- I visited the largest vending machine shop in Japan, where there were over 100 different vending machines offering everything from ramen and hamburgers to curry, drinks, toys, umbrellas, and even masks, etc.
This kind of experience is probably unique to this location and cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Actually, this is my second visit. The reason being that there were too many vending machines and I couldn't be satisfied with just one visit.
🟠Here's a link to my first visit.

Which is your favorite vending machine?
I don't know because it doesn't have vending machines where I live
The curry and rice bowl looked yummy for a vending machine. 🙂
COKE machine !!
The rice
All
I was shocked he didn't know how to play pinball. As a Canadian it was a standard of my youth here and thinking about it you Japanese were more into Pachinko (or so i thought) back in those days. Love em both but thanks for the culture shock on something so simple as pinball ;)
It's crazy, like they live in another country or something 🤯🥸
The age difference probably explains it. I don't think pinball is really a thing nowadays, so younger people may have never played.
@@ktlivingherway516that's not excuse, 3d pinball came on windows XP, plus there was pokemon pinball, sonic spinball, and i'm sure plenty of pinball games in japanese arcades.
more likely this guy just never played pinball, not because it wasn't a thing in japan but because it wasn't something he played.
I love playing pinball game in pc back when I was in elementary school. That the coolest game I had ever played 😂
I think that let's you know how young he is ;)
My dude had no idea how pinball worked and that really made me wonder how many things I just assumed everyone knew about.
oof watching that pinball machine segment hurt.
I think the pinball machines have buttons on each side that you can press to make the flippers at the bottom move to bounce the ball back up to hit more things and increase the score.
Yes thats how they work
That's a classic windows game
I was wonderinh. Yea pinball machines are old school. Ive never heard of anyone not knowing. She is vorrect though. Buttons
Not too often I see people appreciating the fun that pinball machines can be. We had an arcade near where we lived when I was a kid and I'd save my spare change from lunch money to go play it whenever I got the chance with my Dad. They're fun when you get the hang of it!
Even then that particular ball was clearly aimed directly at exit. I don’t blame him for not reacting in time at what the ball did even if he knew how to play
I love Japan, never been there but the culture seems so rich and peaceful. I hope your country keeps being prosperous.
Japan is weirdly old school yet futuristic at the same time if it makes any sense
Yes I have thought this aswell old worldy with artificial intelligence
It does not, so shût the fcc ûp
thats why its real life cyberpunk: mixture of both old and futuristic things
For the game, there are buttons on the sides of the machine. You press the buttons to move the flippers inside the machine to send the pinball around and collect points. Your turn ends when the pinball slides between the flippers.
Oh, and Coke from a vending machine in a glass bottle is absolutely the very best taste.
i like pinball so it caused me a bit of pain seeing that ball get waisted, but i understand there are people who dont know how to play!
About 23 years ago it took me about 3 wasted balls to figure out the buttons on the sides to engage the flippers, I was 6 or 7 years old.
You are NOT a Pinball Wizard
I am
@@blunted219 I'ma need to see proof of that cheif
Lmao
Not even the pinball janitor
What is Pinball Wizard?? Can anyone tell me he he
I recently discovered your UA-cam channel, and I'm absolutely fascinated about it, it's so relaxing and entertaining, I'm a person who suffer from anxiety among other things and it helps a lot ♡ keep going with such an amazing job ! Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷💗😊
The concept of buying a soda for 70 cents is just nuts to me! You'd probably have to go back over 30 years in the US to buy soda that cheap!
Wow really 🙂 soda here in Ph is way more lesser
Well, Arizona canned ice tea still cost 99 cents( some stores charged 1.25, what a crook.
Ha! I was thinking I wish soda was that cheap here. My have times changed.
I love vending machines. Yours are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the ones we have in the States. Here we just have snacks like chips and candy and drink ones as well
We Also have the wheel of death. (The machine where the orange gum came from).
We have even less in Germany... There were way more machines in my youth. Fun times
I want to start some of these types of vending machines here in the U.S. Singapore has some really nice ones too. I think just the cake in a can and lobster and cheese popcorn would be huge hits here.
