God, I never knew Tony had a child. David, God bless you, Tony was a beautiful player and a wonderful gentleman, with such a lovely wife and so much potential. So terribly terribly sad.

ysgol3 thank you.But my Dad was married once before he married Betty, who passed with him in the plane crash. My mom didn't want to raise me on the road and she raised me on her own until she met my step father,Fred Who is a great man himself.Check Champagne Tony Lema on FB and see a nice photo of her and Tony at my Batisim.Nice to meet Lema's Legion' supporters!

David - Many thanks for the reply, if you're ever in South Wales and fancy a game of golf on a championship links which has hosted the British PGA twice, let me know, a game with you on my home course would be a real pleasure, and I bet you're nearly as good as your dad on true links courses. PS On the film of the 1966 US Open here on UA-cam, Tony seems to be using a lighter coloured blade putter from the Arnold Palmer ( I think !) one he used to win our Open in 1964. Is that true do you know, and do you therefore have his 'Open winning' putter ? Best wishes from Wales.

I just watched Tony's HAZEL episode rerun on FETV. I'm sorry to read about his passing just 1 1/2 years after the episode was originally aired on NBC. His is a story about overcoming & triumph, and it's a shame it ended when he was so young.

Hello David! My name is James. I'm 30 and been a huge fan of Tony ever since I first learned of his career. He is by far one of my favorite golfers and I've started buying/collecting anything I can find on him. I never knew he had a son until today. So sorry for your loss! Thanks for sharing this video as I have never seen it before.

Lema had a female pilot who forgot to check the gas gauge before she took off. She ran out of gas and tried to land on the golf course he was to play but couldn't do it. all dead because of her carelessness.
