Bought a new XT6 at he beginning of 2021 and we are absolutely in love with it. Our last car was a Suburban and we don't miss the extra room. (Actually, we still have the Suburban in case we need it.) Took the XT6 on an LA to Vegas trip and a cross country trip and it was awesome. Got 24.9 mpg's on both trips and used 87 grade with no trouble. My wife was never comfortable driving the Suburban, but this car doesn't give her any problems. Some of the extra features not mentioned in this review are the flat floor in the 2nd row, perfectly tinted sunroof glass that makes you forget the sunroof is open, built in dashcam and 360 camera, and what my wife calls the "Yes Lady." Our last Cadillac was years ago and didn't have CUE. So now, when I touch the voice access button, the Lady says, "Yes?" And she will help you with almost anything! Pairing phones is easy and the car knows which phone is in the car. We almost got the new Escalade, but when we checked out the XT6 that was sitting next to the Escalade in the showroom, we both fell in love with it - and saved a ton of cash, too.
I just got a great deal on a 2020 demo model XT6 Sport (AWD, $60.2k is sticker, paid $44.4k). Has everything the one in this video has, except cooled seats. Wouldn’t have paid full sticker for it, but for the same price as a reasonably-equipped Highlander, CX-9, or Acadia (and far less than a V6 Explorer)? Hell yes. Looks great in my driveway, and rides great. 😎
I Don’t believe that for a second sorry. There’s no way the dealer went from 60k to low 40’s unless it was high mileage and had cosmetic damage and such

As a European I can say this without a shadow of a doubt.. I love the design of this new generation of US manufacturers SUVs. Maybe it's because I see BMW X5s, Audi Q8s and Mercedes GLS all day every day, but I really dig these new Escalade, Navigator, XT6, Bronco, etc.... Of course there was also an era when American cars looked order of magnitude better than anything made this side of the pond. And that is of course 1960-1980. All cars from that era looked awesome. I loved those boats, those huge Buicks, Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles and Fords. Than the oil crisis happened in the late 70s and the US car design together with the power reduction went south. Nowdays you're making great looking cars again. One of them is my dream car which I will own one day and that is the Ford F-150 Raptor...
The XT6 is nice long as you don't compare it. I mean this thing gets killed by the GV80, new MDX, Aviator and then don't even mention the Germans. The XT6 is absolutely outclassed in every single way, except price. Where is the Escalade like effort?
Agree - Cadillac could have done something special, but for some reason decided to do the absolute bare minimum they possibly could. Its like the old 1990s brand engineering days all over again. This just feels dated.
And The aviator is just a Ford explorer with better trim. And speaking of aviator I drove one when I had my xt5, thinking it was going to outclass my car I was unpleasantly surprised as the harsh and truck like ride of the aviator and pleasantly surprised of the smoothness when I got back to my Platinum xt5..not to mention all the problems they have with The aviator now that they have been out for a while, That did it for me as far as The aviator was concerned, the MDX is too Honda esk for me ..Cadillac just seems to do it right every time, little things that you don't realize like how the doors lock themselves when you walk away from the car or the heated and vented seats are connected directly to the climate control and you don't have to switch them yourself they start off high and lower down as the car cools or heats up not to mention the xt6 rides like silk.. and yes before you ask I bought one.. and yes let's mention the German cars which are all junk and do nothing but break down.. you'll be driving loaners as you're making the payments
I just picked up my 2022 XT6 Premium Luxury last week and I couldn't be happier with it! Terrific looking and functional, great space and comfort, reasonably priced for it's segment, great tech and safety features, plenty of power and a smooth ride! It's my first domestic US car brand purchase in 20 years.

Hate might be to strong, but I don't like it compared to others. At least they started putting volume knobs back in.
@@KaosII1968 personally I think I just needs to be updated to something more like the new escalade. The physical gauges for the speedometer and tach should be completely electronic for a luxury suv. I'm a GM man through and through but look at the aviators interior.

