I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video, I will tell you what happened on the 852 day of the war.
Day 852: Jun 24
Today, there is a lot of news from the Kharkiv direction.
Here, desertion has become a major problem for Russian forces, prompting the deployment of penal units to kill everyone who engages in unauthorized retreats. However, Ukrainians have strategically targeted these penal unit headquarters, ensuring that the desertions continue, and further weakening the Russian frontlines.
Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky recently emphasized that the primary objective of Ukrainian forces in the region is to inflict maximum losses on Russian troops. By achieving this, Ukrainian forces aim not only to halt Russian advances but also to gradually reclaim lost territory, ultimately pushing the enemy back across the border. This strategy is designed to weaken Russian capabilities and morale, setting the stage for a sustained Ukrainian counteroffensive and the restoration of control over the territory.
As a direct consequence of the relentless Ukrainian efforts, Russian units deployed along the contact line have suffered significant degradation. The first unit to lose its combat effectiveness was the Russian 7th Motorized Rifle Regiment operating near Lyptsi. Ukrainian military analyst Kostyantyn Mashovets reported that after continuous and costly frontal assaults on fortified Ukrainian positions on the hills north of the settlement, the regiment incurred unsustainable losses. These heavy casualties forced the withdrawal of the 7th Motorized Rifle Regiment from the combat zone for reconstitution
With these units withdrawn, the remaining Russian forces in the region began to suffer from a lack of support, and under intense Ukrainian counterattacks, they started to buckle under the pressure. Previous reports have highlighted increasing numbers of Russian soldiers surrendering under these conditions. However, this was merely the tip of the iceberg, as many more Russian soldiers are too fearful to surrender and instead choose to desert. Significant cases of desertion have been detected in the Lyptsi direction, as confirmed by Ukrainian Kharkiv Group of Forces Spokesperson Yuriy Povkh. The situation has become so critical, with the frontline in the Kharkiv region collapsing, that the Russian command has been forced to take drastic measures, including the introduction of barrier troops to prevent further desertions and maintain order.
Recently, it was confirmed that the Russian Ministry of Defense has transferred elements of the Chechen Akhmat Spetsnaz to the Kharkiv region. Chechen Commander Apty Alaudinov claimed that some of his units are already engaged in active frontline battles. However, Ukrainian Khortytsia Group of Forces Spokesperson Nazar Voloshyn revealed that, in reality, Akhmat forces are serving as blocking units. These specialized disciplinary units are tasked with preventing unauthorized retreats by firing on their own troops if they attempt to withdraw to the international border area. Military analysts have noted that, based on the Akhmat forces' previous actions in other parts of the frontline, their deployment to Kharkiv is likely intended solely for this purpose, rather than for conducting genuine offensive operations.
Interestingly, Ukrainians have strategically exploited this situation by targeting the deployment sites of Chechen forces, thereby ensuring that the chaos and retreat of Russian soldiers continue unimpeded by these punishment squads. Geolocated footage reveals the aftermath of multiple successful airstrikes on Chechen force concentrations, further exacerbating the disarray within Russian ranks. The original uncensored video of this strike can be found on our Telegram channel by following the link in the description.
This escalation has intensified the challenges for Russian commanders, compelling them to urgently seek reinforcements to avoid losing already captured territory and to sustain their offensive efforts. Soon after, reports began to emerge about unspecified Russian units being redeployed from various fronts, including the left bank of Kherson, Chasiv Yar, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove, as well as from training centers within the Russian Federation. This suggests that the Russians may still be clinging to their goal of establishing a buffer zone in...

@@unduloid the technology changes but the psychology of the soldiers doesn’t. As long as men fight wars, ancient philosophers will still be relevant for their insights.
@@unduloid And yet, Sun Tzu's tactical philosophy remains a major underpinning of the majority of modern tactics.
Yes, a lot of the details are no longer relevant - his chapter on how much money to bring to pay the troops, for example, is rather out dated.
But many of the concepts are still sound today - observations like soldiers are more likely to desert when near their home towns, will fight harder if there is no means of escape, etc. all hold true.
His classifications of types of ground - contentions ground vs death ground, we've come up with better terms and shuffled them around a bit, but still use that as a foundation for broad strategy.
His single biggest point was: focus on logistics and morale, and study your opponents before committing to an attack.
That hasn't changed.

