Raymond Massey from Pearl plays the Export Series acoustic drum set at Kraft Music.
Pearl Export series drum sets are available in your choice of three shell configurations -- "standard" (725), "fusion" (725S), and "jazz" (705) -- and two different finish materials -- lacquer (EXL) and high-gloss wrap covering (EXX).
Standard / Lacquer: 22" kick; 12", 13", 16" toms; 14" snare
Standard / Wrap: 22" kick; 12", 13", 16" toms; 14" snare
Fusion / Lacquer: 22" kick; 10", 12", 16" toms; 14" snare
Fusion / Wrap: 22" kick; 10", 12", 16" toms; 14" snare
Jazz / Lacquer: 20" kick; 10", 12", 14" toms; 14" snare
Jazz / Wrap: 20" kick; 10", 12", 14" toms; 14" snare
That drummer is Raymond Massey. I used to watch him and the Wooten Bro.s play in Nashville every wed. at 3rd and Lindsey. Great drummer and nice guy!

Very warm round tone. I've gotta admit, i'm impressed.
Great playing. Great tuning all the way around, even the snare. Great balance of tuning range as well. Very balanced sounding, miking. Nice dynamics. Cymbals sounded fantastic for a midrange priced set. Just shows ya ain't gotta spend $4K on a kit, hardware and cymbals. This set-up could work well for most pro gigs. WELL DONE!
superb drummer...always heard a lot about Pearl but Ive only run across one kit about 30 years ago...that snare sounds nice, I hope it's included...

Oh yes they do sound this good. I own one. Tune it probably with good heads. Even the ones that it comes with are fine.
Looks and sounds so good it almost makes it seem absurd to spend more on a kit.
I have the exact kit with same color on order. The only difference is I ordered the 7 piece kit plus a 13 inch tom. They are backordered and will not get until November. They are a very popular kit. With the right heads and tuned correctly I’d put them up against DW. Good drummer in this video.
I dunno, man. I've got a new export, and I don't think it's anywhere near a DW. I'm not complaining though. I didn't pay for a DW.

I believe the shells are Poplar and Asian Mahogany , with the right heads and tuning they sound Awesome. Export is a workhorse

I wish I had for every douchebag that blew 5 grand on a high end kit that didn't tune it and sounded like crap. I'd be embarrassed to have my spendy kit get dusted by a kit costing 1/6th as much.
A great drummer could make any kit sound great.
Remember, yes you can make a cheap drum sound like a Masterworks or anything else of that level, BUT even if you are Buddy Rich, it is virtually impossible to make bad cymbals sound like a gazzillion dollar cymbal.
this dude always looks so insecure while drumming, but hes actually awesome. that implied metric modulation at 1:20 was beautiful!

i still have my pearl export at my friend's place. i mostley use green which with remo skins on my drums & art on the front of my drum's. drums are a great instrument which iv'e been gifted to play drums. i which i could play just a little bit of bass guitar. that would be really fun & of course. i have very much love for the sound of Drums Bongo's & Congo's. but it's good to learn everything only if you can that is otherwise. if you don't have skill. it's maybe no worth it or it's not meant to be so. i'm trying my best to help my 10 year old niece with drum's manley. because i have had my time to shine on drum's. in the street's playing in front of many people everyday for 8 hours with out a break & singing with my playing 80's & 90's song's. when i play drum's for the street's.. great sounding video as well ;-) ;-) pearl sounds nice.

Well is it the drums, or the drummer ? i'd say both but who knows what was done to make this even more amazing sounding. The drummer was the reason really when it comes down to it .They fooled your asses !
If you know what your doing as far as tuning,putting new heads on etc You can turn the Ddrums to sound as good as the pearls on here but pearls are my drums of choice.But I am buying a set of Ddrums today for $260 after talking it down.They consider them a intermidiate set do you agree.Ddrums d 2 series

They're both made with Poplar wood, I think. I'd go with Pearl Export. Better hardware and better sound.

Sahil Ahmad Wrapped drums (EXx) sounds not as good as laquer. And if you buy one, go for the Fusion model, sounds great.
Sahil Ahmad I've had the EXXs (Electric Blue Sparkle) for a year and they sound and look terrific. I suppose if you put the EXLs and EXXs under a signal analyzer, there MAY be some differences in frequency response due to the added thickness of the sparkle, but it is a very tight (no gaps) wrap, and I couldn't tell any difference at the store. My bet is that most, if not all, people couldn't tell the difference. I did put Evans EC2s on the toms to fatten the sound a little, but that's just my preference. They sounded awesome with the stock Ambassadors too.

What is the difference between Forum Series Vs. Export?

Export is made with better materials. Go to pearldrums.com and look up what woods are used for each drum series. I'm not even sure Pearl makes the Forum series anymore (I'm typing this in late 2018). I think the Forum series was replaced by the Roadshow series.

this is the new exports different everything. much improved. look up the specs.
juan juarez SiREN2173 is right - these are completely different drums and the design, execution, and quality control throughout is much better than the 1990s versions. I've owned the Fusion model in this video (except in Electric Blue Sparkle) for over a year and it blows my late '80s Tama Rockstar Pro away in terms of response, construction, and ease of tuning. The hardware is first-rate too.

+Gary Targus NO they aren't. They're B20 Bronze, Low to Mid Brightness, that's why they aren't that bright as the AAX or AA Sabians. They sound better in person versus this.
