I just discovered your page! I’m in Minnesota zone 4b I’m excited to follow along with you since you are the same zone.
I just started my cut flower journey two years ago. This is my third year. It’s been fun!

I did some on a wicking mat to keep my soil blocks moist.

Vermiculite sprinkled on each cell at planting helps retain moisture for them to germinate and grow. Also, I use a mister daily on each cell. In March, I pot the lisianthus seedlings into a 32 cell flat, which gets them to grow their roots. This yields a larger plant to plant outside in April.

Glad you did this video! I’m also in WI Z5a and was thinking this is the year I might try Lisianthis. I’ve seen others start them in December. I don’t need much for seeds this year and was in the throws of trying to find all that I need in one company and it’s proving difficult. Lisianthis seed is not found locally. It’s the shipping by dollar amount that is so expensive.
I don’t plan on starting too many flowers this year as I have a lot of new perennials that just finished sleeper stage.
When did yours start blooming? I didn’t realize there were different bloom times/varieties.

Go for it! I think Monarch Gardens for seeds is a great way to get a few seeds for less money and their shipping was reasonable. Last year mine didn't Bloom until August but I don't think they loved the spot they had in my garden (not enough compost or sun). Good luck!!
