The thing with objects moving in a scaled down version of the trajectory they would’ve been moving is that because gravity and friction does not get scaled down, things happen way faster than they would on a larger scale, for example if you set a pendulum with an arm length of 30 feet and set another with the arm length of 3 feet and pull them up to the same angle and relase them, the 3 feet long pendulum will do multiple swings while 30 feet one is tryna complete one swing cuz the gravity acting to the small pendulum is way more relative to it’s size than the big pendulum that has a larger size in the same environment. Micro quads in general are the same story, you actually need to mostly what you do with a 5 inch but in fraction of the time. If you were to dive a skyscraper instead of a playground slide with a whoop you’d realise how much slower it actually falls compared to a 5 inch other than being hard to recover due to the ducts. Tinywhoop simply appears to fall faster cuz with 5 inch you are diving a 3 story building height and you are diving a one and a half adult person tall playground slide with the tinywhoop. I would recommend getting used to ridiculously high rates like near 2000 degrees per second with your 5 inch comfortable drone if you struggle with the whoop, then use the same fast rates on your whoop to fly it like how you used to fly the 5 inch back in your slow rates but do everything in the fraction of the time
Yeah ive revently been flying tiny whoops around the house mainly because the weather has been so crappy in the UK 😂 but it has really helped my 5 inch game. I have come to the conclusion that sticl time is stick time whatever your flying! Great video!🔥keep em coming!
Nice video. What I really like about the 75mm whoop class in particular is that I can rip my back yard every day it's not raining or snowing. I can't do that with my 5inch. So I can actually fly the 75mm every day. No bad run-ins with idiots at the park, and I can fly it 20x as often as a 5 inch.
In swimming they say to learn all of the strokes. Just to get a better feel for the water. Anyways I’ve seen that in a lot of other things as well. I’ve gotten into sim racing just to get better at line choice. I might try 3d one day but not anytime soon lol. Whoops are really challenging I fly horizon inside and I still have to be fast on the sticks.I’m surprised I didn’t see any yaw wash!
In my humble experience is the big difference isbthrottle control. Whoop you gotta re learn throttle. Maybe not re learn but handle it differently. The lighter the whoop the more responsive.
Tinywhoops are hard at first, but just like when we all first started flying, at some point it just clicks. I still suck with whoops especially inside but getting better. 🤞🤞
Yes 100% I find myself when switching between tiny whoop and 5 inch is muscle memory is all off. I get it back within a pack or two but right out of the gate switching def messes me up
tiny whoops are great imo they teach you so much about recovering from almost crashes :D also why does everyone think that heavy quads drop faster than light quads? weight doesnt effect that or does it?
@@Kmart_FPV heavy objects fall at the same rate (or speed) as light ones the acceleration due to gravity is about 10 m/s^2 everywhere around earth so all objects experience the same acceleration when they fall only thing that might make it feel a whoop droping different from a 5" is drag and maybe idle motor rpm? i know myself that it feels different but i think its caused by the fact that you whoop closer to objects and the ground in general
@@Kmart_FPV ye bardwell could do a 1 hour vid about that ^^ i see often that people think that heavier quads drop faster i think its a interesting topic

@@Kmart_FPV Same man. That and Majora's Mask are my all time favourite games. Ive got the mask tattoo'd on my foot and a Legend of Zelda mashup tattoo on my arm! Best of luck to you as well and keep ripping!
The reason that it feels like it drops quicker is actually BECAUSE it is lighter. The lower mass causes it to have less inertia: gravity can pull it downwards much quicker than a heavier quad.
It’s fun as hell! I do have to re-record this week’s challenge though. I realized my tricks weren’t obvious enough last week and this edit doesn’t show three power loops. No big deal though, it’s easy enough to set up my gates in the yard.
Have you tried setting air mode to a switch and trying to see what the difference is practically while flying? Also, did you turn on crash recovery? :) Happy flyin' mate!
Crash recovery is on my list. I’m scared to turn air mode off, but I’m considering programming it so that it’s off when at zero throttle. Thanks for the tips, though!
@@Kmart_FPV I set air mode up on a 3-way switch along with air mode + idle up. :) Sadly, I don't have a little whoop to fuss with yet. I do, just not a tiny whoop. heh. Cheers!
Yep, I'm in the same predicament. Picked up a Mobula 6 a few months ago and been having a bunch of fun but still can't get a good freestyle flight. What rates are you using? I also haven't flown my 5" in months as we've been having some bad weather off and on her in SoCal as well but can't wait to get back in the air soon. @@Kmart_FPV Yeah Man. All good. New job also has me very busy. That plus fishing season is right around the corner for me so getting ready for that. I do a lot of Saltwater fishing for SoCal Saltwater Anglers 🤙🏻
I have a tinywhoop, absolutely hate it. I got it to learn to fly 'for real' in addition to the sim. Then I found that it flies nothing like a real quad anyway, so I should have just spent the money on extra batteries and maybe some replacement frames for my 3.5" quad. It's basically like flying a twitchy brick rather than a quadcopter.
Agreed. For the longest time, I only flew my whoop on angle and really just to terrorize my dogs. It wasn’t until this quad and the WeBleedFPV batteries that make me feel confident to try tricks

Tiny Whoops are hard! Everything is on "fast mode" you got no hang time to work with!

You have a lot of wash because HDZero is heavier. Analog you wouldn't have the wash nearly as bad.

Sort of... But less inertia lets drag kick in quicker and lift to be lost. Gravity doesn't "kick in" it's always pulling
Gravity affects all quads the same, regardless of mass