Thanks to Ukraine for caring about the lives of Russian conscripts more than their own country does. Слава Україні.
The Russians are finding conducting offensive actions as difficult as Ukraine found out last summer when they tried their counter offensive in the south. As Ryan MacBeth pointed out, all movement is being watched by drones with a dug in defensive opponent. Stopping the Russians is not the same thing as Ukraine being able to liberate its territory.
With time and support they may not have too. At some point Russia is going to exhaust itself, admittedly Ukraine can also be exhausted, but with ongoing support Ukraine is arguably in a better position than Russia in my opinion.
IF Ukrain can gain some type of air control they could make advances. We'll see if that pan out.
Russians are ineffective to conduct military operations from literally beginning of this war. But they operate in Great Patriotic War delusion, where malpractices of unprepared Red Army were presented as brilliant strategy. In this case Russia seriously believed that Ukrainians lack reserves and try make another surprise attack. With the exact same results as hundreds times before.
Ukraine actually tested various combat doctrines, not doing offensive operation. It was clear from beginning that it would not happen without proper air support. But Ukraine also didn't want Russia to freeze the war. Ukrainians did have relatively low losses during those operations, most damage was caused by MAGA delay. Anyway, Ukraine from beginning did know that it would be war of attrition and play on destroying Russian power, even with cost of the land. It is because Russia always default to this strategy after loosing Blaitzkrieg (what they do because they do not have any strategy outside surprise rushing the enemy and then throw everything ignoring the losses).
"all movement is being watched by drones". Erm no or how do you explain the surprise the orcs got when they realised the Ukraine had re-enforced positions without them knowing...Some area are under drone observation. Not all movement.
And don't forget about American and European spy satellite data that is constantly given to the Ukrainians....
If I was Russian, there would be NO WAY I'd fight in this war. We only get one life and this is not a good enough reason to throw it away for nothing....
yeah and most Ukrainians dont want either but they are forced too.. if i was ukrainian i wouldve join russia. easy
Did you see the video of the Russian soldiers' video message to his son, apologizing that he will never see his son again. He was killed in an assault.

Wait.....so Enemy at the Gates is happening again? Wow
Enemy at the Gates never stopped. Russian military culture has not changed from Stalingrad, only the weapons
@@talamiorosmostly newer weapons 😂
@@talamioros Actually stuff from that movie never did happen. Nazi propaganda exaggerated logistical issues Soviets did have, same as with Polish cavalry (which was armed in anti-material rifles and could easily destroy Panzer I and II. Not to mention use of maneuver warfare doctrine, what negated Blitzkrieg). Russians were ashamed by lack of preparation and mythologized malpractices as brilliant strategy.
One of reasons for Russian desperation is in fact death of that grand myth.
Slava Ukraini! 😍😍😍😍
It would actually be safer for those deserting Russians to go forward empty handed with a white flag than go back to their own troops...

How do penal unit backers survive their own armed comrades?
In their retreat/surrender/mutiny they likely discarded their weapons.
Good question. Penal units and frontline units not knowing each other, being from different oblasts, certainly helps.
One thing is fleeing from comabt/disobaying orders.. another is shooting a fellow trooper, most likely a higher ranking.

Sometimes in your dreams the world is just as you saw it when you were a child, that is amazing, mind-blowing (like when a smell suddenly transports you to the past but without the melancholy that that feeling leaves) and sometimes is revealing as well, i remember a dream i had that was even better, there was a very long beach in a place i've never been but i knew. it was a sunny day at the beach, The sea was a little rough but the blue was irresistible, the blue of the sea and the sky was very intense and I don't know why that impressed me so much. How can I describe this? I don't know why but i was convinced that I was in the best place ever and it was amazing, it was actually better than being in heaven. The more you walked along the beach the more exciting it was, there were beautiful girls like northern European women. It was a hyper-idealized world, irresistible in a way that goes beyond comprehension. I can't describe it, at the end there was a house at the beach and I woke up the moment i entered that house.
I remember when Enemy at the Gates came out and the Russians complained about how their army was being portrayed in that movie. Well, looks like they complained because it hit too close to home, eh?
Technically current Russian strategy is based on the same myths as the movie. It was actually criticized by western historians as many of those claims were exaggerated by German propaganda.
So Human Wave Tactic was actually result of lack of effective communication early in the war and as such Red Army units struggle to coordinate. NKVD relatively rarely shot to own people, mostly working as military police. In Stalingrad assault forces absolutely did have weapons. But units were ordered to collect equipment of fallen due to short supply of ammo. It was support units who didn't get the guns. So you know, those caring supply and stuff.
Anyway Soviets were humiliated by initial ineffectiveness of they army and as such mythologized some malpractices as some brilliant strategy. Modern Russia degraded intellectually so far, that they repeat fairly tales of they grandfathers and copy nonsense from Hollywood movies.

Make no mistake in this life, you should only seek beauty and happiness, make no mistake. I remember one time when i was a boy I went to see a high school next to the beach in another province, the lobby was a giant rotunda like in a hotel, the girls I saw were all beautiful blondes with long hair, that was like paradise. The atmosphere was spectacular, next to the sea, perfect girls, just beautiful people, it was like a movie set. Make no mistake and always look for happiness and you will have nothing to regret in your lives. You have to live to be happy not to be martyrs. Why are you fighting for? Good luck!
However many categories Russia is poor in, there is one at which they are very competent. They have built and maintain a Ho Chi Minh Trail all the way to the front in Ukraine. This springs out of their development and maintenance of their Gulag Archipelago. Ukraine needs to consult with the Vietnamese on this issue, and perhaps the Americans. Unresolved, the case of the Vietnam War shows us the likely outcome of this conflict. The flow of Soviet military aid all the way into South Vietnam enabled the North Vietnamese victory. This competency is a key source of Russian confidence and persistence.