It actually feels better inside aside from looks and the Aviators cameras are not as clear and the infotainment in it was very laggy compared to the XT6. The screen may be smaller but it's a better quality one in the XT6. Some of these products just look good you need to sit in them for yourself. Even the digital gauge cluster in the Lincoln was laggy the XT6 has no lag at all and that alone would make me happier it felt more future proof. When this and the Aviator get refreshed I'm sure they'll be even as far as size and quality on the screens but for now XT6 has better tech. ✔️
I hope in 2022, they do make it more like the Escalade especially the interior and make a stronger engine. Like everyone who has said more about the Genesis GV80 or Acura MDX or even Audi Q7, the luxury is missing much. This should be priced like the Chevy Transverse or Kia Telluride
GM's revolution started shortly after this was released so compared to the triplet SUVs, Corvette, CT4, and CT5, this falls short. With the new things GM has shown, I hope some love will be given to the XT vehicles because they desperately need it. In this class of vehicle, my pick is the Genesis GV80 with the Lincoln Aviator as a second.
This vehicle had so much potential and still does. Starts with the interior. Full digital gauge cluster should be standard on anything above the base trim, and the center stack infotainment screen should be at least 10 inches. As someone mentioned this gets outclassed by everything in this segment.
I just took delivery of a 2021 XT6 Sport. White w the Onyx package. MSRP of 69k. So far, I love it. My 1 and only beef is I think for the size of the vehicle, it needs more beef under the hood. Adding a turbo to the current V6 would do the trick. Push it up around 360-370 hp would be quite nice.
Got my XT6 one month ago and love it! Everything is just perfect except the driving assistant system which feels like your 2-year-old boy. XT6: "Watch out dad!" Me: "what? what?", XT6: "BAZINGA!!!"
I actually prefer the XT6’s dashboard/instrument panel to the Escalade’s. I am not a fan of tablets in cars, since I want to be driving a car and not a computer.
Half-priced Escalade??? Good clickbait. Now, I like the SUV, but it tries to hit a home run and can only get as far as second base. It needs a more powerful engine (237hp engine from the XT4 - come on, Caddy!!). Even the 3.6 ltr lacks significant torque for the weight of this SUV. , Interior needs to look more luxurious. Compared to its Lincoln rival, it's a GM embarrassment. Lincoln has much better visual appeal and tactile feel.
I just don't understand how the same brand that cranks out the Escalade puts this, the XT4, and XT5 out. The Escalade is definitely deserving of its mack-daddy place atop the full-size trucks. But this comes across as a gussied-up GMC Acadia. Making matters worse, the GV80, MDX, Volvo XC90(6 years old now), and Q7 are superior overall, for the exact same money. Notice I didn't even mention the rival from Dearborn, Aviator. World's ahead. But maybe this is a placeholder because the Cadillac Lyriq looks to be an amazing EV.
The mid section from A to B pillar looks like a combination of Honda Pilot and Audi clues. That’s a great thing and looks great from the front to the back as well.
The carved out key fob in the bottom of the center armrest is there in case the battery dies in the fob & the car can't detect it while trying to start the vehicle. You place the fob in that space & the car will recognize the fob. Found out by accident when my XT5 wouldn't start, I called the dealer to find out what to do. They told me about this & it worked. Failed to mention this fact to me when I purchased the car. Love Cadillac, I hated the dealership, not at all what I expected for buying a Cadillac.
A couple of years back this would have been a stand out offering, but the bar is higher than ever in this segment and this falls short of the competition.
You guys really portray the xt6 in its best light. Even though it's only a 6 cylinder, you give pause to considering a cylinder deactivated V8 Escalade.

Escalade’s underpinning is a dinosaur. This XT6 gives Cadillac a spot next to the likes of the Volvo XC90, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Acura MDX, Audi Q7, and BMW X7.
the car starts at 48k right now, if they were to add a screen like that in a car it would definitely make it 56-57k base price, if GM wanted they could've put in the screen but I guess they are trying to make it affordable. I understand where you are coming from and I'd love to see that integrated too but it would definitely raise the price.

Cadillac WHY? Don't you offer a higher HP Torque drivetrain with Sedona Sauvage or Kona Brown Sauvage interior, plus quilted seats for the XT6 that aren't offered in the XT5 ?

It’s clear that this was just the set up vehicle for where they’re planning for this to go, they couldn’t put everything they wanted it on it yet because the Escalade hadn’t come out yet, now that it has, all this is going to end up being is a smaller version of the Escalade. This car is going to get the same Escalade interior just smaller. Other companies did the exact same thing, Mercedes did it and now all of their smaller versions have the big screens, Lincoln did it when they dropped the navigator first then the aviator got the same identical treatment the same thing will happen for the XT6 as well just gotta be patient.
I rather buy a HONDA PILOT ELITE a more reliable SUV. Japanese people know how to build cars better than anybody and can surpass the 300 k miles with no problem at all 55k well equipped can’t complain HONDA the way to go.
Completely agree. Cadillac is ridiculously over priced. I mean Mercedes and BMW are over priced but at least you feel like you’re in a luxury car with them. Cadillac is so expensive and I’ve been in nicer Mazda’s. At least the exterior looks good.
Purchase one that is a year old and save thousands. Not getting really any major advantages, especially in the engine. Same as the rest of the standard GM line-up. GMC Acadia Denali is practically the same.

The 4 cylinder is dumb. 3.6 should be the base engine, and a turbo 6 should be optional.

I think if the keyfob battery is dead, you can place the key there to still start the vehicle
It’s clear that this was just the set up vehicle for where they’re planning for this to go, they couldn’t put everything they wanted it on it yet because the Escalade hadn’t come out yet, now that it has, all this is going to end up being is a smaller version of the Escalade. This car is going to get the same Escalade interior just smaller. Other companies did the exact same thing, Mercedes did it and now all of their smaller versions have the big screens, Lincoln did it when they dropped the navigator first then the aviator got the same identical treatment the same thing will happen for the XT6 as well just gotta be patient.

I rather buy a HONDA PILOT ELITE a more reliable SUV. Japanese people know how to build cars better than anybody and can surpass the 300 k miles with no problem at all 55k well equipped can’t complain HONDA the way to go.

Completely agree. Cadillac is ridiculously over priced. I mean Mercedes and BMW are over priced but at least you feel like you’re in a luxury car with them. Cadillac is so expensive and I’ve been in nicer Mazda’s. At least the exterior looks good.

Purchase one that is a year old and save thousands. Not getting really any major advantages, especially in the engine. Same as the rest of the standard GM line-up. GMC Acadia Denali is practically the same.

Is this based on Escalade ? Like did they try to make a smaller Escalade ? Called it something else because Lincoln made navigator and aviator I always wondered why Cadillac never made Escalade smaller size but aviator is huge compare to this I used to think aviator is small when I saw it in person it’s a lot bigger then a lot of other 7 seat suvs look then I saw navigator in person the new one and it’s huge I personally don’t like either Escalade or navigator for size looks like driving a long Lem I prefer aviator any day and any time and not cause of money even if I was millionaire because I get stupid comment people say I’m poor that’s why I don’t buy the navigator and I find that childish like if it’s only made for rich people I’m pretty sure if someone can pay 80 for aviator can add another 20 or 30k to but a navigator common sense
