okay can we talk about the crazy good tone the tubas have.
i know right? they’re the best tuba section i’ll ever have in my time in high school. one is a tmea all stater, another plays in a symphony, and another is just good at what he does
@@KaweeweeBoy neat
@@KaweeweeBoy this popped up in my recommended and I was like "mm, maybe someone mentioned us in the comments." Hell yeah
I know right? I was just listening to them the whole time
The euphonium section is right on point.
I'm a Baritone Saxophone player going into 9th grade and I think you sound amazing! I hope we play stuff like this
Please, for the love of sanity, just say bari sax
@@clamchowder893 bari saxist
@@aletheia874 😭😭😭😭😭
Always good when I can hear a good young trombonist.
YEAHH BASS BONE SUPREMACY WOOOOOOOOO
I wish we had that capability when I was in high school. Enjoyed this.
great to hear the contribution of instruments other than melody ones. Sounds real good, there!
As a fellow bass bone I approve :)
Epic tone
I need start practicing more so o can get like this..💀
weewee boy haha
I saw the pov of both trumpets. You guys sound amazing.
im not actually in the same school as them, but thank you! they sound great too.
*Trombones
@@mystico4142 They’re probably talking about another video where there are trumpets.
Link pls
yeah i also saw one with clarinets
2:30 has always been my favorite part of this song. thank you trombonists for giving me that.
It’s makes me think of go big blue if you have any idea what that is
@@nathanyoung8434 fr fr (its a pep band stand tune) Same exact notes, but different rythms
@@nathanyoung8434 THAT'S WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO SAY!!! Except ours is called go big orange lol
My trombone section changed this part to “little brown jug” by Glenn Miller. Fits absolutely perfectly into the music too so the director let it slide 😂
@@DeeDubble88 yeah pretty much every school just calls it "go big (insert school spirit color here)"
its crazy how good they sound for just a high school band. every high school band I've listened too (including my own) has always sucked
Search ofallon marching panthers 2022 or broken arrow 2021 and find the most current field show :)
@@WRA-ik5dh broken arrow 2021 was better than 2022 tbh. Also marching band gets over 5-6 months of time to perfect their music, while concert bands mostly get around 1 month.
it’s all based on how much the kids practice out of school and how much the band director cares about teaching them!!! i get not everyone can take their instruments home.
I don't think so. But my middle school band had a very good teacher and was a very good class, so we ended up playing grade 4 pieces and doing quite well at it.
@Abi & Shandy. That's crazy! Even the good musicians of University high school in Irvine which is my high school only have around 150 musicians.
i played this in my winter concert this year but my band sounds like trash💀
yall sound really good tho, especially you, tone soothes my ears
i know the feeling lol
we got no rehearsals the week of our concert
(jazz band is prestine tho because we all practice)
We had the high schools jazz band play for us it was amazing.
We had our winter concert a month ago probably we did alright a lot of squeaks tho
Hey don’t call them trash you all just need more practice and to try harder they all try their best!
@@haroldisintrouble they don’t practice tho
I don’t either
We did to but we sounded good until the top band showed us up later in the concert
Listened to the audio recording and rather say the tone of the whole band is amazing! Also your tone is really beautiful! Sounds like everyone in the band actually works hard unlike my band… great job once again!
I'm just like "high schools sound like that now?" My high school band wasn't bad per se, but there would always be one section that's a bit out of line.
@@jnbplaysgames yes! I just think teachers working us individually a bit more would help! There’s just not very many players who try but could have potential to be really good.
Same my band was horrible I am in 5th grade
Ikr😂
@@jnbplaysgames its the trumpets in my band and it's not even lol of them
Super good and clean tone!! I like how you sound, nice work
thank you very much!
the amount of AIR and BREATH CONTROL this takes. respect from a fellow trombone player cuz damn dude
its not a super difficult piece
@@optionaljazz yes i’m aware lmao. i’m just saying they’re talented and their sound is very good
@@optionaljazz But the bass trombone is a fairly difficult instrument. Too much air, you're overpowering the entire band. Not enough air, nothing comes out. And that margin is pretty thin.
