Update. I put the new battery in, tried all the circuits and it works good. Had a opportunity to help someone with a dead battery and in couple minutes, it started the car. VERY happy with the results. And that I now have this in my car for emergencies. Thanks again for the excellent video.
Awesome. I was just given one of these that has a bad battery. You explained it perfectly. In detail. And it is so very helpful to me. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. GREAT work.
I started your video thinking that I needed to take out all the screws. Nope. Remove screws for service door and the rubber base. Lift out door. Grab the battery by the sides and giggle it out. Disconnect the two copper 90's from the battery posts. Slide out yhe battery. Simple.
I replaced the battery a few months ago, easy peasy. But I let a coworker try to jump a company van and they touched the pos and neg cables to the pos terminal in the van. The tech support for schumacher wasn't keen on me poking around inside, but this guy found a fuse that may be my problem. Thanks.
Nice. I need a battery and glad about the the safety feature on the jumpers. Another model showed the battery was accessible and removable through the back panel . Guess depends on the model, year made.
I have this same model and when I plug something into the AC plug it shows r02 (overload) in the display window. My buddy has the same model and we tested his with same item plugged in and item worked fine. Any idea what may be causing this?
I am not sure what the R01 code is. The manufacturer may be able to help you with this. I do know the main issue with this devices have is a failed battery, however, from your description it sounds like may be an issue with the inverter.
Good Question! I first I went to my local electronic shop and they directed to me to local company that sells every kind of lead acid battery under the sun. They took one look at it and said, we have that. I would look in your local listings under car batteries.

Just tore down my own Schumacher SJ1332 (note there are not 3 threes in the model number). Thanks for the tips!
Thank you for the information on the model number. I have corrected it.

I have the Schumacher SJ1427 model of 1500w and I would like to know if I can replace the battery with a LiFePo4 Battery 12.8v 40Ah 12v Lithium
LiFePo4 batteries are charged differently than lead-acid gel-cells. So you need to stick with lead-acid gel-cells.
Appreciate the tips, I was about to trash mine for the same reason. Thanks
Glad I could help
What size are the security torx screws that hold the housing together?
I replaced all the torx screws with phillips screwes so I am not sure. They might have been T15 or T20.

Good Info. I want to add an external 12v charger to it. Knowing Batt id diret to leads is good to know. Brighter light and a close up would be helpful
Thank you for the input.
