    Seems like "brownies"is the magic word at your place. Good video and some beautiful weather too. Had to start up the wood stove 3 days ago in western Va. so winter close for us too (but nothing like yours LOL)

      Well there is something always neat about starting up the wood stove again....not sure quite what it is yet! But I always enjoy it
      We are cooking on top of our wood stove too
      This is fun to do. Can be challenging as well though!
      Yes we all love the brownies ( too much)!
      Thanks for watching us!

      Ha, love that!!! Yes I agree, we need more time without snow! The seasons are so short here...I miss Oregon because you would have so much time to get projects done! ( there were actually 4 seasons there)
      Oh well, love it here better though overall
      Thanks for watching!😊

    Yea, I’m almost fifty two years old and am a single mom to five kids, four boys and a daughter and my dad, uncle and papaw owned a logging company here in Kentucky in the county we’re still living in actually, and he would have appreciated this video and he also would have considered the y log a nemesis, lol, but yea, this video reminded me of the logging days at the sawmill and hauling wood, chopping wood, etc. , but thank y’all for sharing, it was great

      @Alaskan6pack  Годину тому

      Oh wow...I bet we would have liked him.
      Yes the Y log was a bit tricky...
      Hopefully we will get to mill that out one day.
      Sounds like you are a busy lady!
      Well hopefully you are enjoying our videos.
      Thanks for watching us!😊

    This was a wonderful video! I’m sure your viewer will LOVE her package from you! Brady, you did a great job with all those logs!!! I think the guy in red looks like a Norwegian fisherman. So he should be named Sig Hansen. He’s an American/Norwegian fisherman. 😁And I haven’t made brownies in forever until I started watching your videos. I’ll have you know, a batch is cooling as we speak, and I added mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts in mine! Love to your family!! ❤️🐸🥰

    The cutter on your splitter is a single wedge plane ,cutting a round in two pieces. Is there a cutter shaped like a plus sign? That would cut a round into four pieces doubling your output.

    • @Alaskan6pack
      @Alaskan6pack  Годину тому

      Ah ha....yes that's a great idea!! That would definitely save some time on the splitter. Great idea!

    Why don't you place the wood from the splitter straight into the trailer. Better still into a storage cage so no more handling. Far less handling.

    I'm really getting tired of all these videos where single and families are opting to move out into remote areas with no plan, other than chopping down the forest to warm their butts, to include reliable heating sources to heat their house. Chopping down the forest will come back and take a bite out of your butt. Put in a solar system, a windmill, burn fuel etc.

    • @joanngreen7059
      @joanngreen7059 Годину тому +3

      Multiple sources of heating are required including firewood fuel is expensive and it freezes and can run out if you're snowed in. I live in Wisconsin I know about getting prepared for winter and I have central heating but I do have other options, as this hardworking family does❤

    • @mouldyrx8
      @mouldyrx8 10 хвилин тому +1

      Well I’m pretty sure they aren’t hooked up to gas mains for central heating, a windmill/ solar ? Does that generate heat or electricity ??? Certainly it enough to use fan heaters 24 hours a day. I think you’ll find if you fell half an acre of wood land from 200 acres of land by the time you use 4-5 acres (8-10 years worth) the half an acre will be growing back making firewood extremely self sustaining. Don’t forget roads and tracks have a good chance of being blocked for 3/4 months of the year. Trouble is most people live in this “Amazon world” not everything is on next day delivery.
