I've been playing D&D since I was eight years old and I am just shy of fifty. Yes, that long. I haven't played D&D with my buddies since spring so I thought I would fire up some UA-cam D&D videos while I worked on our current campaign. I remembered reading somewhere that Deborah Ann Woll played D&D and that led me to this video. Once I started it....I got nothing else done! I even paused it, grabbed my lovely wife, restarted it and had her watch it with me. I would have paid money to a theatre to see this. THIS is what D&D is supposed to be. I get it that we all play differently but I believe Gary Gygax would tell Deborah and her merry band of adventures that he is proud to see his legacy played so artfully, full of life, mischief, and camaraderie. Bravo!
Lots of (fully deserved) love for Deborah Ann Woll and her amazing DMing skills, but I thought the rest of the cast killed it here too. All the PCs are distinct and well realised, everyone committed wholeheartedly to the RP, which makes for a really fun game to watch. Props all round, and I am really looking forward to future episodes.
Something I LOVE about the set design is just how open and immersive it is; the enormous rooms with incredibly eye-catching and unique props that are visible but deep enough in the background to not be claustrophobic. And this is absolutely magnified by the player dynamics! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Debora Woll isn't using a DM screen but instead just has a notepad to her side, as well as the players having very minimal player-space, with nothing too in the way or out of place, stylistically. These are all just fun aesthetics and eye candy, but I am super impressed with all the work and thought that went into this episode.

The creativity, the immersion, the preparation of materials, lack of judgment, embracing this world and story… I have no words. Thank you for this, team, and excellent job all… especially Deborah, the DM!
Superb production quality. Very impressive. The set is gorgeous! Deborah Ann Woll's acting chops, man, shifts in her physicality, voice, mannerisms all small but effective. She's great as a DM. Her level of preparedness is quite remarkable too! She's so engaging and fun to watch. Different from both Mercer and Colville. The cast is so great too. Xander was wonderful on Shield of Tomorrow. a total natural. Matthew Lillard was hilarious. I'm looking forward to discovering all the others. Didn't know that Charlie Cox was going to be on this, should be good. Personally waiting for Kevin Smith, just to see him play a character that speaks more than 5 lines lol
The urgency, the almost unnoticable tremble in Deboras voice and her colourful descriptions had me on the edge of my seat. The response of Sarah was exactly what I expected and still it gave me litteral chills and made me quite uneasy. I am godsmacked by her narration! Of course this only works so well because the players are seriously roleplaying and detailing their actions, which is great fun, I point to the moment that berries and coins were shared on the boat :) And how could I forget this absolutely fabulous set? Absolutely impressive and immersive I LOVE this!
What I love about this episode: I love the set and the props, but more importantly, I love how much the people in this video love the set and the props. I love how quickly and effectively Deborah Ann sets up the scene (the editing helps, but maybe a bit too much). It's awesome for one-shots and time-limited sessions, especially in the beginning when players tend to take their time looking around and settling in. That being said, I would've appreciated one-minute intros for each character, or better yet, a brief summary of how each character behaved during their last (fictional? pre-gamed?) adventure. I love the creepfest that begins at 24:48. Deborah Ann does a great job. I love the players, too, Every single one had a few amazing moments. Ms. Woll, in particular, was an exuberant, relaxed and easy dungeon master who painted a very rich world. Wow! I enjoyed Deborah in True Blood and Daredevil / Netflix Marvel series. BUT she is so freaking amazing as a DM! She is definitely one of the best (if not THE best) out there. The cast had me rolling over laughing and then the next thing I knew I was white knuckling it with nerves. Finally, Deborah Ann Woll is a treasure trove of story. We are all exceedingly lucky to have her telling them and I, for one, hope she never stops. Her style as a Dungeon Master was so giving and compassionate whilst still making sure the narrative marshaled on. It takes a great actor to share a stage well, but for a dungeon master to hand over the spotlight to her players as she did, truly remarkable. Mercer shows how to make highly engaging campaigns! Woll shows how to make highly engaging one-shots! So glad there is so much room in the geek universe!
The thing i love about Deborah Ann Woll is that she is not just a great Actor and Dungeon Master, but she is extremely intelligent and combining all that makes her an awesome storyteller
nice, I was hoping they'd bring this to youtube after seeing that interview with Matt Lillard
The pacing of this show feels nice and brisk. Quite a bit happens in a short amount of time. I love it!
Oh gods YASSSS! I’ve been waiting for this show for so long!
Ms Woll is such a treasure and an amazing DM!
Definitely hope this continues for ♾!
1 Corinthians 8;6
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
Also I want a season 2 of R&R Deborah is a jem.
Jasmine, Matt and Deborah just get me all in my feels. Shout out to Deb for being an INSANELY GOOD DM. 20/10
Um how did I just find this I love it so much! Deborah is an AMAZING DM! PLEASE BRING MATTHEW LILLARD BACK FOR A WHOLE SEASON! THAT GROUP CHEMISTRY WAS GREAT!!!
The production quality on this project is insane. And omg Deborah is such a good DM!!! I can’t wait to watch the rest of these!
Thank you for making this available on UA-cam! I'm incredibly excited about this campaign!
This is top quality DnD! 5 stars! 10/10! Amazing, emotional, artistic, just fantastic!
