    👉 Raptor Liner 6 QT Kit: amzn.to/3cilC6a
    👉 U-Pol adhesion promoter: amzn.to/3ozAsv0
    👉 Eastwood Rust Converter: amzn.to/3ClZx1q
    👉 Eastwood Rust Encapsulator: amzn.to/3kH17Vm
    👉 Blue tape with Masking Film attached: amzn.to/30oItKN
    👉 Roll of sticky back sandpaper 80 grit: amzn.to/3chEDWD
    *Self etching primer, 3M scuff pads, and roll of blue tape I purchased at hardware stores.*
    This 1995 F150 is particularly challenging because it's rusty and dented. First, I had to scrape off the heavy scale rust. Then, I had to treat/use rust converter on the rust to neutralize it. Once the rust was neutralized, I was able to sand/scuff the bed so that that raptor liner could adhere to the metal properly.
    Second, I use rust encapsulator paint on all the rusted areas and I used self etching primer for all the bare metal spots. I let these two paints dry, then I used U-Pol's adhesion promoter in all the hard to reach areas as well as any areas that I felt weren't sanded as deeply.
    Third, I set up the raptor liner spray gun (MUST NEED: female threaded air compressor quick disconnect fitting and teflon tape).
    I mixed the hardener and raptor liner to the correct ratio, shook it for two minutes, and started spraying. Allow product to flash dry between coats. the directions out lines the timing.
    Minor note: If the raptor product gets wet before the 72 hour dry period it WILL NOT AFFECT the integrity of the product. White dots will appear in the raptor liner every time it rains. Once the water on the bed dries up, the white dots will slowly disappear, but will reappear each time the bed gets wet. This will continue for a few months and will eventually go away.

    Gonna do this next year on my 92 F250. Has a plastic liner right now. Hoping the bed is in decent shape...but I know there's at least some rust in one corner behind the cab....because I get water leaking out there. The plastic liner cracks all the time also. Sanding IS tedious...lol. I can say that...as someone who does a fair amount of woodworking. You did a beautiful job. Gonna be really helpful to see the lines you did on the sides...and especially on the tailgate. You're so meticulous...lol....which lends to creating a very informative video. Thank, Stevie!

      @@TheMinuteMasters Cool. Didn't realize you used to have a plastic liner in it. The part I hate about the plastic liner is how much crap gets caught in the grooves. Not easy to sweep out, especially after carrying gravel or dirt. The spray coating should be so much better.

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  2 роки тому

      Thanks Jason! 🤙 I didn’t but I would say I did the whole project under $300. Line X for a 5.5 bed is around $600. So i would assume an 8 foot bed would be more. My other concern was Line X would either not do the project because of the rust or they wouldn’t warranty the project.

    My 92 f150 5.0 is reving hi then low and amps needle goes up and down with it . whent I turn all electrical s on that i can ideals get a draw has new alternator & map sensor is this a vacuum leak or electrical distort or drain i have to replace radiator brace its broken will this cause a loss of proper ground.

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  2 роки тому

      Sounds like an electrical issue, especially if the amp needle goes up and down. The is an electrical ground attached to the radiator support (brace). If that ground cable is loose or coming free, that could cause an issue. However it doesn’t hurt to check all of your vacuum lines to make sure you don’t have a vacuum leak.

    Are there any spots you sprayed the Raptorliner DIRECTLY over the Self etching primer without the adhesion promotor?
