❤❤ love your content keep it up. I am glad we get a new AOC content creator like you. I like narc but he too much of a clown sometimes. Needed some new creators thanks
09:48 Yes, Tank/Cleric is Paladin, but if you want something akin to Retribution Paladin from WoW you should be Highsword and if you want to be Holy Paladin you should role Templar.
The Game snapshots the gear you had on, when you did your kill that made you corrupted. Even if you unequip it afterwards, it can still be lost upon death.
I don't have a question but One of my worries is mega corporation like guilds completely dominating. Like the whole map being controlled by Same Guild 1 and Same Guild2, 3 and so on. I wonder how newer guilds will be able to stand up to older guilds. How much of guild wars will be strategy and how much will be just getting stat checked
World is way too big to be dominated like that. You'd have to have a guild with thousands of people online at once. Maybe a few servers might have a mega guild like this, but even then, there is a lot that can be done as a smaller guild in terms of trade.
There will always be large guilds. Join one, or learn to live in a world where most people like joining a group. My large guild tries hard to be a blessing to the players around them. That play style is the most rewarding imo.
@@GrappLr If it the size of the world was the only obstacle in the way of "mega corporation guilds" then I would point you to Eve Online, I have not personally played it, but they can take up such huge amounts of space and have huge guild numbers. I think the primary obstacle though will not be size, but something Pirate Software said, just under a different context and talking about how it relates to something else, and its how "Sov" would work. Apparently in Eve Online, if you want to play within a specific region, but a guild has control over it, and you are not part of that guild, then you cannot play within that region. "Sov" in Ashes is not tied to Guilds, but Nodes and the Mayors, which means someone doesn't have to be a part of the guilds to be involved within that area. Since they are not incentivized to be a part of one very specific guild, there is no need for the mega-corp guilds to form. A lot of the political structure tied to the Nodes and surrounding the nodes will be what prevents these mega-corpo guilds from emerging. One other way this shows itself is in how Artisanship works, you need a group of people dedicated to it to truly make use of it, with different roles, this promotes Artisan Guilds, but it also means that people who prioritize Artisanship will be focused on finding those guilds and will be unlikely to join another type of guild. As you said before too, there will be guilds which may be more like mercenaries or bodyguards, which focus on PvP, but in this case they are likely to not have much artisans, and they also will likely be less focused on more PvE focused content and the stuff you gain from it. The politics between the Mayor and all these other guilds, should prevent specific guilds from taking over, and if they do, then there is always the risk of those other guilds doing a node war or pulling some other political stunt to overthrow them. I do also think while not the primary obstacle, I think the a smaller but additional obstacle will be the player cap within guilds, and the benefits a "small guild" are supposed to get over a "large guild"(and however Intrepid intends to impliment that).
I talked about it I think during a special ranger panel, and it complicated balance by a ton of spells are individually affected on range by different weapons
@@GrappLr fair enough. I'm guessing they are referring to the imbued arrows primarily. Hopefully they find a way around it but I guess we'll see. I like weapons being vastly different from each other rather than being just a slightly different flavor.
One thing I've been wondering about is how well the whole "melting pot" idea with regards to the 9 races & the Node system is going to play out lorewise. Steven has said that he doesn't want race to dictate a person's allegiance so much as Background, Religion, etc., and it's kind of explained with the Divine Gateways & the idea that you're all survivors looking to re-colonize Verra...but IMO it would still feel kind of weird to me playing through the Human starting area (the only one available atm) as say for instance a Vek. I also kind of worry that the Node system could ultimately lead to a situation where the 3 or 4 most popular races control like 90% of the Nodes, and the rest of the races can barely even get a foothold in Verra outside of their starting cities.
Corrupt can't unequip, trade, store, or drop anything once they go corrupt. They WILL lose 1-3 pieces they had on the character at the time of corruption. PLUS if they pick anything up after Corruption, it stays on them as well and can be lost.
About pvping against ranged classes, they need to add skills that interrupt casting spells or actual ccs, roots and slows dont really work on mages that have the same range as an archer
@GrappLr Did you ever play Guild Wars 1? I remember it having very creative cross class builds. Like Thumper Ranger; a Ranger/Warrior who mainly used Warrior hammer skills for CCs and their Ranger stances for speed/evasion/kiting. I've always found stuff like this interesting, flipping the class fantasy on its head. I hope AoC has a bit of this.
With there not being many wipes, im looking forward to playing many classes. Rather indecisive and i love many classes/combos. Not gonna lie, part of me, since its a alpha, wishes we could change archetypes or secondary archetypes at least for testing.
So there will be battle pets made in Animal Husbandry and all classes will be able to use a battle pet but it will be at a cost of stats to your character.
Instead of wipes they can just pause servers temporarily and host fresh servers for a day or two for testing launch conditions. Then just reopen the old servers after.
Owning a plot of land is going to be quite difficult and many people will be competing for them. Not impossible, but it'll take quite a lot of work to get a freehold.
@@Delphinad7 You might not be entirely out of luck though. There will still be a ton of freeholds, and IDK what the math is, but if you put in the work and play decent hours, if it's really your goal, you could get one.
It was always very buggy in tests, so it'll take some time until they refine it and fix those issues. Too early to tell how strong it is, what's intended, what's a bug.
Any idea if we will have a druid, and if so will he be able to shape-shift into another animal and if so will the name of player be removed, I hated it in other MMOs when the shape-shift form of the player had the name above him literary announce to everyone that this is not an NPC animal but a player, the whole idea of shapeshifting for me was to disguise myself in the group of the animals I have taken the form and use it to my advantage as surprise ambush attack... rather than just for the powers that come from taking that animal form! Or the name should not be revealed till you enter the combat at least ! Sorry for the bad grammar English is my 2nd language!
You absolutely can. You still suffer the big exp debt (corrupted gets a lot more than normal death), which sucks at higher levels. Also, I know when you die, items you drop don't all get dropped, some get destroyed (talking materials). This may be true for equipable items as well?
da fak ...so now girlyman put names grapler ??? buahahaahha, one hit and i let this one without his girly hair BUAAAAAAHa ..yeah many think if they look at fight they know to fight and thiose girlyman longhair that shave their asss think are hard if they put a grape name

