Man, I've been kicking the idea around about getting a 3D printer, I probably will with all the cool gear to make. I did these videos! Keep'em coming!!

Really cool video. I love to see what you can do with 3D printing for outdoor use. My nephew printed a travel shaving lather bowl for me that piqued my interest in 3D.

Happy New Year Ernie and family 1st. Glad about this new channel btw and looking forward to supporting it however. I've been 3D Printing for about 5 years amongst other things (maker space @home) and just an FYI, there are many other sites as well besides "Thingiverse" which seem supported better now. LMK if you want to know them unless you already do or can pass on for other readers. Crazy about all our weather too as we live in central Alabama and its been crazy here as well. If you're ever over this way, LMK, and we can do something. On a side note,,,Trangia for the Win!!!!~ Almost forgot, I do OnShape (SolidWorx) and Fusion 360 as well

Good stuff! Just got an ender 3 myself for Christmas and printed a case for my diy file knife. I was successful on the 4th attempt! HA! Not as nice as the morakniv ones, but it keeps my knife and my hands safe. I really appreciate this second channel. Keep up the good work!

Good stuff, Ernie! I'm not terribly productive with my printed objects yet. I'm still just messing around to learn the ropes. I never thought of searching for things to help with camping gear. Thanks, Doc! Stay well.

Not so much into the stove refurbishment but this is great content for me! Would like to see reviews of other makers products especially ones that are really clever or unique e.g. something like the paracord holder.

    Good stuff.
It is just as fast and easy to tie cordage into a storage knot, imo. Look up "gasket coil."

Yes, I do like your 3D printing videos. And hey, printing is a lot cheaper than stove collecting!
(Though it does lead me to wonder how long it would take the Ender 3 hot end to boil 2 cups of water... 😁)

I have an ender 3v2 and have printed a few of these before. It's been sitting for months after failing to install a BLtouch but you got me wanting to put it back together. Thanks for the video.

    • @fookingsog
      @fookingsog Рік тому +1

Loose the BLTouch, use a sheet of G10 Garolite lightly sprayed with AquaNet hairspray, binder clipped to the aluminum plate to print on heated to 60°C. Only level your bed while it's hot as it will take into account any aluminum bed warpage when hot. Just use a simple sheet of copy paper slipped between the nozzle and print bed as a spacing gauge.

Food safe products have to be printed on a food safe machine. That said there arent any dedicated food safe machines i know of considering they all can be sanitized, BUT once a non-foodsafe material goes through it its no longer a food safe machine due to residues left behind.

Careful with the match box!! When i was a kid we made small firecrackers by putting matches and strikers in enclosed spaces. i would not recommend it!

You need to start a store to sell these things. U could sell a 30 cent product for 5 bucks plus shipping and sell all u want. Just a thought id buy it

Most of these models are NOT licensed for commercial sale. They are free to print for yourself, but PLEASE review and follow the license listed on the model page.

If you document your learning as you start to design your own (or even just save the wisdom for a "here's what I've learned designing my own 3d prints" type video after you have some designs under your belt) that would be a great resource and interesting

I said it once and i'll say it again, switch to CLIPPER Lighters and you wont be disappointed. Replaceable flints, refillable, and more heat resistant plastic!

One thing I will say, filament (as of 2 years ago) was not deemed food safe. I would never print anything to hold food or to eat with. I'm sure there is specialized filament but that's only helpful for people who have been printing for a while and have found out down the road. Beginners wouldn't know any better.

You could apply a food-safe epoxy resin as a coating to ensure its safety for food contact to ensure safety though pla is generally considered food safe
