Everyone is complaining how disney put a chinese twist on the song.... of course they did it because they are in shanghai! it's not like they would do it in US or japan
The only three problems, Mickey does almost nothing, the crowd was pretty much a buzzkill, and the celebration is too Chinese. Yes, obviously, its in China, but they gotta keep the basics American. Like at the end, the last song they sing is apparently, at least according to Disney's website, " A multi-generational choir performed a unique version of the Disney song, “When You Wish Upon a Star,” arranged in a Chinese style to reflect the balance of Disney magic and China’s cultural spirit at Shanghai Disney Resort." Is it just me or did the last song sound nothing like When You Wish Upon a Star?
+何旭光 yeah, I just figured that out. I guess I'm still upset that Shanghai Disneyland got really cool original rides while we get a Frozen ride and more movie based areas.
The1Mouseketeer they have different microphones in different locations and so they use they to mute. i know people who have been to concerts and its very loud, but when professionally recorded, the entire audience is literally muted so yeah
A little condescending as their hosts speak as if Disney is part of Chinese Culture, which most part of the show was focus on. Disney music only appear mostly as bits and pieces. Lang Lang basically destroy the Frozen song "Let It Go". And the only Disney character is Mickey Mouse. Chinese government probably won't want the show to be too spectacular. That will give too much "Face" to Disney. Disney also willing to give in. Obviously. moneys talk! "This is a Chinese Disneyland, and we mostly won't want too much of corrupt American Capitalist influence in Socialist China!"
It was beautiful! Loved the choir, loved the music, very enjoyable to watch!
now this was a good show would have loved to seen this in person.
a very somber opening to what should have been a very magical and upbeat opening.
but it was pretty
ok now that was awesome and i love mickeys new look it looks incredible :D
Wonderful!!!!! :) and in Latin America, when?

After watching with the captions on I'm more confused than ever :-))

The last song is 谭盾's creation, so it should have nothing to do with the song you mention.

In the recording they usually try their best to mute out the audience.
+Lps Fire wouldn't they have to edit out some of the show for that?
