For those wondering, because its a worry for me on anything, I am 34, 6ft 5", and I own one of these. Over 1100 miles in and I still love the thing. It isnt a huge bike and I dont really fit perfect, but it gets my knees in the breeze. Here for any questions.
I’m 21 and I want this to be my first day-to-day motorcycle, I’ve grown up with an older CR250R but I couldn’t take it out nearly as much I’ve wanted for a lot of reasons, mainly due to it not being street legal, and a 2-stroke engine doesn’t help me any either if I wanted to go around the neighborhood. I think this would be a perfect bike, but the only issue I’ve heard is it having a hard turn-signal switch, which would be a bummer since I’m going to be using it a lot, any issues in that regard or anything else that you’ve noticed in your experience? Thanks.
@@Saint_Arod 0 issues with my turn signal switch. It is a tad "cheap" so I dont push it in to set it back to neutral, I just move it back to the middle section. This has been a trouble free bike. Only tightened the chain once.
I’ve got mine to 59, and it did not like it. It’s much happier in the 45-50 range. I’ve rode it on a few roads with 55mph speed limits, and it’s just not fun there.
@@John5XR yeah, Martinsville area is really great, but go up north a little ways towards Indianapolis and the roads absolutely flat and straight. Riding downtown Indy is a good time though.
Makes sense, I think there’s sweet spots in every state. Here in Florida there’s a few nice windy roads, but no elevation. I’d really love to take my bikes to the Keys, especially Key West. It’s scooter heaven there!
Close! I’m 6’1” 200lbs. The seat is a little pushed forwards for our height, so you’ll find yourself always sitting on the rear of the seat, or the grab bar on the rack, which can get a little uncomfortable
So talked to my local Honda dealer where I bought my Monkey and he said, "truthfully, I don't expect Honda to catch up with the demand for the CT 125 for 2-3 years." But he added, "I'll be happy to put you on the waiting list." I'm number 25... thankful to have the Monkey.
I’m 6’1” and 200lbs. The bike is sized good dimensionally, but the seat is “can forward” a bit too much for my height, so I always feel as if I want to be sitting further back than the seat allows
So far, it seems as if non-ethanol lost speed, but I need to test it here in Florida at the same spot as when I made the run with the E10 in the tank. Another video though
I'm 5'8 so I think I'd be in the comfort zone. There's an Aussie guy called Warro who puts out some videos on these CT125s you should see. He heavily modified an army green one of these and hit the trails around Central New south Wales,Australia. Covid-19 and lock downs have put an end to that at the moment.
I’m aware of Warrio, he was one of the earlier CT guys on UA-cam. Every Saturday for about a month I have videos scheduled to air on my channel with some pretty rugged riding scenarios I take the Trail though, be sure to subscribe and I think you’ll find them interesting if you wanna see this bike go through some pretty rough stuff!
Enjoyed that man! I took mine out on a good portion of the NC/Tenn TAT and had an absolute blast! Got some videos of it up if you wanna check it I out. Appreciate the videos man!
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback! I have some real good content coming every Saturday for a few weeks from this trip, and it gets pretty rugged! I actually reference the TAT riders on the trails in two videos in regards to the seats, you’re hardcore if you rode that long on that stock seat! I’ll check out the channel too
@@John5XR heck yeah! I would say that eventually your rear becomes calloused lol! No joke, the further I ride the better it gets. We hope to head west on them next year. For now just riding local. We've done about 75-80% of the SM500. You should do that route man. Every 150mi or so is a motorcycle only campground. It's a 500 mile trek through the Smokey mountains, NC, N GA, Tenn. Some of the best riding I've ever done! It shares a bit of the TaT in that area as well.
That sounds amazing and I’d love to do that someday. I’ll put it on my “when the kids allow me to leave for a week or so” trips list (I have a few of those, including Himalayan and Vietnam adventure rides). I wish Florida had some decent trails that weren’t all sugar sand to take the trail on
@@John5XR yes sir, speaking of Himalayan, I'm thinking really strong about buying one soon! I'm scared to death we are all going to have to settle for bikes powered by Dewalt and Milwaukee soon....
Great bike for the run you just did , i live on Bribie Island , North of Brisbane , Queensland , Australia , and the CT125 is great for running around the Island . Top speed limit on the Island is 80 klms hr , and its flat , so the CT has no problems with speed limits . Watch RIDE WITH WARRO , who changes front sprocket to a 13 on his , for better performance , Take care .
it worked perfectly for this type of ride, and in the woods it does great too (check out the videos after this one). smaller sprocket will improve the acceleration for sure, and is something I'll try in the future
Nice looking scenery and perfect weather for a little cruise.
Exactly the kind of riding I enjoy...mostly on my XR650L and Africa Twin

How 'taller and maybe a little bit bigger' are you? Thinking about getting a few, my 3 sons and I are all 6' plus.

I hope that the rumor honda is doing a 150 trail is true I love the bike but it's just slightly to slow for a few roads by me.
That would be sensible for Honda, and they have the engine already. It’s 1000% too slow for all but neighborhood and sub-50mph backroads.
Good video
I was thinking about cutting off that metal bar on butt
Thanks! Yeah it’s a pain in the ass alright 😂
Awesome. Been looking forward to you taking your new bike on your vacation to see how it does up there.
You’re gonna love the footage from NY! Very muddy!
@@John5XR Cool. Looking forward to it.
I dig your videos but the camera angle looking and road gets me. Can you get more horizon
Normally I do, but sometimes the gopro gets jolted and tips down
@@John5XR keep up the good work. Thanks.
Oh man, I’m in central Indiana. You racing at Lucas oil?
You got some great riding roads up there! No, just stopping in for a wedding and to see friends. My wife grew up in Martinsville

They’re popping up more frequently now, and with this demand, I think they’d raise the production levels a bit for the next run
Somewhere out there, there’s a dimension where this comes with a 125 2-stroke. It makes me sad I don’t live in it 🙁
never gonna happen so long as it's a Honda. they never were big two stroke fans to begin with...
@@John5XR go ahead, crush my dreams some more why don’t you! 😭
Sorry man, only Yamaha and KTM/Husky support our two stroke dreams now

Chop off that bar at end of seat
I don’t want to have that unfinished look, so I’d have to repowdercoat the whole rack if I did

Nice video of your handlebars and the 20 feet of road in front of the bike.

Anyone have an idea on how they ride with a 280# person on it?
it would work, but it seems the Honda 125's are limited on their speed potential the heavier the rider is. I can't top 60mph and I'm 200lbs
For riding on the road, should be a min. of 250cc, especially the way they cork the engine for emissions.
Depends on the speed limits of the roads you’re on
