Within the documentation I see no mention of localisation/auto-translation. In my case it would be very useful to be able to write in French and get an answer in French (with an automatic translation to English as the middle man).
Good question and I'm not sure. It'd need to be done on Inworld AI's side with different languages being generated and provided as an option. Because localisation in side of Unreal is a very manual process. It's in a pretty early stage so I'm sure as it grows looking at new languages will be a pretty high priority to grow adoption.
@Nathan Yu yes text only would be amazing. I've talked about that video to my public (my 7 yo daughter for whom I'm developing a game), she got equally as excited to be able to type anything as she was disappointed she couldn't do it in her mother tongue... It would definitely be a great addition for adoption, the feature I mean, not my daughter
Do you have any idea how to retarget the characters to custom characters. I feel like this should be easy but it seems impossible here when I try it. Also there's no documentation on how to build the chat panel.
It sounds so rough and the thing is with AI that it lacks personailty. I would rather have a paid actor with feelings in what they say. Thats my opinion, however AI can surve for many other nice features in games in the future!
Generated voices have become quite good in the last years... but wow, those generated voices sound so awefull... Not just language itself, but there is also static and audio noise in the background. Like a robo voice, but recorded with a 5$ mic in a living room. Some words are just plain wrong. E.g. most can't say "chicken"... they say "chicke" or "chitte". I'd rather read text boxes than listening to that in a game.
yeah definitely agree, which is why I thought it was worth mentioning. I saw an interesting video showing the potential of using an AI generated voice to read UA-cam scripts and it can replicate much more satisfying voices to listen to. Could be good for someone with a tone like me 😅. For now I'd still be happy to use something like this and just utilise the text for text boxes but it's still in the early stages so who knows what voice options we might get.
Really great video and very interesting on the potential future of NPCs!
Thanks. It's exciting to see where things like this can go. Plenty of potential as you said.
This is mind blowing to see!

@@DevEnabled We're focused on English for now, but may add additional languages in the future.

Hello, i have a question, it's possible to speak another language whit these NPCs like Francais, Deutsh, ect ?
Is these NPCs need internet to work?

This is the worst it will be at this time tech like this only improves with time

incredible
Everyone gotta make money I guess but can't respect someone selling out to AI. Enjoyed your stuff but this is an ez unsub.
thanks for watching a small part of the video at least.
@@DevEnabled Probably didnt even watch any of it xD
@@wegotguns3325 Ha, yeah that's what I was getting at with my comment. Based on the comment at least.
