Masterson, Nice video on souping 8x10 film. May I offer you an alternate way to cool developer? Another photographer once suggested that filling 32 ounce plastic chemical bottle with water and freezing it would allow me to cool off hot developer without diluting it. Of course, you could put ice cubes into a plastic Ziploc bag as well. Btw, how do you like shooting 8x10? Have you seen Yousef Karsh's work? Karsh did most if not all of his portraiture with an 8x10.
That’s a great suggestion with the cooling of chemicals! I will try that. I have not heard of that photographer but will check him out! I love shooting with 8x10. It’s much more cumbersome and slow but it’s more rewarding 😊
In the late seventies I assisted a photog who shot 8x10 and 5x7 food sets. Immediately I was seduced by those 8x10 Ektachromes. Nothing like them. He shot with an 8x10 Deardorf and an array of lenses. Before that, I worked in a B&W lab where the master printer worked with an 8x10 Durst enlarger in his mural room. Incredible prints. Glad to see that you're carrying on the 8x10 tradition.
Great video. Lovely work.
Thank you!
You've got some serious kit there.
Thank you!
