I've been a fan of Danielle Panabaker for years. I first saw her in Sky High (2005). I took our only child, who was 5 at the time, to the theater on a daddy-daughter evening. We both loved it. I bought the DVD when it came out. Our next child was born not much later. I would watch Sky High with both our daughters. Such a great movie, with such great messages for kids and young teens. And while I'm normally irked by the dumb dad trope, Kurt Russell played it so perfectly, I didn't care. And Danielle was so good in her role (the entire cast was), and her character was such a great role model for girls, if I ever met her, I'd thank her for that and the memories made with my girls watching Sky High with them over the years 😊
Yeah her performance was always really good, but during the last 3 seasons, they ruined her. Killing off both Frost and Caitlin, replacing her with Khione who I did not give a damn about.
Oh and on another note the first time I met Danielle Panabaker was at DragonCon when my girlfriend wanted to meet her. I had no idea who she was but she was very friendly. Then maybe a year or two later I got into The Flash and was like "oh hey it's her!" So the next time I had a chance to meet Danielle (again at DragonCon) I told her that story and again she was incredibly nice. It's always such a relief to meet an actor and they turn out to be as nice as you hoped they'd be!
Oh wow! I've loved Danielle since Empire Falls, Mom at 16, Searching for David's Heart, Sky High etc, etc! So many things! She's super inspiring! What a wonderful conversation. I loved the openness and vulnerability! As a 33 year old woman, I love hearing two women in the industry just talking about everything!😮
Another lovely conversation! I remember that Randolph Scott once said that as an actor you should live, if at all possible, on 10% of what you make and save the rest. And by "save" he meant invest slowly and maturely. He could always be found on set reading the Wall Street Journal between takes. Golden Age Hollywood actors invested in all manner of things, the smarter ones being real estate. Some ran side businesses -- Gail Patrick created and ran a children's clothing store on Rodeo Drive for several years until she became the Executive Producer of the Perry Mason TV series thanks to her longtime business acumen and her then-husband's relationship with the famous character's author Erle Stanley Gardner. She wrote her production company's contract for the series with CBS herself. By any account, a remarkable woman.
Great to see Danielle on the show... Danielle is awesome, my favorite person on the Flash and genuinely seems like great and nice person and incredibly beautiful and charismatic ! :)
@Katee Sackhoff I absolutely loved this interview with Danielle, who is so kind , down to earth and lovely.🤗 Caitlyn is my very favourite character on The Flash, so inspiring and Danielle also kicked ass as Frost. I enjoyed learning more about her and her acting and directing process. I find it so interesting to hear what actors/actresses go through, career wise. Katee, you completely rocked as Amunet. I also loved hearing about both of your thoughts on Motherhood. Katee, your daughter sounds so delightful, so unique🤩...who knows she may head into acting with her little dramatic ways. I was in tears when you spoke about what that studio executive stated to you and your tears of joy in the birthing room. 🤗
TIL the chemistry between Danielle Panabaker and Katee Sackhoff is they worked together in the flash 2014. Panabaker played the main character Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost/Khione and Sackhoff played the Amunet Black as a guest star.
You girls are just so honest, and real. So genuine and down to earth! I can't imagine what I would have told that Exec that told Katee it's a good thing that she can't have children! I mean the cruelty and horrible things people can say! I love you both so much and wish you both the best in all your endeavors and pursuits!
Terrific interview. I am a huge fan of Mrs. Panabaker's because the circumstances of her character arc when The Flash began were sadly similar to mine, grieving a recently lost love/spouse. I had been a fan of Arrow from the start so leading into the Flash was natural and the writing and her portrayal of those moments of pain and working through them were very impactful for me, I love your podcast because every time I feel smarter and more informed than I was before watching in a number of areas. You are doing great work with great people and your sharing these interviews with us is greatly valued and appreciated.
Another great show! The parent talk was my favorite. The only advice I give parents is you're not raising children, you're guiding little adults. Seems like you're both doing that. I let my kids do whatever they wanted to try as long as it was safe and meaningful. They are little recorders. They might say something you said weeks ago that you have already forgotten. I always told them the truth and led by example. Even now that they are in their 30's, they both recognize I did that and feel okay to come to me when they need "Dad".
This was a great Podcast! Danielle is def one of my favs from Flash aside from Grant and of course Katee is always awesome in everything she does. Wonderful real life personalities!
I love Danielle, she is just down to earth humble and kind person, which is very rare these days. I enjoyed her performance in The Flash even though the quality of the show went downhill after season 3, and i really liked her in Friday The 13th 2009 movie.
Hi I'm a male listener Heterosexual father of 3 grown kids But really enjoyed the interview Made it through to the end I saw you on Michael Rosenbaum Inside of You Was looking for Michaels then saw Danielle who I watched every season of the Flash Was fun getting to know her better
Katee, you're such a good friend to interview with. I can see how comfortable people are when they're talking with you. Seeing this back to back with you and Rosie's recent IoU episode... gah... Thank you for doing this.
This interview episode was AMAZING!! I love the flash tv show, I have watched it 2x times, Caitlyn Snow, (Danielle Panabaker) is one of my FAVORITE actresses!! Her role in the FLASH tv show was absolutely mind blowing she is a talented actress!
Excellent work, Katee! Your interview with Danielle was fantastic. It demonstrates your increased confidence in asking questions and your overall development. Keep kicking ass! 💪
Oh Katee, always the humble one….youre directing right now. You’re doing it every day you do this podcast and you are natural at this. People love you because you are so open and honest and you bring that out in others.
I have been telling my friends for a long time that if Warner Brothers would just take the Flash TV series and what they did there and just basically copy that to the big screen they would have a hit. Considering the fact the people that take care of the DC movies don't seem to be hitting it like they did with the flash on the series.
Had the pleasure and honor to meet both of you at FanExpo last year. Just two classy lovely down to earth ladies!!! I wish you both all the very best!!
I wonder if Danielle can get what's known as PRK, because I wasn't a candidate for Lasik either because my eyesight was 20/280. and my eyes were too thin. I was one step away from being legally blind, I could barely see to drive WITH glasses which looked like they were made with the same material they make for armored car windows. Without glasses there was no way I could have driven a car even in the day. I had mine done with the PRK in 2005 and my vision is still 20/20. It actually went to 20/10 but now it's 20/20 after 19 years, best decision I ever made.
Hi Katee, excellent interview, really big fan of the Flash, watched it from the start. You are really good at this, such different people on the show, insights into their lives. The Veterinarian was an amazing person as well, such a big heart. Love the show, please don't stop!!! Cheers, have a nice day.
Been waiting for this interview ever since she started this podcast. Was not sure when she did it but here it is. Enjoyed the conversation between the 2 on Screen Rivals on the Show The Flash. Had no idea what those 2 went through when they were on that show.
You are one of the best interviewers ever! This is the first episode I’m watching, and it is phenomenal. Your questions are intentional, you let your guest actually speak and follow through with their thought, and I was never bored. Brava!👏👏👏👏👏♥️ I love you both as artists, strong, working, mothers, and what seems to be really good human beings.
this was a sucha brilliant chat Katee, loved Danielle in the Flash so to get to know her background with working with classic actors and everything else was a joy so thank you 🙂
The first movie I seen with Danielle, was sky high... Then fast forward to the flash... Definitely a great actress and hope continuing success for her...

