-Ventura-Einhorn-is-Finkle twist, maybe Keener IS Valassi! He's already shown the ability to manipulate Shade Tech to disguise his face in an echo file, ALWAYS thinks he's the smartest person in the room, crazy lady was ADAMANT that Valassi was not who he claimed to be, & if Keener has even a shred of Seth McFarlane's talent then he could easily disguise his voice (or do it through the use of a voice box). Certainly wouldn't be the most outlandish revelation if it turned out to be true in D2...
In WoNY expansion in the division 2, after keener is killed, the ending cutscene includes valassi speaking on the radio. So, sadly no.

I love straight forward lore videos like this. When you're playing the game you can't always just sit there and listen to everything you pick up. Even if you do it may not be in a linear order towards the over all story. Thank you for this!
I'm starting to realize that there was some pretty juicy stuff on those audio files that you can find down in the Underground. I honestly didn't really listen to them, and now I'm starting to wish I had paid more attention to them. Well done sir.

I believe that Rick V was working for someone in the JTF who is also working for Keener. It’s always somehow connected but it’s also always a plot twist behind it too

I just started D2 ! I have to say these videos are super helpful in understanding WTF is going on . There very well done and I am really digging the lore
I think it's more likely that Keener and Valassi are either actively working together (rather than manipulation) or they are the same person with Aaron Keener's last message in wsp as a way to show the truth of either possibility to the division agent who finds it.

Thanks so much for putting all this lore together into an entertaining video. I only recently got Division 1, and intending to get Division 2 soon, after SkillUp's part 2 review of the endgame. The Division franchise is so good, and although I understand the community want more out of the story, there are so many concepts, and so much lore for them to play with, they could take it in so many exciting directions. I'm going to look into whether Aaron Keener actually makes an appearence in Division 2, as I've not heard much about him yet, but your videos are highlighting a lot of concepts I may have overlooked during the juicy grind. Looking forward to your future content.

I miss spawning into the terminal or safe house and being welcomed in by Rick valise before the game Fades in, it made his voice was perfect for the game, and without him in div 2 feels like something’s missing

Rick Valassi, to my mind, is a super market tabloid reporter. BUT what is this creep into? Valassi is a crank but what is it that he has that scared Ruth so much? I have a feeling that NYC has more mysteries and we left it a bit to prematurely. But I guess that's another mystery to add to the pile, like the hunters and Aaron Keeners location. I mean there are something's in newyork that don't sit right with me. Like how could the JTF loose control of the Dark zone so quickly? They were amply supplied, unless someone sabataged it. And the first wave being activated early? Something is NOT right in paradise. And I don't like not knowing.

Valassi is a great addition to the game. While he's absolutely right about the Division Agents and Bliss, he's so off the mark when it comes to the cleaners that it makes the world seem that much more realistic. The Cleaners are just blue-collar workers fed up with everything, and their spirits broke. Valassi has at least enough hope in humanity left to assume that isn't possible, and fabricates this idea that the Cleaners are also part of some government cover-up plot.
Easily the best character in the game. Shame he wasn't in dvision 2
He does have at least one radio broadcast. After finishing WLONY I heard him on a radio at a safe house saying "thanks for de-worming the big apple"

Seriously... this game, this story, would make a hell of a series! Ok, hear me out. First, a feature length movie that covers everything from the virus release through to the overwhelming of hospitals, the breakdown of order... and then the first wave of agents. IN THIS... it would be REALLY COOL if an appearance of Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell was there too, but not as a central role- in the periphery. Like the FBI arriving in some movie about a single cop taking down a group of terrorists (Die Hard). Hell, even Ghost Recon could be in there in some capacity. Either way...
After the movie, the tv series (Hello Netflix/Amazon/Hulu) can begin and follow some Division Agents as they try to hold the US together. It doesn’t even have to use NYC as the setting, pick somewhere else. Seattle, LA, Chicago... or NYC. I’m ok with that, but you’d just be watching the live action of exactly the game you just played- mission for mission. Boring. Pick somewhere not covered in the games so that the content of the show is new and interesting. Make references to the games in the show- Update how Manhattan is doing, talk about troubles in DC. Make the world feel connected, but have the story entirely new.
He sounds much like Curtis Sliwa, an anti-crime activist with his own radio show, and CEO of the Guardian Angels who are devoted to expose crimes in New York that the NYPD turn a blind eye to.

always thought rick was a puppet for keener, he was just dead set on makin the agents look bad, in line with keener goals, and he had lil bit too much knowledge on agents, could just be plot holes but..

The best thing is to take this scenario and think how it would happen in real life. I just found out in an event of total collapse the bill of rights declaration of independence and the constitution will be taken to a secured military base for preservation. Or at least thats the "Official" story ;)

Well we do have a close version of this in a movie maybe not the post apocalyptic US but shows how a simple and very deadly disease could spread and nearly destroy a whole town. The movie I'm talking about is "Outbreak" with Dustin Hoffman and Morgan Freeman very good movie spooking af and well worth watching
