What a beast of a video this ended up being! It wasn't actually my plan initially but, I figured why not! And no, I'm still not being paid by Blackmagic for these 🤣 Hopefully useful for all using Studio!
Not only is this one of the best summaries of the advantage of the studio version, but also I like your way to present these things. Very entertaining and sympathetic. The number one channel for DaVinci Tips :)
Hey! Thank you, I appreciate the kind words :) I aim to be more ‘I learnt this from my friend’ rather than ‘I learnt this in school’ presentation style 🙂
Thank you so much for this! I started learning editing using UA-cam a year ago so with no training, I have very little clue of what can be done with editing. I'm 47 now and this has probably been the most useful wider scoped video I've watched. Masterful and gives me loads to now have a deeper dive into.
Guess what I am getting for Christmas, so much to know, so much to learn! OMG, my head will be spinning. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and information. You have given me many ideas to play with, not sure I will ever get to your standard.
Just had to comment a 2nd time because I found this so useful. This will live in my Watch Later list as reference material for a long time! Thank you again 😁
THIS is an incredible amount of work, wonderfully useful in every regard, and typical MrAlexTech, no nonsense and straight to the always useful point. As ever, thanks for all this, Alex, a helluva great intro to Studio.
Thank you very much for this more than clear video with many different items. A beautiful overview that I can use with a regularity when I don't remember something. Thank you Alex.
So I sprang for the Studio version recently because of that Once-in-a-Lifetime sale price (and yes, some guilt for using the Free version for a year now.), but I feel MUCH better about that after seeing your video. Thank you!
I wish I had waited...for this video! A few weeks ago I decided to find out for myself as many Studio features as I could. That ended up as a marathon! Now I see I missed several features and you've explained them so much better than I could have found by experimenting. And I used that great Audiio AI feature! It's a gem. Great vid as always Alex.
W końcu doczekałem się materiału który wiele mi pomoże w DaVinci Resolve Studio nawet długoś materiału nie przeszkadzała jak najwięcej takich omówieni 👍👍👍 i pokazów jak używać tych funkcji.👍👍👍
There is a supermarket commercial over here in Germany with the meanwhile famous line "Einmal hin, alles drin" aka "Once there, all in". This is exactly what the video is about. :-) Outtstandig, Alex!
Thank you for making this. I love all of your content, and this will be a another big help. I just purchased the Studio version a few months ago but haven't had a real chance to explore everything. On a side note, the music you used was the same song I used in one of my first videos I made (a commercial for a friend's business), so that brought back a few memories. :D
I learned a lot from that video, simply because I don't play a lot with all those options. Most of the time, I do travel videos. So, I tend to keep the original footage. But Now, I might use a few of them. I likeit when someone like you make a video like that, because now I know some effects I didn't know it even exist! Keep the good work Alex, it's awesome following your tutos! Have a great one! 😁
Thanks for this Alex. Followed you for years. Best tutorial to date. Makes an excellent reference video when you need to bone up on the finer points You have obviously put in a lot of work to produce this for us 'Resolvers' Thanks very much.
Worth the time it took to make! This video is great and very helpful. In fact, I had rendered out a final that had some upscaled footage and after watching the Super Scale section I re-rendered! Thank you sir!
Mr. Alex, ma man, one of the best Davinci Resolve teachers out there. God bless you. My Studio Activation card arrived yesterday and this video you made came up just in time. I was playing around with some stuff I had dreamt to play with back when I was using the free version, and now I`m trying out everything you`re doing in this video and screaming like a kid who got his dream toy ahahhah )))
The biggest stumbling blocks for me when I started using Resolve were the simple things navigating around the software. Things like grabbing a frame, moving the frame, zooming in with middle mouse or even using the simple edit tools. When ever I go round to my mate’s house to work on his Mac OS version of Resolve, I’m back to square one scratching my head trying to do the basic stuff. It’s amazing how different the Windows and Mac versions of Resolve are.
I use Resolve both on Mac and PC. I find them very similar, but then again I'm using a mouse with a middle button/scroll wheel on my Mac as well. Mac users are missing out if they are using the Magic Mouse or just a trackpad in Resolve.
Hi MrAlexTech Firstly you did encourage me to buy the DaVinci Resolve Studio Version when it was on sale Thanks 🙏🏻. And now this video explainer for features in Studio! I will definitely get so much out of this video as a Newbie and I will absolutely use it to refer to!! So cool thx Bro another gr8 video regardless of the length of the video.. Thx from Vietnam 🇻🇳🙏🏻🙏🏻
Alex, you're the best. I did make the plunge last week at the reduced studio price. Are you planning more in depth on any of these features. Maybe picking out a few you always use and the detailed look would be very helpful. Thanks again.
accidentally ended up clicking on the timeline and skipping to 1:18 ... i was like ... what kinda video is this ? hahahahaahahha .... another Master Class by Alex. Thank you so much. I appreciate you big time.
Perfect!! The right balance of what it does, the basic controls and why to use it.... I just need to work out how to make my drone footage more interesting from all these wonderful things now :)
Alex, you saved my butt. I needed help figuring out how to search through all transcribed clips in the media pool at once. But then I saw your handy tip of placing all clips on a timeline and clicking the little timeline button above the transcription box. I have 20 hours of cell phone footage on the timeline, and the only way to organize it, other than face recognition and audio classification, is by transcribing the clips and searching for keywords. It works well. Would it not be cool if we can create a list of keywords we can find in transcribed clips and have them automatically tagged to clips. Tell them this would make me incredibly happy when you talk to Blackmagic next time!
Did Blackmagic make 10 bit editing available on the free version on Windows? My 10 bit footage plays back very smoothly after updating to 19.1 from 18.
@MrAlexTech Windows! It's 10 bit h.265 footage from the Panasonic S1. Usually it was a chug fest even at half the resolution, now it cuts 3 layers of 4k in this codec without a problem.
Thanks Alex for this tour of the Studio. One question that I couldn't find an answer for is: why would use effects on Color page instead of Edit page ? I typically use Color page to fix colour balance of Multicam shots. I've not yet found more uses for it. I tend to spend most of my Davinci time in the Edit, Fusion and Fairlight pages... Thanks in advance for your advices and congrats for your videos !
What a beast of a video this ended up being! It wasn't actually my plan initially but, I figured why not! And no, I'm still not being paid by Blackmagic for these 🤣 Hopefully useful for all using Studio!
Thank you!
Thankyou. I've had Studio and I still forget everything that's in it.
Thanks Alex. Very helpful!
Thanks, I'm literally sitting here with a note pad. So much helpful stuff here!!!!
They should be paying you top dollar for this! Amazing, useful, concise video. Great work!
Most valuable video on internet for DaVinci Resolve Studio owners! And those looking to buy.
This video is soooo helpful and extremely valuable. Im sure I will be referencing it often. Thanks a bunch for making it.
This video is a real Christmas gift thanks Alex
Christmas has come early with a one hour special. Awesome many thanks 👍👍

