I was a ten year old boy forced to sleep in the open desert in the dead of winter. No tent, no fire, a cold, rough scrap of tarp for a blanket. We were out there for over a month, and I had the flu-- or SOME virus-- so bad that I couldn't eat, and couldn't stop shaking. I was drug back and fourth two or three times a day so the THING I was with could eat IT'S fill at a local homeless mission. Had to climb over an abandoned freight train each way every time.
Again, I was ten years old and basically dying.

When I was homeless I went to the council to get help and accommodation, I was told I couldn't get help without a permanent address.... I'm lucky that bad times have gave me greater understanding of lots of different lives. Though many don't believe it, anyone could end up homeless, one bad thing can snowball. I definitely have a huge appreciation of having a roof above my head and food in my belly and I make sure to stay grateful for all I have.

I'm mixed on the part 2 idea but I think I would say yes. I don't know, I think I'm just not to into the bugs so if there's more maybe it would make it better. It's a great story up till the revel. I think it needs a different end or fleshed out more.

    • @dome2919
      @dome2919 Рік тому +5

@@YourFriendCaspian it was weird, a lot more *grounded* than I expected the ending to be. If the part two was something like (spoilers)
"we found a way to gain limited control of where we're jumping to, and we're gathering someplace because we don't want to live in fear or leave the next batch of marked people to slavery." and proceeded to
"The bugs served this entity, force, etc." I would get much better closure. But I wonder whether that adds too much "sciency understanding" to this magical horror

I like the action horror, your "prison guard" series is probably your most popular, but the oil rig story is also spectacular, I guess I love the not super depressing, action and adventure type stories

    Some questions.
    Maybe I missed something.
Why didn't the kid call home when his phone got charged?
When the protagonist ended up in the beetle pit, he didn't ask anyone where he was? He asked the other times.
I'm not being mean or hostile, just asking questions.
Other than that, kudos to the narrator and author 🎉.

    Hi everyone,
I am looking for a specific story that was really special to me from dark Somnium but can’t think of the name. The story was about a man who would drink too much and wake up on a beach with a giant coming towards him every time until a man that always said “hey there slick” would wake him up. Can anyone please comment if you know the name to the story? ❤

HOLY SMOKES that one was nuts?? That twist was so stark, it was like running into a wall. Did not expect subterranean eusocial insect overlords in the cards there.
Didn’t do it goofy either the imagery of the execution scene was visceral and made me feel like I was drowning 10/10.
This one invoked genuine feelings of helplessness and shock, well done to the author. Well done to you.

That was very well written for a creepypasta. It explains the purpose of the transportation, without needlessly going on about it. The beetles are an interesting twist, again, the author explained just enough to maintain the tension. Definitely a story I would like to hear more of. It would be interesting to tie it into the Nation Park missing persons conspiracy, with the government trying to study or exterminate the beetles.
