    Had the pleasure of running a test model Impact the other day. Pretty impressed! Ran a test where I had 4 medium nails with a penny in the middle. With all 5 targets under the DD strip at the same time it eeked out the penny every swing! Not too many units would do that.....at all.

      That's fantastic! I haven't done many test. I have done 2 test hunts and I'm very impressed so far. Recovered multiple coins in the same hole as iron. Field test videos coming soon

    Really happy with the company I went with for this upgrade and Very much looking forward to hearing bout how the Impact does as people start getting them out in fields. Great Vid, Thanks!...

    Just needs an option to jam the Fisher F75. Wish it was waterproof and had a gps for targets, but it's still a great price for a VLF machine. Might just have to do some brand jumping and try that out.

    I'm still in the process of doing research for my very first detector and I've been leaning towards the Fisher F75. The Notka, to me sounds just like the F75 and only costa just a little bit more and I like the display. It weighs less than the Fisher F75 which is a plus. Since I live near Galveston I wonder how it would perform at the beach though. Looking forward to seeing you put it to the test.

    • @thehooverboys
      @thehooverboys  7 років тому +1

      Watch as many videos on the machines that interest you. Pay close attention to the sounds they make. If you don't enjoy the tones it's not the detector for you. The Fisher F75 is a proven machine. I believe the Impact will be a hot machine. Time will tell

      its not lighter than the f75 mic so do your homework before telling lies ha ha. ;) F75.....3.5lbs - 1.6kg. impact 4lbs-1.8kg. i have sold my latest f75 because sick of digging good signals to find its a small square bit of iron. i have had a good few over the last 15 year exp2...tesoro wolf trax... xp gmp sml coil took off like an aeroplane. the deus...nose diver poor on gold. old f75.ctx back shoulder ache...etrac front shoulder/arm ache. tec G2 was ok, at gold not to bad. the only other one you could swing all day without many targets to dig and great balance no fatigue was the old f75 ;) garret pissing about not telling us whats due next until the 6th may is it an at 2. would like to know what type of detector its going to be. gold/diving detector/coin-jewlery-relic detector. they should tell us then we can wait or pull the trigger on an impact or wait until whatever else is due out czx probably an iron lover to. looking like an impact at present time but need the cordless headphones with it.

    OK 1st question, so is this like a GPS where if you don't update it and pay for updates it gets out of wack? I like the head phones but wonder if they will take a little rain? Cool it has a night hunting light. LOL Price? Lifetime warranty?
    I would think the little stand would break easy it looked cheep.
    Last is thanks.

    • @thehooverboys
      @thehooverboys  7 років тому

      I hope updates are free. I have no idea. No idea on the headphones if they're water resistant. 2 year warranty. Standard package is $850 I believe. Links under the video in the drop box

    • @Jakez408
      @Jakez408 7 років тому +1

      It is not a GPS so updates may just make the unit work better in the future,but it would not get out of wack unless you updated it and something went wrong.

    I really think that the AKA Berkut, the HT One, Blisstool LTC-64X Version 6 'The Beast' as well as a whole bunch of other brands and models have this one beat in terms of depth but nevertheless, this is one sweet looking machine here and the recovery speed/response time seems pretty good here too but try the rec. speed/resp. time test with the coins right next to each other; '0000000' as well as the one test where the iron nails are pointing too, and touching one coin sort of like this; -0-0-0-0-0-0-0-....These are great tests for how well any machine (really) performs. Minelabs, for example, have great depth but they're not very fast, depending on the model.

    Excellent review mate. Nice slight of hand move getting an assembled detector out of that little box. Your tone test was a great way to show the versatility and speed of this new machine. I appreciate my LED screens but, it's always the tone that I use to judge whether or not I dig a target. I do love the audio of the Nokta Impact. I've made a handful of detecting videos but, as you well stated swinging in the field is my "happy place". No better therapy have I ever found. Peace.

    • @thehooverboys
      @thehooverboys  7 років тому

      Thank you for the kind words. Tone will always trump anything else a detector tell me. That's why the sounds a machine makes are extremely important to me when looking into a new machine. I'm very impressed with this one so far

    • @Jakez408
      @Jakez408 7 років тому +1

      I think it is a big improvement in the physical design over the Gold+. All screen functions at the front and easy to use one only menu.That alone sells it to me but there is much more..Yes tone is very important and a more relaxing way to detect but you have to select the right tone settings on this machine and a bit complicated for the beginner.For the beginner looking at the numbers will give a good indication of the type of metal encountered.Professional detector operators using the latest Minelabs have to dig everything up and takes the fun out of detecting.