Hey! Thank you, I appreciate the kind words :) I aim to be more ‘I learnt this from my friend’ rather than ‘I learnt this in school’ presentation style 🙂
THIS IS AMAZING. Thank you so much for making this. I probably had to guess this took hundreds of hours to set up, record, and edit. Thank you!
Danke!
So awesome to have all this in one place. Thanks Alex. 🎉

I've just switched to Studio, so this video is very timely
So so good. A ready-reference all in one place. Thank you so much. Really appreciate the hours and hours and ... this must have taken to do.
Wonderful video! Like reading a large handbook in one hour!!! I will save for future reference. Thank you very much!
Just had to comment a 2nd time because I found this so useful. This will live in my Watch Later list as reference material for a long time! Thank you again 😁
Just two words Alex “ABSOLUTLY BRILLIANT”. Thank you.

Holy, What a behemoth of a features video. I've owned Resolve Studio for a while now but this will be an excellent refresher. Thanks, Alex!

Great overview!
This video is essential if you are new to DVR Studio, but it's also a very useful review for experienced users.

Nice video! DaVinci is packed with features, and your video ended up being like an index for quick reference to all of them.
You are the best man of DVR!!!

Haha it always makes me laugh too 😄😄
Thanks. Very less videos for Studio are out there. Watched it all, Didn't knew 65% of them existed.
awesome Alex 👏👍
Advantages and or disadvantages applying the various tools on color/fusion or edit page.
That would be a nice add on to this great video.
Thank you!
Super TUTO !!!! Bravo

@@MrAlexTech 🤣 👍
Thank you for this video
Did Blackmagic make 10 bit editing available on the free version on Windows? My 10 bit footage plays back very smoothly after updating to 19.1 from 18.
Mac or Windows?! And its technically not 10 bit specifically, but also the codec used as well. It’s annoyingly complex!