If we had hot food come out of vending machines in the states someone would inevitably sue from getting burned somehow. It's just how we are. We can't have nice things.
I wish so badly for something like this to be a thing. I've always thought it was really neat to get an actual quality "hot meal" from a vending machine. That old school feeling with that hint of futuristic hits the right medium for me.
5:42 Ah! That childhood memories.....Nostalgia, Windows XP 2003 Microsoft Game Pinball, my first ever computer video game.
Thanks for taking us , that was Fun !! would love to try some, and all looked good 🥰🌸✌
Info about some of the vending machines:
The curry vending machine actually opens the retort package with an internal blade and pours it over the rice, then serves it.
The sandwich vending machine actually has a sandwich press inside, positioned vertically. Normally the shutter at the bottom is closed, but once it is done toasting, the sandwich press opens with the bottom shutter open, dropping the finished food into the chute, which is why it feels like a lava sandwich!
You're the best Japanese travel channel, and I watch all of them!
Thank you for your fun videos. I know other people have explained it already, but the game you were unfamiliar with is called pinball (again, you now already know this). The oldest pinpall machines didn't include flippers, and werw very similar to pachinko. They were usually laying down but sloped at an angle.
You pull the plunger, the little lever with the spring on it, in order to launch the ball into the game.
The pin part of pinball is for the metal pins that the metal ball hits as it travels around the play field.
You pull the plunger down and launch the ball into the playfield. Your goal is to keep the ball in play as long as possible, and to accumulate points.
The two little paddles that your ball traveled in between are called flippers. Each flipper is controlled by a button, located on the side of the machine, near the front. You can use use the flippers like ping pong paddles, to catch, block, and propell the ball all over the play field.
If your score is high enough, you may get multi -ball, where you have to keep multiple balls in play.
Most machines will give you three turns per game.
If your score is very high, you can sometimes also win a free game.
Modern, fancy games also have added elements built into certain games. I think pinball machines are really fun and interesting, and also beautiful to look at.
It's a pinball. Now you have a reason to go back there, to play it properly :)
I was really surprised how unexpensive these products are. Especially considering that the machines run on electricity all day. But maybe Japan isn't hit by the energy crisis ? In Belgium, they tend to shut down the few vending machines you can find here and there, I guess because it costs too much in electricity. And the prices of the products sold are way higher than in this video (at least the double).
In INDIA things are not same that curry price is very expensive as compared with INDIAN food
@@kingzone4373 That still an expensive price for Japanese Curry, but it is coming out of a vending machine.
Japan's electricity uses nuclear power, so with that it has more electric power and less expenditure on that part of the electricity
This place is so unique, it's definitely made it on my travel list for when I visit japan!
Its cool you went back here because theres just so many vending machines
Your videos are so pure and charming. Wish we had vending machines like that here in Australia. The vending machines here are very generic. The coolest vending machine I've seen in person is a coffee making vending machine but that's about it.
Thank you. Enjoying these videos!
What a neat place, it was very fun to live vicariously through you! Greetings from the state of California!
It’s pretty cool that Japan still has those old fashioned Coca Cola vending machines.
That bread looked perfectly toasted. Crazy how old these things are and still work so well.
Makes me nostalgic for a cheesy toasted sandwich on a winter day 🥪❄️
@@kogo8107 Don't forget a bowl of tomato soup
Although Japanese, these typefaces and designs look 1980's or even older. Even if these had been around when I was born, I would have thought they were very old.
I love this channel and content, thank you!!
so comforting to watch your videos
The amount of power it takes to keep them going must be immense!
No that I'm complaining. I'd visit in a heartbeat!
Great content as always. I enjoyed watching it and loved it once again. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍😍😍😍
Thank you so much 🤗
your videos bring me peace
“There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy”❤❤
I love how the tire shop owner is into these classic vending machines
Right? It's cool when passions and business intersect! Thanks for watching! 😊
@@experience_japan it sounds like a fun hobby to restore and maintain these machines.