    • @thehooverboys
      @thehooverboys  7 років тому

    OK if you had the choice would you pick the Deus, CTX or the Impact? I know you said you gave away your CTX but I'm just asking what everyone is wondering I'm sure

    • @thehooverboys
      @thehooverboys  7 років тому +1

      That's a loaded question. Hahaha! Right off the bat I'd eliminate the CTX. Isn't the machine for me. The other 2 are a hard choice. I've only hunted with the Impact twice. In those 2 outings I've been extremely impressed. It's easier to operate then the Deus. I like the sounds the Impact makes over the Deus. I've found more in these 2 hunts then I probably found with the CTX and Deus combined in the first month of using them. Honestly I can't choose one over the other at the moment. Which says a ton about the Impact. Time will tell

      It definitely appears to be competing with the CTX, if only visually. I look forward to those comparisons.

    • @charlescadrin8150
      @charlescadrin8150 7 років тому +1

      I don't think it is competing with the CTX. More with the Deus. But to be honest, every machine has a purpose and what one machine does good the other one may not. There is no such detector that does it all. Each type of technology has limits. That is why I am always looking for a tool to add to the arsenal and to compensate for the other machines weakness. I currently own a CTX, Whites Dual Field, Nokta Fors Core and was a previous owner to a F75 LTD, AT Pro, Racer 2, Sovereign GT, and more.

    • @ajbfwb
      @ajbfwb 7 років тому +1

      Well, I suppose that was my polite way of phrasing that Nokta has ripped off the look and much of the physical design of the CTX3030. That is certainly not meant to downplay it's potential as a performer. Sure, we're all looking for the ultimate single machine to cover every situation, but few will find that unicorn, unless they have a VERY narrow range of situations. To me, not much about the Impact says "XP Deus" except for the wireless headphones. As for the camlock shafts, I'm guessing Deus snarked that idea from Minelab. Again, we're talking about visuals here...the first thing people will see in the Nokta ad. Like yourself, I have at least a few tools in the box - 3 Minelabs, XP Deus, a Tesoro, and a White's. I'll still keep an eye out for that unicorn, though.

I have a promising property circa 1984 that needs pull tabs removed. The only thing i can find with my Quick Draw 2 lately is gold bars with some kind of roman numerals on them. Damn the luck!

    Do the TID numbers change for a target if you change the frequency being used, or do they remain the same going over the target? Great video!

    • @thehooverboys
      @thehooverboys  7 років тому +1

      Dang it. Good question. I'm not sure off hand. The number change on my Deus when I change frequency. I've don't most of my hunting in 14 KHz. I'd check but I'm not home at the moment

    • @GDzag-Minelab
      @GDzag-Minelab 7 років тому +1

      I had a Deus for 4 months and that was one thing I didn't like about it... the TID numbers changing on a target depending on the frequency being used. My X-Terra 705 didn't do that, the numbers were consistent, no matter what frequency (coil) you used... Thanks for the quick reply, when you have time, it'd be great to see if Nokta addressed that problem.

    • @thehooverboys
      @thehooverboys  7 років тому

      The Deus does have an option to familiarize the numbers but it's with the 18khz numbers. Just played with the Impact. Tested a quarter, Nickel, and penny. The numbers were familiarized. I noticed a slight difference from 5khz and 20khz. The quarter hit 87-88 on 5khz and 14khz It was a number lower in 20khz 86-87. The penny and nickel were the same thoughout. So to answer your question the numbers are familiarized.

    Oh wow! I"m waiting till you test this one out Kurt. Seems to good to be true. I had only this week decided to call Kellyco about a GTI2500 BUT this sounds like a winner, sound being the key word here.
    I love my AT Gold but as I have always relied on the sounds to get me on target.( the lack of back lighting on most MD's I've looked at are poor in bright sun at best) My only concern is it's not water proof and living in a rain forest this can tend to be a problem.
    Not to concerned about putting it under water as being able to use it in the rain, we get an average of 6-7 months of rainy weather and yet it is usually warm enough to put on a slicker and get out. The recovery is incredible, and well.....hurry up Kurt go digging GL&HH

    Hi, I used the impact for the first time today! its not too difficult to learn but I will just say this...GET THE PRO PACKAGE and wireless headphones! Why you ask? because first you need the dust cover and kickstand..lastly the most irritating thing is the cable is so darn long it gets caught on all my other gear (digger sheath, pinpointer, armpit etc; I know what I will be buying as soon as this thing finds me some money :D Trust me! I think the cable to the headphones is approximately 2 meters long! Other than that it works great so far ;)