It was so unfair when the news came out for a new flash movie without you guys. You simply created the greatest universe with so many characters and returning stars that I was completely disappointed for that new "out of the blue guy" chosen to be the flash. And honestly turned to be the biggest pain in the ### ever. It was wrong and I'm sure they understood it too late.
Another great interview, Katee! Danielle is so smart and engaging. Keep up the momentum! Great job! See you next week. P.S. I know you have to book guests weeks, if not months in advance, but I would like to see you interview Christy Carlson Romano. You're both about the same age, have kids and have seen some stuff in both television and movies. Take care.
Knew of Katee Sackhoff for a long time, but seeing her character in "Riddick" (where I thought she was excellent with Vin Diesel) made me go back and look into her other work.
Does Katee take fan questions through any medium? I'm wanting to know everything about the Zola Jesus scene from Another Life. How it was written in the script? Who came up with the cinematography? Did they have the song in mind first and film the scene to fit the score? Was it a different camera used than typical scenes and if so what was the reason from a filming standpoint? I can watch that scene 100 times and still get chills every time - the slow pan from a Katee closeup left/right to show the chaos behind her isn't something I can recall seeing used anywhere outside of animation (reminded me of Legend of Korra when the "camera" is centered on Kai and slides right to reveal the guard standing behind him in the alley.) I tried to upload the scene to UA-cam but Netflix was having none of that - probably due to Zola Jesus score - but if folks didn't stick with Another Life long enough to get to that scene it's so worth it for film/cinematography buffs.
@26:15 Katee has mentioned that actors take home 1/5th of their pay several times on various podcasts. Where is the other 4/5ths going? Would love a breakdown on a nice round hypothetical $100,000 number. The actual $ number doesn't really matter, it's more about the percentages that are going out.
Katee: I did not know about the childbearing situation, so sorry to hear that! I must ask, how did you react when you saw the BSG script for when Rick Worthy's Cylon runs experimental surgery on Starbuck, robbing her of the means to bear kids?
Wow what an interesting person. I love hearing stories of people who want to do something and just keep learning and trying until they succeed. Also as someone who probably won't get to have kids the conversation about pregnancy and raising kids was fascinating. Though it makes me equal parts sad and angry on how their work industry treats pregnancy.
Wow, I had to look at several websites to get the conversion from 20/20 base numbers to diopter base numbers. I'm very nearsighted, 20/400 in one eye and 20/410 in the other, that equates to a -5 on the diopter scale. What that means is at 20 feet, I can see things the size that a person with 20/20 vision can see at 400 feet. To go 4 diopters past that, I can't imagine. The range to be legally blind is 20/200 or a diopter of -2.5, so we both qualify. Thankfully my vision can be corrected to 20/15.
That is so effing messed up what actresses have to deal with if/when they get pregnant. I've probably heard stories like that before but it's still shocking to hear your own experience with that and I am so so sorry that happened.