I've enjoyed the many varieties of vending machines since I was a kid. Thanks for sharing your journeys!
i love videos like this
I could live off these machines for the rest of my life
Nice video! The cherry blossoms are so pretty and there are many cool vending machines. I really hope to go there in the future 😄👍
Please do!
The orange gum boat was a neat touch, I'm glad you showed that. I can remember getting glass liter bottles of sunkist and 7up back in the day here in the states, never saw a coke liter though.
God bless you sir, vending machine videos are fantastic. Hello from Australia
To the large bottles. In my home country when I was a kid, yeah 1L bottles from anything sofa was glass. 2L was an old version of PET but for long time they were glass and were amazing in taste. But I really want to go there just to see those old machines. Nice one for sharing and the guys from old tire shop, good job maintaining all that. It really is a gem to be honest.
I didn’t knew you where recycling too in Japan. As a German this warms my heart
I’m not a curry man myself, but anything that makes a hot meal is pretty cool. Was hoping you would get the ham and cheese on toast in the toast vending machine. Good job. Thank you.
"ham and cheese" no wonder you're "not a curry man".
@@rejuvenatingsoul3498🤣
@@rejuvenatingsoul3498was thinking the same thing lmao
Watching these kind of videos makes me feel like their satisfying!❤
In the days when glass soft drink bottles were common 16 oz was the largest size. Grocery stores usually kept the returned bottles in an area outside the main store. Employees hated the task of stacking and sorting the bottles. In warm weather the sweat residue attracted stinging yellow jackets, other insects and rats. Soft drinks were better in bottles and before the 1980s carbonated drinks were made with sugar which made the flavors crisper and more refreshing with finer bubbles and less aftertaste. Coke with high fructose corn syrup is a shadow of its former glory.
Yay part 2 xD! Regarding the 1L bottles, yes they used to sell those before the plastic ones. They have one for beers too lol! I guess it's more cost efficient for them to go for plastic since not 100% off the glass bottles get returned, then not all are in perfect condition to be reused. Like chipped bottle lips. Sorry mother earth. 😅
The game that you tried playing was a pinball. You now have another reason to come back to that place. 😂 We want you to see playing it.
Japan's vending machines are the most pocket friendly one I swear! You can even find a 50 yen drinks inside a vending machine ! Like one of the comments here, they never rip you off!
Love the video, your pinball skills are legendary ;)
Thanks 😁
For those who were confused and thought that this was a re-upload, it's their 2nd visit there and they clearly stated that in the video...
In the 1970’s the rotating vending machines replaced people in cafeterias. The introduction of modern microwave really made eating a hot meal away from home convenient. Airports, bus terminals and public/government buildings had lots of vending machines. Truly a functional art form that is fun and satisfying!
Yes, but these are unique. The ones you are talking about you have to cook the food. In these it cooks it and serves it hot to you.
Thanks for including the Sakura tree view and moment with Doraemon! thats a sweet bonuses!
My friend this is like a dream come true amazing 😋😋 be safe happy travels my friend
Yesssssssss more of these please with capsule hotels I love it
I would so love to come to Japan just to see and taste everything at this place. Don't have stuff like that in the states.
The states do not use very many vending machines since there is a ton of space everywhere to put shops upon shops. Since Japan is limited on space it's easier to plunk down a vending machine versus a full blown shop/restaurant.
I do agree with you though as I'd love to try out the vending machines in Japan (currently on bucket list to visit).
@@Faythe1981 The rotating food and snack machine was in the Sears lunchroom from 1999-2001 when I worked there.
Those one liter glass bottles of coke and sprite are something I have not seen in 45 years. They were quite common when I was a kid. Love your content. Greetings from the USA.
this guy says everything is good i swear
Maybe the hot food machines don't have all the choices shown on them because it would be difficult for the owner to get all the foods to stock them, since the machines are very old.
