First lawn scarification of the year

In this video I am carrying out the first lawn scarification. This was carried out at the beginning of March when temperatures have been quite mild.
You can see the benefits of scarifying and why we do it. The amount of thatch that comes out of a lawn is incredible year after year.
This thatchy layer builds up on the soil surface, nestled in and amongst the blades of grass. Unfortunately, it also prevents air rain and nutrients from effectively penetrating down to the root zone, leading to a poorer lawn.
