I also love Fort Lee as I heard about it from Flower Hill Farm, but you still need to screen out some larger bits to use the soil blocker. Great product though. That was a tremendous bargain from Jake!! Hopefully the germination is still high on the lisis I know I tried to use older seed and failed to get hardly any to germ. Good Luck, and thank you for your content, you are very well spoken and easy to listen to! :)
Thank you so much! And yes - I pull out the larger chunks - not very hard to do so but definitely works better with the soil blocker. I am loving the medium so far!
Im starting lisianthus for the first time this year but just 2 colors to get my feet wet. I use Vermont compost for all my soil blocking. I definitely would screen it though and it looks like you might want to make your mixture for soil blocking a little wetter. It will hold the blocks together better for when you water them otherwise the blocks fall apart quickly. Good luck with all the new spaces this year. Cant wait to see the progress on the new building. 💐
We used that fort vee compost last year for our soil blocks and it worked great! We did find that also sifting it made it even better because there were some barky pieces on occasion which you wouldn’t want in your blocks but it holds together so nice & compact. So many lizzie’s for you to look forward to! ☺️
Yay I started my lisianthus yesterday and so excited! I think I bought way too many but I just loved all the options and happy to share the extra’s with neighbors and my sister
I got the box from Jake as well and couldn't believe the stash I got either! Heads up that I think the Sapphire Series (Blue and Blue Chip) are pot size and only get to 6" tall, so probably not worth tunnel space. I'm thinking they will be very petty in containers. I only got the Blue and think you're lucky to have the Blue Chip to mix the two together! And congrats on the new space! It will be fun to watch it come together.
Looooove Corelli light pink! Not as ruffled as other varieties, but the dark center with the light pink petals get me. This year I saved seed and didn’t buy any and they had great germination! I know they don’t always bloom true to color, but I’m ok with that for the savings
It was really late though! Last year was my 1st year growing Lisianthus. Even though I started them in December, this variety didn’t bloom until mid/late September. I knew it was a later bloomer but I didn’t know it’d be that late.
Thanks!! Love your videos keep em coming please ..Jake is great.

I always have great luck with the ABC series. I will make sure to do update videos on how they are growing and what my favorites end up being!
I used that soil for my lisis last year and those trays and it worked fantastic and they did awesome! Good luck. I'm starting mine next week.

Ooh glad to hear! I’ve never grown it before
I grew that last year and it was stunning! I actually liked it better than the ruffled varieties.

Hi Christine.. ❤ what is your zone and LFD? Thanks much!
Zone 5A, last frost date typically 2nd week of October-ish...
Started lisianthus for the first time, hopefully i won't mess it up lol. I am also trying the winter sowing in bottles for the first time😮
Good luck! Lisianthus are tricky but winter sowing works great! My first couple years of lisianthus were total fails. 🤣
