  • in this video I show everyone the special feature of the chevy avalanche. This truck has a foldable midgate option. the foldable midgate option is great for when you need to stow lumber, sheetrock and many other things. another feature with the midgate is that the entire middle section can fold down. this give you room to store an quad or a dirt bike in the rear of the avi.

When these AVY 1st came out 2001 at carshow at NRG. I went saw this baby and knew I needed for all my hunting needs. The next year they were available to public... I was the 3rd one bought in Texas(had special order my color and go pick up). Flash forward to 2022...old blue is still running and have over 549,200 miles on it. Still getting GREAT gas mileage. Houston to Lubbock 1/2 tank gas. This engine is awesome. Wrote to Chevrolet and sent pictures they sent voucher towards next Chevrolet truck...

When you buy the Avalanche new it comes with a zipper bag to store the 3 cover panels in. The bag is then secured to the bed wall on edge to keep them out of the way and safe from being damaged. (Each panel equals $1000.00)
This panel securing system was on my 2004 AVY when I bought it new. It probably gets lost and that's why most used Avys don't have them.

I’ve owned a 2002 for 6 years now. I’ve had plenty of good reasons to part ways, but instead I’ve invested in it and love it. Approaching 300K on original motor and transmission. It’s a Z71 and the transfer case is still doing it’s job as if it’s new.
I’m losing a quart of oil a week right now, the rear main seal needs to be changed out, but I’m about to get that done and keep trucking. Love mine.

Their also notorious for an issue with the oil sending unit dropping oil on the back of engine on the bottom, making it Look like it's the rear main seal, but it's not, tons of people are finding this out the hard way after replacing the rear main seal 🦭 for no reason, whenever the issue was the sending unit...I'd double check before I get to dedicated to it being THAT 🤷🏼‍♂️....

My fiance didnt know my truck did this. Once he saw the video he started liking my truck again. He's vision impaired and I'm handicapped so I'm the driver usually. He's had issues loading things in the back seat and rear of the truck. We have a mobility scooter lift that swings out of the way of the tailgate like a door. It's been a pain going to Walmart constantly removing the rear panels. Once I showed him your video he was much happier about my trips to Walmart and home Depot :)

I had a 2002 for two years first truck mind you, it was a very reliable truck and I loved it. Unfortunately the previous owners I bought it from never took care of it. There was an ungodly amount of rust on the frame, under the doors, basically everywhere and a leak under the driver side where water would leak in. I traded it in for a 2013 black diamond LS. NOT TRUE YOU HARDLY EVER TAKE THE WINDOW OUT AND WHEN YOU DO WHY ITS SO MUCH TIRING AND HOT TO DO THAT. AND THOSE THINGS ARE HEAVY ALSO YOUR NOT GOING TO BE DOING THAT ITS EXHAUSTING AND IT TAKES A WHILE TO DO IT. IT WILL TAKE YOU 30 MINS TO DO IT AND YOU'LL BE HUFFING AND PUFFING. ALSO THE CHANCES OF YOU USING IT WILL NEVER BE BECAUSE THE BED IS WAY TO SHORT TO PUT LUMBER AND YOU JUST WILL NEVER USE THAT THERE IS SO MANY OTHER BETTER LIKE THE SILVERADO OR THE TUNDRA OR RAM 1500 OR F150 OR NISSAN TITAN THIS VEHICLE IS MORE OF A JUST LOOKS

I think they are great trucks for someone who wants a crew cab and a lot of space in the back. 8 ft 2 in truck bed in the avalanche is way bigger than any truck with a crew cab...