I would really like to know how the hot food machines work, especially the curry machine, because it looked like it was put into the bowl when it was ordered (not like some modern vending machines where the food is frozen and microwaved, and the food is in a sealed container when it comes out of the machine).
Here in the United States our local Safeway has a Pokemon vending machine filled with Pokemon cards, toys and games. Considering that Pokemon originated in Japan, I think Japan's obsession with vending machines inspired the Americans to do one focused on Pokemon items.
I always love the vending machine episode.. it's always surprising and coming with many kinds of variation... I like the doraemon figure that you got. It's good for you to get the best luck
Glad you like them!
WHAT! These are all so cool! The pattern on the bowl of the curry was very stylish too. I also agree about the glass-bottle coke, is it because it is made with real sugar?
How does the tire shop restock the foods for the older machines? do the companies that make the foods still exist?
One more thing! I was laughing because I was also having a Canada Dry ginger ale when you purchased one!
nothing beats an ice cold coke in a glass bottle
4:46 I didn't expect to see the Kumho tire brand banner lol. They sell them in the UK too
I think if going to japan many tourists would love to visit this place, its like where do you start hehe I want try it all
Cool ,i like this different machines 😮👍
This is all great, I love vending machines and arcades.
Love these
that pin ball manchine has buttons on the side for the flippers
used to hit the ball
Coke is always better in the glass bottles! I used to have that pinball machine.
To use the pinball machine, you have to press the buttons on the side to move the flippers that will keep the ball moving. I used to be great at pinball, so, so long ago 😜😂
One of the reason why I like this country
Kudos to you❤️
A lot of those older machines is what we used to have here in the U.S., cool to see them still have life in Japan. Yes Coke is way better in the bottle and all our vending machines here only have them in plastic. You have the buy the bottles in stores.
I love these machines. I wonder how the perishable foods are kept fresh. Perhaps they are frozen and microwaved?
My favourite part when get a bottle of coke! Yeahh it very old school vibe feeling
That automat machine, the clear one that has many different things in it… you can see a similar one in the movie Dark City. Love your channel!
I LOVE VENDING MACHINE VIDEOS
After you push the ball, you have to press the 2 buttons to move the ball up, don't let the ball drop at all🙂
I love your video!❤️
Thanks!
You should try the Braumcucken or tree cake in german, absolutely delicious, thank you for the opportunity to watch the video. Greetings from London England 🇬🇧
This place is amazing
Wow amazing ❤
The 1 litre bottles were very common on the 80's and early 90's,just before the plastic bottle boom from the late 90's early 2000's.
Great video THank you
I am really happy that you chose the doremon gacha because it is my favourite cartoon ever ❤

Wonderful!
What does the toasted sandwich vending machine have inside?
The world's smallest fire-breathing dragon, apparently.
Tô gostando desse tipo de vídeo 😊
About the Coke bottles... Here, in Brazil, the majority of soda is sold in plastic bottles in 1,5l to even 3l!
In some restaurants, I already seen the glass bottle with 1,5l too.
a vending machine for meals ! that's cool
i remember the large glass bottled cokes from my childhood. it was pretty common before the plastic ones.
And for some reason coke in the
Glass tastes better than the one in the plastic bottle and can
there are two more crates but they have the decency to fill in the one closer to the passage first with empties. 🥰
You were holding the first sandwich like a little girl with gentle hands hahaha
Not sure if I should ask this, but I'm going to ask anyway. Are there any bottle openers in Japan? Or do you have to open all bottles like how you did at 4:05?
Pinball machine, so there will be two buttons of the side of the machine and you use them to hit the ball to keep it going.
That was a pinball machine game that you couldn’t play. There are buttons on the side of the game that move those white “paddles” where your ball got lost. You have to hit the ball with those paddles to make sure it keeps bouncing around. I love pinball…You have to go back and try it again.
This is where boxxo learned all his vending machine forms.
This gotta be a very popular place everyone goes there
There were levers on the sides of the machine. Object/ trying to keep the ball playing and increasing points. It is called pin ball
You’ve NEVER seen a pinball machine before?!?!