My daughter loved that movie, she just bought it for her son.
Danielle was really good on The Flash. Loved her character(s) and everything she did on the show. :)
Her and Katee both. Amunet was pretty funny 😂
I completely agree
yeah except staying.
i kinda hated her character at first... but she really grow to me as a essential part of the show
Yeah her performance was always really good, but during the last 3 seasons, they ruined her. Killing off both Frost and Caitlin, replacing her with Khione who I did not give a damn about.
killer frost and amunet black... best duo ever! definitely made my childhood with the flash

Great to see Danielle on the show... Danielle is awesome, my favorite person on the Flash and genuinely seems like great and nice person and incredibly beautiful and charismatic ! :)
I completely agree
I completely agree
I love Danielle Panabaker so much
Why can't you guys get together and be super Hero duo. Definite chemistry
Love that you interviewed her! She was awesome on The Flash!
Danielle is an inspiration for women to show you can lead a "normal" life in a Hollywood world. So grounded and talented.
I miss Flash. Was such a fun show to watch.
season 1 was a masterpiece
Felt it was very disappointing last season though.
@@skatedurrseason one was 11/10
Season two 10/10 season 3 9/10 seasons 4 8.5/10 it went downhill after that
@@SEWY7. Nah, it got bad after season 2. 3 & 4 was bad.

Great interview again Katee! Loved hearing from Danielle and I loved her in the flash she did great on the show!
Love the new studio Katee! Another excellent interview. Love Danielle's work and particularly a fan of Sky High. That movie rules!
I’ve always wanted actors to explain their lives. I love podcast like this. This is very insightful.

Great Podcast Beautiful Katee with the Always Beautiful Danielle!!! I always enjoyed her on Sky High and The Flash!!!
Katee, I've seen 2 of your podcasts so far... Your doing GREAT! Thank you for all you do. :)
I noticed her in Shark. Small, but pivotal role, grounding the character of James Woods. Kudos to her!

Fun interview. I was a touch skeptical at the beginning of your new podcast, but you were correct. The world needs “blah blah blah”..

@LaraA55 don't you mean Grant Gustin not Grant Austin Austin is a American guitarist.

Really enjoying your show and guests. Danielle was enjoyable to hear. Bravo Moms!
"On Flash, when you're moving so fast..." Badum tish
Danielle, I feel you, girl. My eyes are -11 in both eyes! I'm only 4 minutes in the show and I already love it! 😁
Danielle has always been so lovely. All these interviews have been great! Keep em comin!
I love her hairs !!! (I'm French)
I remembered her from Justified. she so talented. will have to watch some of her other stuff.
Danielle just shines in everything she does. Just showed my kids Sky High, and enjoyed every bit of it even more as an adult. 🎉
Danielle and Katee, that was so unexpected but I love this episode so much!

So awesome to see Flashies stars reunite and chat it up so luv Katee's content!
Another great interview, Katee! Danielle is so smart and engaging. Keep up the momentum! Great job! See you next week. P.S. You're both about the same age, have kids and have seen some stuff in both television and movies. Take care.
Awesome interview. Immediately subscribed to the channel. Got to meet Danielle a couple of years ago. She's so kind, and obviously very beautiful.

This is another great podcast. Thanks for doing it.
This is really cool!
Katee:
I did not know about the childbearing situation, so sorry to hear that! I must ask, how did you react when you saw the BSG script for when Rick Worthy's Cylon runs experimental surgery on Starbuck, robbing her of the means to bear kids?
I forgot Katee was on The Flash. I loved her ont hat.
The best! greetings from Peru!
omg i love Danielle!!
Hey, nice new digs there, studio looks and sounds awesome.
1st thing I saw Danielle in was Sky High loved her eversince shes awesome
Great show as always.