@@WSlopeAggie im aware, since i play the bass trombone.
woah he looks like my bf 😧😧
Ugh I'm addicted to these slay ride perspective videos
Very well done :)
Yessirrr I'm doing oboe and English horn (big oboe) for my honor symphony this year and I'm def gonna film it
20% playing skill, 80%counting skill
the life of a bass trombonist
not joking when i say i have 220 measures of rest in the beginning of one of our uil pieces
@@KaweeweeBoy felt that. I played tenor sax in high school and sometimes I’d get really cool/unique parts and other times I’d have the first like 3 sections filled with rests :’)
the life of euphonium players too. You know that you don't get enough composer love when you have a 3 measure, mostly half note solo and the entire section has a war over who will get to play probably the one solo in their high school band life.
I’m clarinet and it is so hard. You guys did amazing. It was perfect!
Omg same, we have no rests😂
I saw one of your comments on another video saying that you did one of these too. Fortunately this popped up on my recommended and good job! You’re amazing!
Was it the saxophone video too?
@@Jackietubepro I think so
The background and lighting looks really similar to these 2 trumpets who recorded their perspective.
haha, yeah i just realized that but we’re in separate schools
So interesting to hear this from the "trombones only" perspective. Very cool to see how the trombones really support the bottom end. By the way, You're a damn good trombonist! I seriously thought you were professional!

same LOL
I still think horns are cooler ☺️
Well done!
Also love the devil horns for the holiday concert 😂
haha thank you!! i saw the devil horns and had the sudden urge to wear it for the fun of it
I can’t with hats lol. I wore a Santa hat to our winter concert but started sweating a bit so I took it off.
@@extremecowz7694 yeah idk why but its always 200 degrees during a concert
@@parrotmaster8787 stage lights give off quite a bit of heat
Wow your Gb tuning slide is like really far in compared to mine lol, i have to pull mine like an uncomfortable amount out for it to be in tune, but yea really nice tone!! Glad to see my bass trombone brethren have some content as well
Great entertainment. Having heard that song sooooo often, a fresh new look is ever so enjoyable! Instructive too!
Very nice !!!! Good job, you are a fine musician !!
thank you!
What fun. She is so good and her expressions are priceless. My husband plays the bass trombone, so I have an appreciation for all the work.
i’m pretty sure he’s a man

pretty sure he's a boy, haha, but i agree! very impressive playing
I want to see one of these but instead its the sleigh bells player POV
maybe next year
That would be awesome
nice ears
I listened at the link and this it is a rather above average performance for a high school.
I just stumbled onto your video. Your tone is spot on and you have that great brassy sound in all the right locations in the music. You are a GREAT trombonist! Keep it up! By the way, I play the same part in our local community band!
It made me so happy to see that I’m not the only one who pushes my glasses up at the middle. I feel like I always see people push them at the sides, or even at the edge of the lens.
bruh okay- im a singer but its not like I don't know anything about other instruments, right? like I gethow string instruments work and woodwind, and most brass like trumpets etc. but I have NEVER understood how trombones fuckin work is it like a kazoo do you have to hum into it when you blow air??? i get the little black thing you push with your thumb but literally nothing else pls help wtf.
trombones work by vibrating or “buzzing” your lips in a mouthpiece that gets amplified through the instrument. manipulating the slide basically makes the trombone longer or shorter changing the note to the desired pitch. think a slide whistle, but with a mouthpiece and is made of brass. this was the best my 1 am self could think of, hope it helped!
Played that exact piece this Christmas. God it was boring, no matter how fast we played it. Best part we’re the accidental-ridden half notes halfway through. Oh, and the jazz bit. Honestly though, didn’t mind playing it, and still don’t. I don’t mind boring parts as long as it sounds good, and that’s why I like playing the bass trombone, in a very poorly explained way.
i get what you mean haha
This makes me kind of miss being in the school band. I never got along with anyone though - and I quit 8 years ago so it's too late now haha.
why am I finding every part to this
I played this about 3 years ago on tuba and it's fun to still recognize my part :)
it's time for our parts to be recognized lol
I mean this as a positive thing I promise, you are very much gender. If you don't know what that means here's a definition and have a wonderful rest of your day/night! (A term used largely by transgender/nonbinary people to describe something or someone that has the same energy/aesthetic as their gender identity. Not to be confused with gender envy.)

All of you sound incredible! Does your school have band “tiers” at all? Like Concert-Symphonic-Winds ? Cuz this sounds like how my school’s winds ensemble would sound. Incredible tone quality all around!
This was the 2021 Varsity Band or Wind Ensemble at Shadow Creek High School
The boy next to him👀
Great tone! Outstanding performance by your entire group!
