Ryan lived up to the name “creator” and likely why he got burnt out. I remember just waiting every week for a new video and he just kept coming up with original skits. I didn’t know how he was doing it. A lot of YT now is just reactive. He may not have the most subscribers now but he will always be regarded on another level of respect.
I wholeheartedly agree, people see comedy as perhaps a somewhat natural thing, but the way Ryan was doing things u can easily tell from the videos they can be difficult to make, they were creative and so interesting to watch, and I understand why it became tiring to keep trying to pump out content like that to an audience consistently

Depression is unfortunately a silent killer. I would hate to see him go down the path of depression that some of the greatest actors and celebs (robin Williams, etc) have gone down. Brandon's comparison between marriage and content is so unapologetically beautiful. Like not only is it a great message for creators but it's such a great mindset to have for a relationship. It's unrealistic to say you'll love someone forever, just like it's unrealistic to say you'll enjoy a job forever. But the time you take to remind yourself of why, and how, you're in the position you're in is so precious and can completely rejuvenate that energy you once had. Honestly, loved this interview, one of my favs

Definitely needed more time with Ryan. He got so real and didn't shy away from talking about his struggles and mistakes he made when he was younger. I've only seen cheerful Ryan so it's a bit sad to see him so burnt out--I really hope he's better now and wish him all the best. His work has always been so fun, creative, and wholesome. You can tell that he pours love into each of his vides.

But with the whole group, it was just like 4 idiots + 1 straight arrow all the time and the 4 are redundant. I think that's why his content became lackluster, at least to me.

Ryan Higa is literally the reason why I speak English today. I remember being 12 and watching his videos, having no idea what he was saying, and watching them over and over until I could finally understand a third of the jokes! In France there was no such thing as "youtubers" at the time, and he was the first person I started following on youtube. And now I am going to graduate and my master was fully taught in English, and I was able to travel and communicate with people from all around the world! It is crazy to think that I was able to achieve that just because 12 years ago I came across a Twilight parody made by a guy from Hawai and that it motivated me to learn English

Moses MGJ there's this app called gacha life, where you basically design a character. There's options to like play games with the character and you can connect with other people from around the world to chat on the app. There's a community on UA-cam that makes animations with the characters they design on gacha life. It was pretty popular last year but it's really dying down now.

it was wholesome to watch all the og ytbers coming together even anthony is one of the most respected ones in the youtube community and these guys were my happiness when i was a kid.........every week i would wait for a smosh or a ryanhiga video it was just the golden days of youtube tbh.........i guess in some way or other some part of those days still lives on in todays youtube......we were lucky to have these guys during our childhood.......and also if you notice all the ogs including ryan,brandon,jack,smosh etc may have less subs than the rest but they had far more views than the other channels their one video can reach 60 mill but now its more subs and less views....i just want youtube to be the video creating platform it was back then.

I remember knowing all of the youtubers with a million or more subs and now i dont even know whats going on
I legit couldn't even name all the youtubers with over 10mill there's so many
I remember before, I thought I knew every UA-camr with 1 million subs and then I find out about his person who had 4 million and I was so surprised, that I felt dumb for not knowing. Slowly, I kept seeing more and more people who had over 2 million subs and I realized that 1 million subs is not the same as it used to be.

nigahiga in my opinion is still relevant in the youtube community with his skits and vlogs even if he mostly does podcasts now
Literally no one watches his podcasts, within days they won’t even come close to hitting 1 mil views. Hell, he could get the president to go on there and it would get like 560k views.
