    Lying here in my sleeping bag, in the woods, it is strangely enjoyable watching someone else playing in the woods too.

    A little case with half a dozen Stanley blades and a pencil sharpener for fine cutting and making small tinder and putting a proper point on your pencil. Good video 👍

    I've got some nice red jute cord. I'd be more inclined to use that for markers, as it's biodegradeable, in the case that i am not able to return for it for whatever reason. Glow sticks are already high tech, so why not go all the way and just use GPS markers? Again for the same reason.

    Good day!
    I fancy your haversack but you don't seem to say where I could get one.
    Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.
    Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!

    YES!! I have been keeping my eyes on the shop. I've been wanting at least 2 color patches. Have 2 other patches. And the small EDC kit. That Haversack looks good. It's pretty hot down south, across the pond. But, I'm getting ready for Fall.

      North, in the northern hemisphere, don't know about the southern but it should reverse.

    Additions to the haversack:
    -match safe
    -quality space blanket
    -contractor’s bag (3 mil to save bulk)
    -tiny can of pepper spray
    -H20 tabs
    -Cliff bars
    -mini binoculars
    In the spirit of keeping the haversack as slender in profile as possible I’d marry the contractor’s bag and space blanket and shrink them down flat w/my Food Saver.

    Not sure about leaving glowsticks lying around that are small enough to be ingested by and poison the wildlife?

    Carrying anything hard at the lower back is risky, in the case of a backwards fall, the spine could be injured.

    • @Horde334
      @Horde334 2 роки тому

      That means you should never wear a backpack either after all you could injure your spine or you could wrap yourself up in bubble wrap and be safe that way cause even without a backpack you can fall on your back and injure your spine without either.

    10:01. Agree with everything but “leaving micro-cord round trees as markers” and, especially these glow sticks. Whatever happened to LNT ethos?🧐
    What about, instead of leaving string around trees, using what’s already there, a forked stick stuck in the ground, an unobtrusive little cairn of stones etc?

    • @BourneOutside
      @BourneOutside 2 роки тому

      I'm sure Greencraft wouldn't leave the item(s) there and not bother picking them up the next day. They are just markers for an easy return the following day/night.

    • @greencraft4783

      As Bourne said, I clear all traces as I go. They are temporary and are never out for more than 72 hours. The "green" in Greencraft isn't because its my favourite colour. Our motto is "keeping you safe in the outdoors....and keeping the outdoors safe from you!"

      @@greencraft4783 I’m happy to hear this, I would have thought you would, it wasn’t clear in the video though. I thought it was an important thing to raise as there will be watchers who have, perhaps, not taken “LNT” on board fully, and may, from the video, think it’s an acceptable thing to do. No offence meant! I really enjoy your videos, and follow your FB page.😁

    Is this a warm weather? or cold weather kit? This seems to be a very poor haversack kit and rather a run around camp bag. This seems more of what we call a back up bag something we carry when we heavy ruck or pack into camp and need a bag to carry minor pieces of gear for tasks around the immediate vicinity. Haversack kits are stand alone kits that have everything we need to survive if forced to or at the very least contain the 10 c's. It is a cute walk away " brew " kit but not a haversack kit and definitely not a scout or stealth kit. Best regards Dutch

    • @greencraft4783
      @greencraft4783  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks Dutch. Very informative answer. Are you saying I'm not carrying enough? Your 10 C's are covered in the kit, I don't need anything else. I have studied a lot of different people's work and ideas over the years, tried them out and found the ones that work for me. As I have got older I try to carry less, but have the knowledge to back up if things go wrong. There seems to be a lot of "gurus " out there, but no single one has the right way for me. I'm happy doing what I'm doing and it works for me.
      Who is "we" BTW?
