I think Noelle could be the pawn that's promoted to a knight after the death of her dad. It'd make sense for her to want to go back to the dark world to escape the real one
One thing i really like about this theory is that it gives Kris a real reason to open the dark world after a Weird Route. That's really one of the points of their character that has been stuck in my head for awhile
Honestly, I think the very idea of the Knight being manipulated by Gaster kind of takes away from the Knight itself. I feel like, with as much buildup the Knight is getting, it can't just be another pawn in someone else's game. It should be its own character with its own motives. Though, maybe that's just me being biased with what I want the game to be. The plot of the Roaring can be reasonably argued to be connected to all the Gaster stuff due to Gaster's research into darkness and the dark worlds, as seen in entry 17. And, if Dess is hypothetically trapped in the same place as Gaster, then we get an answer to the connection problem for free, since that makes the Dess plot connected to the Gaster plot. So... I guess by the transitive property, that automatically makes the Dess plot connected to the Roaring plot as well. No Knight required. And even if I'm wrong about Dess being trapped in the same place as Gaster, the idea of her being trapped in a dark world already connects to the Roaring plot, since, assuming the dark world she's trapped in isn't Castle Town, we're going to have to seal that dark world's fountain anyway. Anyway, that's just me giving my thoughts on the Mayor Knight thing. I don't doubt you may have more evidence, but that was really the only thing you presented in this video.
Hi again! Thanks for watching both of my videos! I personally think the Knight being influenced by Gaster would be a pretty good gateway to the next villain, since I believe the Knight will be fought at the end of Chapter 5. Also, she has her own motivation in the form of finding her daughter. I greatly appreciate your criticism and I know my theories can be flawed! After all, there's only 2 Chapters to go about and I can't say much about the Knight without leaning on heavy speculation. But I believe that the Knight being connected to Dess would be a good way to make these 3 plots coherent together, if it'll end up as "Dess is trapped with Gaster" then that wouldn't have as much substance as we would get 2 answers that are virtually the same, while revealing that the Knight is related to Dess would actually make her mystery as important as it is led on by the Spamton Sweepstakes. If you have any theories and speculations yourself regarding the Knight or Dess, you can share them if you want. I'm very interested to see what your personal theories are!
@@KiwimoraArt I guess I'll share my own thoughts on the Knight. You mentioned in this video that you don't think the Knight is a force of destruction and its motive is to simply bring about the Roaring. While I do agree that the Knight isn't just a force of destruction, I do think their motive is to bring about the Roaring. Or, at least, something related to the Roaring. I mean, they're titled "The *Roaring* Knight" for a reason, right? I feel like that alone is enough to assume the Roaring is at least related to their motives. Queen, the only character to call it this before we know of the Roaring, is later shown to not know what the Roaring is, so she clearly had to have gotten it from somewhere. Thus, I don't think their motive is JUST to look for Dess, since the Roaring seems to be on their to-do list as well. I feel like that rules out characters like Dess & the mayor being the Knight as well, since they would not be willing to bring about a world-ending calamity that puts both Noelle & Rudy in grave danger. I also feel like the Knight cannot be a character that previously appeared as a major character in Undertale. They already had their time in the sun, it doesn't make sense for them to go through another major character arc. The prologue to Chapter 1 was filled with the Undertale characters we all know and love. Toriel drives us to school & we get to see Undyne waving at us, Alphys is the teacher, Asriel was mentioned to be coming back from college soon, and so on. With the prologue being filled with showing the Undertale characters again, it seems like it's being built up to have these characters in a new story. And yet, every character of the main cast we've seen so far is a completely new original character unseen in Undertale. This, as well as the point I just brought up, leads me to believe that no (major) Undertale character can be of great importance to Deltarune's plot. Sure, they may get some side stories, but not as big as the Knight plot. Since Darkners are also out of the equation, that leaves very few candidates. Though, if I were to give my full thoughts on each of those candidates and who I think the Roaring Knight really is, we'd be here forever. I apologize if I come across as rude or aggressive in my comments, especially due to me only really mentioning counters.
@@UnoriginalJokester Don't worry, you're not coming off as rude at all! I'm glad I can discuss DELTARUNE with you. After all, it's healthy to receive critique. In my theory I say that one of their "tasks" given by Gaster is to bring upon the Roaring, while not being something they actually want to do, nor understand. The Roaring Knight actually wanting to bring the Roaring probably will be the direction Toby is going to. BUT, if the Roaring Knight wanted to bring the Roaring and destroy everything, they could've just opened up a bunch of Dark Fountains in several minutes, so I don't think they understand the consequences of the Roaring or how it works, no matter what theory we're going off of here. And yeah, for quite a while I suspected Asgore to be the Knight, but I realized that Toby probably wouldn't make the Knight a character from UNDERTALE.
@@KiwimoraArt Just to be clear, I also don't believe the Roaring is the Knight's sole motivation for the reasons you brought up. I just think the Roaring is a major part of the Knight's motives, since its title is just too hard to ignore for me. Either way, I still hold my ground on the whole "Gaster manipulation" theory. If Gaster really is responsible for THAT amount of the Knight's actions, then, honestly, what's even the point of the Knight in the first place? If every significant action the Knight has taken is basically Gaster's fault, then what's the difference between Gaster manipulating the Knight and Gaster being the Knight himself, narratively speaking? It just makes things unnecessarily complicated. And I don't think the "it's to connect with the Dess plot" argument really works here, since we're only two chapters into the game so far. It's very possible that something else could come up that neatly ties all the plots together without the need of the Knight. Perhaps, to raise a possibility, the presumed connection between Noelle and the Angel could be what does that. The prophecy does state that the way the Delta Warriors stop the Roaring is by banishing the Angel's Heaven, so the Angel seems to already have a connection to the Roaring right there. So, by tying in the Angel with both Noelle & the Roaring, that could be the very thing that connects Dess to the Roaring.
@@UnoriginalJokester I mean yeah, we're only 2 Chapters in and it's hard to make theories without speculation as (as you said) there may be more stuff revealed like the connection between Noelle and Religion/The Angel. As for Gaster controlling/influencing the Knight, I think it kinda is a parallel to Us. I believe that DELTARUNE in some way is nudged here and there by Gaster to make a story so he can fulfill his goal, so both We and Mayor Holiday are used by Gaster to further his goals, but unlike her, we are given the choice to either try to fix things (Normal Route, Kris gets friends and characters are developed) or bring pain (Continued Weird Route). I understand this may not be satisfying to a lot of people, as the Knight is currently being built up to be important, but that's my personal belief and I get that it may not satisfy people. Besides, there's no telling what Toby Fox may do, this guy's an enigma. By the way, if I may ask. Is there anything in this or the previous theory you particularily enjoyed? We've been arguing and discussing DELTARUNE, and I'm curious if there were parts of my theories that you liked?

The idea of Kris wanting more power so he can rid himself of the Player lines up with Sock Muppet's explanation of the Genocide ending in Undertale. You gave Chara enough power to defy you and destroy the world, and then they asked for your soul in exchange for bringing it back. Perhaps given enough weird routes, we'll see Kris do the same thing: become strong enough to survive without the Red Soul, via determination.
another stand in for knight 2 could literally just be the weird horse thing in chapter 1 because it’s supposed to be like a knight in chess which is a really stupid answer to this but its a possibility
