- First ten minutes of a "Casper And Friends" show as aired February 13, 1992. Following the catchy theme song are two Harveytoons with re-recorded soundtracks, competely replacing the original music and dialogue. First, Casper in "Which Is Witch," followed by the Modern Madcap "Fine Feathered Fiend." Closing it out is a promo for "The Simpsons" and then an animated PSA about safety and electricity -- the voice of the firefly sounds like Jack Sheldon, the singer of the SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK songs "Conjunction Junction" and "I'm Just A Bill." The redubbed Harveytoons made their debut in the fall of 1991, but later reverted back to their original soundtracks.
Geez, it's just like when they redubbed the classic Gumby episodes in 1988 with new voice tracks and cheesy synthesizer music, or when Walt Disney World renovated their Haunted Mansion ride in 2007 and replaced most of the soundtrack (save the Ghost Host and Singing Busts' voices).
Remembering 'CHILDHOOD'....
I have watched this, And My Childhood was AWESOME...
THUMBS UP If You AGREE...
:)
I'm glad they didn't use these redubs again and only showed the original versions of the cartoons since The Harveytoons Show came out in the late 90's.
FanimationXV True.
@@ChristopherSobieniakSame here
They're gone. The original tapes that feature the redubbs are all destroyed. they recieved sooo much complaints.
Wow, I didn't know they redubbed these episodes when Casper and Friends originally aired. At least the Hulu version of the series used the original soundtrack.
Mannn, this brings back tons of memories!!! i Loved watching this at 5 in the morning before heading to junior highschool.
Sad there's only two episode of Casper and Friends existing in the entire world, this and one recorded on my VHS.
i have 2 episodes on my channel but is in greek dub
So I just found out that these Harveytoon redubs were actually done at TAJ Productions, whom also dubbed Pokemon for 4Kids and The Pokemon Company International! The music was arranged by Carter Cathcart, AKA the voice of Gary Oak (and the current voices of James, Meowth and Professor Oak.)
Pretty lame compared to the originals >:(
NeluThat70sKid I think not!
I think They pretty much hired the same voice actors from 4Kids Entertainment for the Characters on These Redubbed HarveryToons, including Veronica Taylor,Eric Stuart, Rachael Lillis, Tara Sands, Erica Schroeder, Carter Cathchart etc. Along with Then newcomers like Joe Alaskey, Ken Page, Nancy Cartwright, Rob Paulsen,Brad Garrett, Billy West and Dan Castellanetta!🤔
@@nicholasmalone5943 I think was a couple years before Veronica Taylor, Eric Stuart, Rachel Lillis or anyone else from the Pokémon dub even did voice acting.
@@tavvyprods1275 Could be!🤔
You gotta obey what those signs say 🎶
Here's the reason why there's redubbed...
In 1989 Jeffrey A. Montgomery bought Harvey Comics and all its properties including the rights to the Casper the Friendly Ghost character. He then proceeded to restore all the classic Casper animated shorts along those of the rest of Harvey's properties: Baby Huey, Buzzy the Crow, Little Audrey, and Herman and Katnip, and repackage them into this series. However, Montogomery found that the rights to the cartoons' soundtracks belonged to Winston Sharples, so he had all the audio redone from scratch, new voices becoming necessary because the original ones couldn't be separated from Sharples' music.
My opinion, No one cares
Why didn't he simply negotiate with Sharples's son to have the originals? The cartoons were silly without their original soundtracks!
Chaz Clark Well I'm glad it's all ancient history!
Similiar to John Seely, Jack Shaindlin and others re Gumby...
@@TonyGPizza No one cares???? DREAM ON 😠😠😠😠
Isnt winston sharples' music in the library of congress now?
Say what you want, but the intro is really catchy
Thanks for posting this! Was born decades after this show stopped airing and I always wondered how those redubs sounded. Turns out they sound really bad!
Thankfully, the original soundtracks to these shorts can be found without much issue. But, if any other episodes of this show (and by extension, the redubs) can be found, I'd love to see them!
Glad to hear if they reverted back quickly, I remember watching these and hated it because of those dubs.
find my childhood here :)
what I got is only "obey what the sign say"
Historical Note-"Which is Witch" was Wendy's only theatrical appearance, she would later appear in The New Casper Cartoon Show on ABC
It's also the only time we actually get to see Casper and Wendy going on a date.
Only for Spooky to ruin it for them because he wanted to spend time with Casper. Like I get it but you didn’t need to do your cousin dirty like that
3:32 - 3:52 this track is so memorial
Theme starts 0:13
Claster Television distributed this series. Do you have the closing credits to "Casper and Friends" yet?
You referring to, this?

I used to watched this show back then and they looked horrible. The voice acting are complete garbage and the music was out of place. This episode doesn't know the title at all. They're all redubbed and it was bad. There was one episode on that was Little Audrey, her voice sounds terrible, and it never sounded like Mae Questel voicing Little Audrey. After watching these episodes, I'll never going to watch it again. Thanks for the DVD's for putting the original soundtrack back in place.
@@SpectrumAssociates That’s right! All of the redubs seen on “Casper & Friends” were lost to time. So all of the shorts from this series are now on Peacock with the original Winston Sharples soundtrack restored and preserved. All of the post-50 Paramount cartoons are now owned by Universal.
What an odd thing for them to do...
Then again, now I know why many of the foreign Harveytoon redubs sound so strange.
Maknyusss
Are these tv versions of Casper?
if you really want to upload a casper and friends for a clip all you have to do is ask
What year was that weather report?
cute
lol WHAT'S WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE? Why can't they learn to leave our childhood memories intact? ~>:(
The voice actors in this redubs were later did the voices for the “Pokémon” series produced by 4Kids.
