As a diehard RAM fan I have to give props to Ford. They could've done more for this redesign but I like it anyways. Exterior wise I think the F-150 looks better than the RAM but it's the interior where RAM dominates!

I really like how Ford knows to not go straight to full electric and go hybrid. Going straight electric would lead to bankruptcy since most truck buyers won’t trust the new tech
And the power grid is not there to support it either... not any state has the power stations to support all Electric.... and there won't be for another 20 to 30 years, unless the government demands it and says no more fuel only vehicles, like going to UNleaded gas ... other countries will have gas only vehicles, but I really don't think their will be a time, at least in our life time, electric only vehicles "ONLY" on the road... And I think it's a bad investment unless the power grid and "POWER STATIONS" are supporting them. It's not just a switch and go, this would affect millions of jobs with the loss of the oil industry. If they have the battery in the Hybrid working for 100k miles and not costing 5k or more to replace it, it won't be that popular either. : > )
And, 3 months later the full EV version drops…

I think my air ball is the interior. It's so plain jane compared to the ram. The features on this truck are second to none. And with a little extra quality trim inside...they'd have been the hands down winner. The ram just feels more satisfying.

Best pickup truck for sale in my opinion
The ram might have better ride quality and to some look better , I’ve been in both I now own the powerboost and if your needing a truck thats an all around work truck with unbelievable power I would definitely recommend the powerboost. I’ve ran my rv for days off of the generator, I tow my side by side almost every weekend leading up to hunting season and throughout . I don’t know many 4x4s that get around 20 mpg depending on how i drive sitting on 33s

I have a new 2021 lariat and came from a 2019 Laramie ram 1500. The Ram still wins the interior working off the 2019. The Ford does lead in price though.

I have the 2021 ford f150 platinum but my tailgate goes down by itself because it doesn’t goes up by itself when I push the button it doesn’t go up only goes down
I was personally going to pick the ram but for me it was too small. So I picked the f150. More room in my opinion
I doubt the fuel economy is a concern when you can drop that much on a truck lol.
I like the Ram’s interior & exterior better. I’m in the market for these vehicles so I’m not talking about reliability.
I gotta be honest, at first i didnt like the front ends of these newer f150s. They all are similar to the 18-20 stx, just a bit fancier. But ive come to appreciate them and now i love em. They are simple, some of em are elegant. They look nice. Plus they look a tad more compact than the 18-20s. 18-20 stx and xlt are still my vote for best looking front end, but these newer f150s are 2nd place. All trims look great this time. 18-20 had a few trims that were ugly as hell, such as the lariat.
I have been looking at the New King Ranch and this has the same features, just different interior colors. I personally like the King Ranch better but I have been driving one of those for many years.

QUESTION : If you LOWERED the SHIFT LEVER to use the work surface ; then , needed to drive away , and after you closed the work surface ,
the SHIFT LEVER REFUSED to raise up , are you stuck - unable to drive away ?
You have to press the button to lower or raise!

Do you have any idea on the cost of hybrid battery replacement after some years of use??
I was checking into this since I own a pb from what I seen there around 3000 for battery alone, nothing like the full ev . I’m hoping they’re able to make a longer ah battery by the time this one wears out if I keep it that long .

I really appreciate the innovative hybrid system Ford rolled out with the new generation. It will have more uses than many people believe. Ford also continues to win the powertrain wars, offering something for everyone. But I still find the Ram offers the best interior, likely better refinement, and driving experience.
As someone below you said, if you need a luxury cruiser with lots of capability, the RAM is for you. If you have a luxury cruiser already, the F-150 is the way to go. That's not to say that the F-150 isn't luxurious because it is. Compared to RAM it still falls short but I think it has more than enough for the average person.

Infuriating that one like this can't be found on a dealer lot ANYWHERE in my area. Furthermore... custom factory orders are taking upward of 6 to 7 months.... that's MONTHS to deliver. Absurd! Ford factory respobse times are severely lacking.
There are supply chain shortages in almost every industry including the massive microchip shortages, this has been going on for over 2 years now, it isn't new.

