    It was really considerate of the Owner Pilot to allow the video to be shown, and its appreciated.
    I am particularly impressed with the thoroughness, calming and encouraging manner of the Instructor Pilot, and the radio update transmissions.
    Gentle guidance, advice, and communication was outstanding, and a real pleasure to see.
    I'm very pleased to have found this channel and to have subscribed.

    Mark, I have a new A600 on order, first deliver is set for May. I purchased it sight unseen after watching videos here on UA-cam. Seeing that you have a new model, it would be great to see a thorough walkthrough video of the ship, glass cockpit, and any tips or tricks used during the build. I’m running out of videos to watch, lol
    Thanks much, I really enjoyed this video and could spend hours watching them

    i visited Rotorway and flew an A600 in the spring of 2019. The price then was around $108K. I was ready to buy in early 2020 and when I checked the price it had jumped to $150k which was above my budget which was tight at 108K. So, I switched gears and bought a RANS S-21 kit. Then a year or so later, the kit price was back down to closer to 100K again. Oh well, I’m having great fun building the S-21 even though it will take much longer to build than an A600.

      Thats the point. Some people may like the style of piloting the helo, some the classic look. Not everyone is embracing the "new" technologies and as a matter of fact some detest the rush to change everything and the "out with the old and in with the new" mentality.

    FADEC... so, there's no coordinated throttle adjustment with collective (i.e. twist-up, twist-down)? COOL!!! One less monkey skill to worry about (unless, however... can the pilot practice a simulated emergency FADEC failure?). Besides autos, what other simulated emergencies can a pilot practice with the Phoenix?

    Air frame is retired after 2000 hrs
    Is this true

    • @AirMark
      @AirMark  Рік тому +5

      Yes, the airframe is retired at 2000 hours. To my knowledge, I do not know of an RotorWay airframe that has accumulated that many hours. I have heard one the factory trainers around 2003 was nearing 1800 hours. I never heard after that if it went to 2000. In addition, I do not know of any RotorWay owner who has passed 1000 hours, except for my personal helicopter. It is now just over 1100 hours after 20 years.
      We need to understand a personal helicopter such as the RotorWay flown for flight training and sport flying will not accumulate flight hours like a personal fixed wing airplane. Most RotorWay owners after they have completed their flight training will fly 30 to 50 hours a year. So 2000 hours is a long time.

    is the "Experimental" label required for these types of experimental aircraft ? it has such a negative connotation for the public that reads it and doesn't know the exact meaning...ie...[its not a real aircraft/helicopter bacause its only built as an experiment]....type of interpretaion by the general public.

    I heard you say you were hovering about Altimeter pressure 31 in, and that was your takeoff and climb power for a normal takeoff. About how much more power did you need to do the max performance takeoff?

    • @AirMark
      @AirMark  2 роки тому +4

      The turbo powerplant allows for a maximum of 40 inches of manifold pressure. Typically, at gross weight the helicopter will require 29 to 31 inches to hover. The maximum performance in this video used 35 inches for the departure. The turbo boost is 2 to 3 PSI.