This was very good, Deborah Ann Woll was electric. I'm glad it came to youtube, as much as I think everyone deserves to be paid and such, Alpha isn't going to have the same sheer amount of audience that this deserves.
I'M SO HAPPY THIS IS FINALLY ON UA-cam
Watching Debora DM is a true pleasure experience. One of my favourite DMs and storytellers ever ❤
A shining example of how this type of content should be done. Marvelous in so many ways, from the cast to the set to the editing and more.
Also shout-out to this comment section for being so wholesome and unlike typical UA-cam comments. But that's just a G&S thing mostly.
Wow, Deborah Ann Woll is so freakishly quick as a GM! :O I cannot even comprehend how she is doing this! Amazing! This is a level I have to strive for very hard... just, no words! Loved already her adventure within the Stream of Many Eyes but this one is just perfect. I also love the players though I feel like some of them still need to find their footing and presence. But overall an amazing show! Thank you, everybody!
I mean tbf she is an actress... Would be pretty dissapointing if she was bad at improv
Well done - from concept, to design, to on-going story continuity.... and DAW is beyond good in this, she brings it. Looking forwards to more of these.
Just getting into the whole DnD scene and am loving it. Everyone does such a marvelous job here!!
same here I'm late to the party but it is such a treat to see this level of interaction and just shear fun from so many different ppl
I just found this and my girlfriend and I have been litterally glued to it at the edge of our seats when the baby cradle starts to slowly sway......you have us hooked now
Watch out Matt Mercer, Debrah Ann Woll is hot on the trail as being one of the best DM's!
@Hector Lewis oh im aware, Ive seen her a couple of times now. She was a great npc
Matt has GM’d her before in Force Grey DnD series. Obvious she knows what she is doing ( has also GM’d for one of the special DnD weekends). 💕💖
She also GM’d Mercer in the Stream of Many Eyes
She should DM for him
@@ariannaravenmcclare She already has, in "The Stream of many Eyes" Oneshot.
That's the best RPG in UA-cam... Omg I really love this, the caracters, the actors, and the master... Omg, THE MASTER, she's AMAZING... Pls continue with this!
Deborah Ann Woll. Is an amazing DM. Her story telling in this adventure is amazing
Wow. The wait was worth it. I've roped my better half into the world of DnD and since we've started watching sessions we agree this was the best we've seen. DAW is an amazing DM and the entire group is great.
Very captivating!! Good job guys!! Can’t wait for the next one!! Hats off to Deborah!! The first time she interpreted the possession of Sarah’s body.... gave me chills!! 🥶👍🏻
I thought she really hit her head on the table.😧
I just came from Geek Bomb in the middle of the video with Deborah because I didn't know this existed but I'm am really happy it does.
Omg I love this DM. She makes event for anything
OK: I looked it up for anyone who is late this series (as I was):
Tommy Walker: Veros, a human fighter; Xander Jeanneret: Rikki, a gnome druid; Julia Dennis: Annabella, a human bard; Jasmine Bhullar: Beryl, a half-orc Barbarian. The DM is Deborah Ann Woll. And they are all wonderful. Rikki and Beryl stole my heart almost immediately; but the entire ensemble is great!
That laugh at 3:10 actually can cure every problem in the world. 100% perfection.
I think my day was made a lot better!
Ok. I'm fairly certain that Deborah is now my favourite DM. I've been a fan of Matthew Lillard since Hackers so I enjoy watching him, and what a group! What a show! This is excellent and I can't wait to see more.
Cereal Killer.
@@kosto7845. Ah, a man of quality! 👌
Thank you so much for putting this on UA-cam. As everyone has mentioned, the set is beautiful. DAW is an amazing story teller. It is an absolute joy to watch these people play.
So good the use of props and music really grabs you into the session
So looking forward to this! Glad to see its up on UA-cam now!
Top notch DM with a strong rule-of-cool vibe. Great party dynamic too. Very good storytelling on both sides of the table.
Matthew Lillard makes for a great start. CAN'T WAIT for Kevin Smith's episode. You know that's gonna be some kind of fun.
I am in love with this! Deborah Ann and everybody in this production did a fantastic job! Everyone! Keep this series alive with tons of love and support! I would do that too!
Oh my word! What an a brilliant idea this show is! I absolutely love the set, Deborah’s storytelling is engrossing and the whole theatrical experience is amazing. Bravo!
I had to re-visit this campain, such a group, such a campain ! I think I'll have myself watching and learning from this many times again...
Wow guys! This was amazing, all the work put into the show is onvious and fantastic. and detail in post of pictures during to show a visual is amazing! & dice cam!! Can't wait for next week!!
I have absolutely LOVED Matthew Lillard since Hackers came out. He did so much with his character in that movie.
Love the parallels between this and Haunting of Hill House
That may have been better than anything I've watched on television in years! Deborah, you are an amazing storyteller - please, write something that I can buy!
wish granted!
Aaaa thank you for making this available, I've wanted to watch this forever!
She's the kind of GM i would want.
Such a treat to watch.
boy oh boy i really like the intro how they sit on a set and interact with it. good jobs guys the game is also fun to watch i kinda hook to this series
I've never cried during a d&d game, and the scene between Sarah and Mary made me tear up. Well done!!
I really enjoyed this, I usually struggle to integrate puzzles into games but I felt like this was a fun whimsical way of doing it with puzzles that were more fun then trite or unsatisfying,