Those wheels look ok on a base model, but not high trim like the Platinum.

Owning both high end trucks I'd say Ram has way better materials and ride quality and overall a way better truck to own ..my opinion since I've owned Limited models with both?

No, nothing in cargo or passenger space is changed
wow, 5 years, and this truck still look more or less the same with the same interior with some slight modern touches. This isn't even fully loaded and is already more expensive than a fully loaded ram which is a lot better in almost every way
I remember when trucks used to be affordable
They didn't use to have platinum trucks with all the extra features and better materials. They still make lower trims that don't cost as much.
Waiting for the Tremor to come out to compare to the Platinum.

@Mike Byrne I've seen a few Powerboost reviews and it seems impressive. I'd like to see it in use for a couple of years before buying. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford makes it available on Tremor in a year or two.

75k for a Pickup Truck? That’s outrageous. Ram still has better quality interior and according to reviews, also better ride.
I have this truck in the 2022 year model and the sound system sucks! You can barely hear the music coming from the headrest or the speakers above your head in the headliner. Ford has the worst sound system in my opinion than any other high end truck on the market.
That grill doe not belong on truck.
Love the f series trucks, however this model is just way too extra. And you can keep that electric shit. I support burning fossil fuels to make my truck go, particularly diesel.
The electric shit is about functionality. Ever tailgate at a 4pm football game and want to watch the 1pm.gsmrs in the parking lot? I bring my 65" flat screen tailgating. Want to plug in an Electric heater too? You got it. Power out at your house? Have your electrician add a transfer switch and run your whole house off of it. I live in Florida, hurricanes and thunderstorms take out power. Those are great added bonus features. It would cost me 8-10k to add a dedicated whole home ac to my house
I really like this truck but……. I always wonder what cultural issues FORD has in its design and decision making leadership positions that……. Well, just pushes 95% of the way and then says that’s good enough. What do I mean 95%? Well anyone who has been in a very hard and competitive class knows (except for the always present teachers pet, and always present resident Einstein…. knows that going from a 95 on a test to a 100% is substantially harder.
Where Ford falls short is in the last 5%. The center console is one example. Looks good, even the workspace desk is a nice touch. But the internal design is pathetic. It’s almost insulting when compared to the RAM Longhorn or Limited. Rams center console is perfect. It has multiple compartments, it lighting, it has all the plugs needed… etc. GM is not as nice but it’s way nicer than Ford’s. What else? Well as nice as the leather and vinyl are in the Platinum, there js a lot more vinyl than their should be in an $86,000 dollar truck. Carpet, falls short of GM and Ram. One of my biggest pet peeves is ford’s seat cushion materials. There are many different qualities of foam. Ram uses a foam that holds up to heavy use climbing in and sliding my 200 lbs butt out. Ram used a foam that holds up for years. Our construction company has a dozen subs who have Rams. All of their drivers seat cushions are still in perfect condition… Ford’s drivers seats begin to stop filling back out after compression at about 10-15,000 miles. In our parking lot, you can find a mix of trucks. Ford and Chevy seats just don’t hold up as well.
I could gripe about some of the plastics, gripe about some of Ford’s attention to detail.. gripe about how ridiculously ford’s undercarriage (suspension parts, driveshaft etc) begin to rust as soon as they leave the factory…
Well beyond those complaints, I still love the F-150
Step 1: Save you’re $75,000. Invest in crypto and cash out at the end of the bull run.
Step 2: Buy whatever truck you want with your million dollars.
Some love the Ford and I just don't , never did. I always felt it is a poor quality engineering from head to toe. Not the Ram is 10 times better, but you don't hear all the crap issues it has like the Ford. Now, a big recall is coming on the new F-150 that is to do with structural issues. Come on, this is 2021, not 1936.