Very nice
You’re getting good viewership on these ashes videos man.
It's still too early to tell, but we'll see how YT treats us in the coming weeks! Thanks for being part of the viewership

What if you store it?
How does mob feeding work to avoid corruption?
Interesting. So that’s why you can’t store stuff when corrupt?
I like the Q&A, and nice to see people are interested in this
I love talking Ashes, this was a great way to bring it to YT as well

unless they have like 100 guilds, thats not possible because the map is too big, player base on one server is too big and guilds are too small

Best content for Ashes I've seen yet, very informative!
I'm hoping the longbows range gets increased as if feels too similar in playstyle to the shortbow.

I never got into GW1. I was mostly a runescape player back in the day.
Gw1 also had great pvp
It will probably be like reverse runescape where it will literally take your 3 most valuable pieces of gear

Corrupted drop their inventory as well. Removing gear would mean you’d drop more gear.
Apparently they added a new starting area on PTR, any chance we get it on friday?
So there will be battle pets made in Animal Husbandry and all classes will be able to use a battle pet but it will be at a cost of stats to your character.
So I remember some talk of this. Should be interesting

excited to try this on the 8th!

Wait when did Grap play Valheim? Otherwise why does he have the OST on the background lol! I need the full playthrough link xD
I played a bit on stream more offstream
Can't you justask a friend to PK you back to remove the corrumption ? So he can give your stuff back ?

A proposition: check the upcoming Drakantos - pixel art MMO RPG made by Brasilian studio :)
Nothing to do with ashes but i can hear a noticeable pitch whenever you talk

I think you have the wrong timestamp?
