I wanted to try something different and sample Ukrainian culture. The internet tells me that Okean Elzy is Ukraine's most popular pop/rock band, so today I'm listening to their song "Not Your War", from 6 years ago. @@bz0rbich As a former Donetsk citizen I can say that it's definitely Russia invaded Donbas on 2014. There were no separatists before Russian GRU officer Girlin came there and started the war action. Russians brought tanks and Grads with personnel to fight UA armed forces. There were no tanks or qualified soldiers to do this in Donetsk or Luhansk initially.

It's the same dastardly hybrid war that started in 2014 with the occupation of Crimea and Dombas and has been going on for 8 years. The war in Ukraine started 8 years ago. It wasn't on such a massive scale, but none the less... Almost 15 000 people died in this war before the February 24, 2022. It seems I can no longer remeber walking through a town in Ukraine without seeing people who have lost limbs in the war. I certainly cannot remeber the time when vising a graveyard did not mean seeing a recent a grave of someone, who has died in service. This song was a prayer for many of us. It was scary to see family members and friends returning from their round in the war, to see their eyes age in a span of a 3 month shift as if decades have passed. It is completely terrifying now. Thank you for taking the time to listen to it.
