[NOTE: I discovered the NS 1600 Nō. 107 while researching Edward’s basis. I found out that it nearly looked EXACTLY like Edward, but with several differences. That’s the reason why I made Edward a Dutch Engine in my own personal Headcanon.]
In my headcanon, Edward was a regular k2 (specifically no. 22/45) built in February 2, 1896 (could be wrong on this), had troubles during winter of 1900, like trying to deliver a water wheel only to get distracted by the attention of random people, which leads to him making boneheaded decisions that lead to the water wheel cutting loose and nearly getting cut up for scrap had Edward not get there in time, dealt with Albert's boasting for a few weeks, loses one of his crankpins while pulling the Furness' express, was towed by Albert to the works while another engine took his train, only for Albert to get stupid by pushing his luck and dashing through an avalanche at the valley, which he continues to be a daredevil and attempt to cut off another avalanche at the end of the tunnel (emphasis on attempt), and Edward had to wait a while for another engine to rescue them (which one did), then in 1908, Edward along with eagle, Albert, 4 d1's, and an l4 named Carter were loaned to sodor to help with the merger for the North Western railway which would open in October 9, 1912, thou the Furness showed no real desire to get Edward and eagle back, so they just stayed on sodor with eagle getting purchased in 1913 and Edward getting forgotten about, until 1923, when 2 men named Charlie and Sydney fired him up and took him on an day out. Edward did so well, Sir topham hatt decided to buy him from the Furness, in which the Furness agreed to. Then a few weeks later, Gordon refused to try to get up the hill so Edward had to push him up, and after he did, Charlie promised to give Edward a nice sky blue coat with red lining (thou Edward wouldn't gain his number and plaque til 1925(and did I forget to mention he got his own branchline at brendam when he was purchased?)). Then he was rebuilt into an ns 1600 after his famous exploit in 1963.
Interesting headcanons and AU thing going on. I like it when other people share their headcanons and AUs. Narrow Gauge Great Waterton is a pretty cool take on it. Here's my headcanons on the same topics: Great Waterton: Is the rough English translation of Ustyn Moarin. It was a fairly populated town northwest of Peel Godred, and was served by the Cronk and Harwick Railway. The main industries were logging and mining, although the mining industry was short-lived. One of the engines that served on the line was Lady, who was designed and built by the C&HR. After the logging company was bought out by a competitor and shut down, the town's population flocked to other towns for work, mainly Peel Godred. The old logging yards were repurposed into a Military of Defense ammunition base after the outbreak of war in 1939, but was non-standard and considered dangerous, so when the slate mine on the Skarloey Railway shut down, the base was re-located there, abandoning the town once again. Some urban explorers have since documented the town, although it's abandoned still to this day. Proteus: Was an engine that worked on the Mid-Sodor Railway, originally the number 4. He arrived with his brothers Falcon and Albert, and they replaced two American locomotives (Alfred and Atlas) that were unable to fit the loading gauge of the railway. In 1917, Proteus fell off a bridge going over the River Arle near Cas-ny-Hawin, and, unfortunately, was unable to be saved. The story would later be told to Duncan by Duke (instead of Rusty). A statue of Proteus would be built after a heritage railway was established on the remaining trackbead of the MSR (Arlesdale to King Orry's Bridge). Billy: Is an engine that worked on the Wellsworth and Suddery Railway. He was a friendly engine, and was hard-working. He would become NWR stock, although like all the other pre-amalgamation locomotives, he would retain his old livery (Carmine Red). Throughout the years, however, he would get more and more sour. He was still hard-working, true, but he wasn't a fan of new ways of doing things, and was especially disgusted at the sight of BoCo. When Thomas was briefly allocated to the Brendam Branch (during Thomas and the Twins), the two quarreled for days on how to do things, with Billy calling Thomas a "Bossy, fake, brevet mutton shunter", whilst Thomas wanted to help. At last, Thomas had enough with trying to help Billy, and let him do whatever. A few days later, Billy would cause an accident near Suddery. He then agreed to learn about modern practice, and ditch the old ways he was accustomed to. He's now accustomed to the safer standards, and was happy again, although the fans constant hate on his TV persona causes him some resentment that lingers to this day. Self-driving engines: Do not exist. All engines on the island have crews and cannot move on their own. If an engine is moving on their own, then it's a runaway situation caused by careless people. Stephen Hatt: Like the Railway Series, succeeds his father, Charles, in becoming the third Fat Controller. He also succeeds the baronetcy after Charles dies, becoming Sir Stephen Topham Hatt, 3rd Baronet (or simply, Sir Stephen Topham Hatt III). He's still controller as of 2022, and although there are rumors that he could be retiring within the year, he hasn't personally stated any intentions of doing so. M.C. Bunn: Was founded in 1955 by Michael Chandler, aka. Mr. Bunn, and would source most of his ingredients from local farms, namely from Farmer Finney and Farmer McColl. During Duck's rescue from his crash in 1957, Sir Charles Topham Hatt would enter the store for a rest, and after trying the food, he would decide to invest money into the company, and buy a 5% share in the company, stipulating that a store should be opened within Tidmouth Station. Since then, the company would grow, with more stores being established throughout southwest Sodor, thanks to The Fat Controller's investment and to newfound popularity as brought upon by the Tidmouth Station location. The stores are still renowned today locally and internationally thanks to them still using fresh ingredients sourced locally. Stephen still owns the 5% share to this day. God, my brain hurts. But hey, that's what you get for trying to build out a whole AU when you're bored. I have a bunch more, but I've written so much right now that I have to sleep. Again, nice video.
