I was raised to start once they can walk, nothing major but children love to help and its trains them into the habit of cleanliness. Making it fun with rewards and making it a family effort is the best way to do! Everyone can have their own responsibilities and it definitely builds good characteristics, a healthy relationship with routine, they gain confidence, & independence early on. So it’s a win win situation, you’re doing such a good job raising the children.

The one time I had my son, who was 6 at the time, help me clean the bathroom, he used Windex for EVERYTHING! I was so distraught that I never had him clean again, lol. He's 18 now and much better at it, thank GOD! 😊

I agree with you about having them help and teaching them young. My mom never showed us girls or let us help. I am 56 and I hate to clean to this day. I do it but don't like it. I'm blessed to be able to have someone come it 2x a month and deep clean. I believe that was her biggest fault with us growing up. Our house was spotless she cleaned every day because she really enjoyed it. But my sisters and I don't like doing it and I think it is because we never had to and wasn't taught the proper way. You are an awesome mom and very blessed family.