I’ve been a bunch of these videos and you’re finally the first clean one ✊🏻
Those clarinets have amazing tone omg what
Don’t worry guys, he’s a girl
Our band practiced for 2 weeks to play this song but the principal gave the choice to the students to pick sleigh ride or jingle bells.
Guess what they chose!
Jingle bells………
2 weeks gone
I’m a French horn player btw :D
kind of late but great show! i just finished sleigh ride with my school's band also is that a douglas yeo mouthpiece i think we may have the same
I always liked 1:45 when we played but the counter melody yall add omg it's gorgeous, it's small but it adds a lot (from a clarinetist from across the band, I appreciate you)
We doing this for my middle school concert it sounds nothing like this probably cause we just started
Crying, the clarinets sound beautiful
Sounds great! I ounce had 45 measures of just repeated quarter note Gs with an A every other measure lol
I didn't know Mirabel played the trombone! :0
we are learning a whole different version of sleigh ride
My band director wants us to play this and i have 1st part clarinet 🥲
L+Ratio 🗿
used to be a trom player...you are so good man... excellent pitching. subbed..:) show more content for sure
I can’t tell if your a beautiful woman or a handsome man or a hot them (idk man 😭)
this is me still listening christmas songs at the last week of january lol. very clean play btw
What grade are you, my grade 7/8th class is playing this rn for our concert
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! who is that!!!!!!!!!! he is so good!!!!!!!!!
Your supposed to use the slide with 1 finger on the bottom and 1 finger on the outer part of the slide but still you have a good tone
i play tenor and ahh how i miss this. Band was great. Keep up the good work fellas.
CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABT THAT CLARINET FOR A SEC?!?!??? DANGGG
Kudos to the trumpet player who nailed the horse whinny. I've heard it done well. and botched as well.
What I want to know is where the hell did this school get the funding for a bass trombone??
Or is it your own?
We do a lot of fundraising and we also have band fees and other things that we pay for (i.e. band hats, uniforms, etc). I have two bass trombones that I borrow from the school and do not own, and I also have a tenor trombone that I do own.
@@KaweeweeBoy that must be a hell of a lot of fundraising and fees cause my band does the same thing but we're dirt poor
we have the exact same arrangment! i am one of the lead trumpets
Why are you wearing devil horns? lmao
Great tone! And a shoutout to my fellow Tubas, they’re sounding real solid!
Woodblock always goes so hard
Great video! I will say, as a bass trombone I don’t really miss concert band that much tbh😂 there’s some good hard excerpts here and there but for the most part it’s things like this lol
This is literally the 7th POV I'm seeing of this
Bro we played this in 7th grade
Super great tone from the whole band! Awesome!
SO GOOD! Ive always wanted to have/play a really nice F attachment trombone but my high school was broke and only had one and the first chair used it and i dont own one
Nice trombone which model is it 👍
good job!! nice tone....hard to stay totally in tune on a tbone...you did a good job!!
Sounds so good!!
thank you!
you did too!
May God bless you ! You’re gunna do great for ur school year ! Put God first and everything will fall into place ! John 3:16 says , “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. “ 💕
I was going to post something like this on a trumpet pov but I played so bad 😭😭you guys are so lucky that you don’t have to wear masks and covers as well
we’re playing this this year n our trombones could never 😭😭

do you have a key on ur trombone??
Beautiful music played by a beautiful girl. What's not to like?
its a boy
I’m just going around trying to find all of these videos lool
good luck, there’s a lot of us!
Man I miss playing trombone, when I got to high school for some reason my school only had marching and I think jazz where I just wanted to do concert stuff.
Gonna be playing this on bass trombone for our next Christmas concert so this helped
what did you use to record yourself?
my phone :) (an iphone xr)
Leroy Anderson! My dad was a trombone player - worked for the "BBC Northern Ireland Light Orchestra". This is the kind of thing they used to perform every day - it was 'light music' like this. He used to tell me this was quite difficult to play - classics were a lot easier!
Sleigh ride on the bass trombone gang? This part was pretty fun. Have you played Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson? The bass trombone part there is a lot of fun.
He has another video on his channel of the perspective of a bass trombone playing that song
So I keep getting these different instrument perspectives and I think the kid behind you was one
I have probably seen the whole orchestra of instruments by now
i should’ve recorded my winter concert, i played clarinet in sleigh ride 😅
Wheres the tuba cam for sleigh ride
Guava juice?
Nice to see this from another perspective. I've played the Euphonium part first when I like you was a HS student (67-72) and then recently last December in a local Concert Band. Cheers and thanks for sharing.