Thanks for the feedback and those are some amazing headcanons. I love the lore you came up with for M.C. Bunn and how it ties into Duck’s crash. Also your take on narrow gauge great waterton is so cool
Head Canon : Emily used to live and work on the island before and after the North Western railway was formed. And was the first engine to pull the excess, this made her a little bossy she later realised it this was the reason none the other engines wanted to be talk with her ( eccept for then arrival named Edward), but due to some reason the Fat director never said, she had to be sold to a railway on the mainland, and so she left the island, before Gordon ever arrived. Then at some point years after this, the Fat controller found her, and discovered she once worked on the island and his gradad sold her, but unfortunately she doesn't remember much of from that time due to a recent accident where she lost some of her memories. So he decided to buy her and bring her back to the island once more. (which is why she seems unexperienced when she returns to the island)
Headcannon: In 1915, Sodor had a coal crisis, after the midland railway sent them 300 bags of bad coal. And the reason Henry stopped in the tunnel, was a combination of; Vanity, and his pipes clogging up due to excess ash, and they walled him up due to reparing fees being too expensive.
I like the idea of engines having to take a driving test to prove they can operate without a crew if needed. It may also explain why Mighty Mac and Freddie’s crew are never seen.
Heres my one which will explain Molly's disappearance from the CGI series: After the events of the great discovery, Molly was sent to a railway on the mainland. The railway had once been run by Oliver and many other engines before being dieselized, and to celebrate the railways 80th birthday, she was asked to test the idea of bringing steam back to the line! After the test, they celebrated the railways 80th birthday and Molly stayed as its main passenger train
I like your headcanons. Especially the driving test one. I also love that Thomas and Percy are banned for this test😂 Great Waterton with narrow gauge track makes sense but how would Thomas have discovered the town if there was only a narrow gauge track? Also: "Yeah, lets burn down a café for fun." -Expressbean64 2022
Thanks I should’ve mentioned it in the video but in this AU Thomas wouldn’t had been the one to discover great waterton. If I make a part 2 then I’ll probably go more in debt with this.
In My Headcanon Brenda The Stirling Single Engine Has Emily's Season 8-16 Personality Because She Can Be Bossy, Fussy, Rebellious, Bratty, Rude, Impatient, Naggy, Drama Queen, Mary Sue, Whiny, Immature, Self-Righteous, Disrespectful To Others And Many More In Season 8-16 And Also She Was Working With Alfred/98462 And Crovan/87546 And They Are Bullying Thomas, Emily, Edward, Neil, Glynn And Many More And Then She Was Scrapped In 1930s After She Was Sent Away From The Island Of Sodor In 1920s
Headcannon: James originally came to the NWR as a regular L&YR Class 28. But it says he is a prototype version. When did this change occur? Well, after James’ famous crash, the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway (where James was originally from) got word of one of their old Class 28’s having a crash and needed repairs. They offered the NWR the money for the repairs IF they rebuilt James to the prototype design, due to the fact the L&Y didn’t want to make an engine, not have the results they wanted, and just have a failed prototype sitting around, as it was officially. Confusing? Yes
On of my head cannon is that Sir Toppem hat wanted Stevenson’s Rocket, as it would fit for the what was then, Ulfstead Castle, and he used to work there But they couldn’t, so they built a replica, but was an idea that came to Toppem’s brain and the next day he forgot he had commissioned it, and it was from Barrow Works, many days later, an engine came to check of it was safe as a fire happened, he found Steven and Sir Toppem hat never told Steven he was a replica, as he was worried that he would have a identity crisis, Steven did find out and did have one, he got over it but there would be an episode, of him having his crisis and that was one of my Head Cannons
3:29, that would explain things like mighty mac not having a crew on its first apearance, it came from a shunting yard, probably on the mainland, they could pass the driving test, and that explains why though they were very conflictive with their other half, they had no driver, because they knew very well the shunting yard, they could work together
I have an AU with wild headcanons too, from a separate fleet of engines operating on Sodor, to an American Narrow Gauge Railroad operating on the island and Scott (Flying Scotsman) being saved from America by Sir Topham. Here are some of the ones related to yours. I too have self-driving engines (inspired by Victor Tanzig), there is no Great Waterton, but there is a Seaside town named Waterton located between Arlesburgh and Harwick (also inspired by Victor Tanzig). My Billy has a completely different personality, and he works with his brother Charlie as a pilot at Tidmouth (Railway Series Tidmouth).
One headcanon I have is where Toby never arrived on sodor, because of that Thomas had to get side plates and cow catchers, also because of that Bertram was never found and James never got into an accident with tar tankers, then after that mavis would be stuck at the crossing for a few days because Thomas wasn’t strong enough and Percy wasn’t allowed up to the quarry
My own headcanon I got: A red engine which is seen in the Railway series. Name is eagle and he’s is James’s step or half brother. Why? His class is sort and James’s class are same. Also, he left sodor for sometime and would come back later. He would meet James again. Yes in my canon they did meet at least once. Before he came back That’s the head canon I got.
I think calling great Waterton as the capital is just a tad bit broken. It’s sort of makes sense being at one of you like only cities on Sodor, but still something about it just doesn’t feel right.

So i headcanon that: Thomas was actually built as a J50(The original drawing of Thomas) But do to an Accident he had,he was repaired that made him look like an E2(this is possible cause Henry was also repaired and made him look like an E2),But when he crashed into the stationmaster's house,He suggested to have a flat running board, becasue he missed kinda being an E2. Also no wonder he was green in adventure begins,J50 were also green(atleast some) the only thing this makes my headcanon flip that the LBSC in his old paintwork(but idc let's ignore that cuz yes)

Head Canon :
Emily used to live and work on the island before and after the North Western railway was formed.
Then at some point years after this, the Fat controller found her, and discovered she once worked on the island and his gradad sold her,
but unfortunately she doesn't remember much of from that time due to a recent accident where she lost some of her memories. So he decided to buy her and bring
her back to the island once more.
Good headcannon but the lms was formed in 1923
So wouldn't it be the midland railway??
@@AmazingAonYT fixed it.
Calm
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of something like this! Yours is definitely way better then mine.
I respect your headcanon for the history of Great Waterton.
I like the idea of engines having to take a driving test to prove they can operate without a crew if needed. It may also explain why Mighty Mac and Freddie’s crew are never seen.
Bertram is Dukes brother but mid sodor didn’t need 4 engines, so was sent to the mines where he stayed until Toby found him.
I also love that Thomas and Percy are banned for this test😂
Great Waterton with narrow gauge track makes sense but how would Thomas have discovered the town if there was only a narrow gauge track?
Also: "Yeah, lets burn down a café for fun." -Expressbean64 2022
Thanks
I should’ve mentioned it in the video but in this AU Thomas wouldn’t had been the one to discover great waterton. If I make a part 2 then I’ll probably go more in debt with this.
@@expressbean64 if Thomas did not Discover it who did
Lowkey surprised James wasn’t banned either
Confusing? Yes
Thomas and Percy being banned from the test is actually hilarious 😭 I feel like James would also be banned as well
It would be amazing to see a video analizing the anatomy of non-faceless engines
I love your headcanons!
One of mine is Diesel 10 had Pinchey fitted by P.T Boomer
Love a good tatmr headcanon
@@expressbean64 thanks! As do I TATMR headcanons are a lot of fun
On of my head cannon is that Sir Toppem hat wanted Stevenson’s Rocket, as it would fit for the what was then, Ulfstead Castle, and he used to work there
But they couldn’t, so they built a replica, but was an idea that came to Toppem’s brain and the next day he forgot he had commissioned it, and it was from Barrow Works, many days later, an engine came to check of it was safe as a fire happened, he found Steven and Sir Toppem hat never told Steven he was a replica, as he was worried that he would have a identity crisis, Steven did find out and did have one, he got over it but there would be an episode, of him having his crisis and that was one of my Head Cannons
One of my headCannons is Neville works on the Ffarquar branch line to pull really heavy trains from Knapford to Ffarquar and vice versa
In My Headcanon Mungo The BR Class 37 Diesel Was Arrived On Sodor In 1972 To Worked On The Main Line For North Western Railway
In My Headcanon Misty Island Has Both Standard Gauge And Narrow Gauge Railway And Railroad
Before he came back
That’s the head canon I got.
I think calling great Waterton as the capital is just a tad bit broken. It’s sort of makes sense being at one of you like only cities on Sodor, but still something about it just doesn’t feel right.
Naw I get you. I just like it being the capital since they did nothing with great waterton so I just wanted to make a fun little spin on it.
