I consider myself an outcast. I have a hard time fitting in with any social group. It always has to do with being accepted as part of the group. If someone whom I perceive to be an "alpha" type does not accept me, I reject the group all together because no one else will stand up for myself but me. Therefore, I do things alone. Like absolutely, we shouldn't short-change Lee in her contributions to what made Fallen successful. Her songwriting skills are obviously incredible, and her aesthetic and even having a female vocalist in metal/hard rock at the time was a major selling point, not to mention her powerful voice... but Fallen still remains Evanescence's most successful album and not one of their follow up albums has come even close to that. And that's largely down to the sound. Fallen was successful, ultimately, because it infused pop music chord sequences into songs, which makes them memorable, catchy, and familiar. It turned hard rock/metal into something incredibly accessible... and the follow up albums just don't do that in the same way. Ben Moody's writing style - lyrics and melody - is incredibly distinct and he's proven that he's not a one-trick pony in the wealth of songs he's written for artists spanning countless genres. I'm not gonna pretend to have all the facts on what happened during that 2003 tour. Ben himself has said he was toxic and way out of line, but that doesn't magical erase his contribution to the album. The success of Fallen is down to the explosive chemistry between Lee and Moody, and while that is ultimately the thing that sent them in opposite ways, it was also the magical X factor that made the songs so damn good that they're still so revered.

I like these remixes. They remind me of Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory with a little bit of Crystal Method thrown in. Ben is a guitarist though, and I wish he had thrown in a bit more guitar "CHUG" to add a bit more dimension to the songs.

Desde ese entonces Amy no compartió más la marca con nadie, aunque aparezcan acreditados en canciones otros artistas, ella tiene el control absoluto de la dirección creativa que quiera tomar con Ev. Pero resulta algo llamativo, que Ev es mucho más que Amy sola tocando, y hasta el mismo fallen estuvo diseñado para que ella sea la imagen central, pero porque hubo toda una producción e idea de fondo para que eso haya salido como salió. Rocky Grey tuvo mucha influencia indirecta en Ev y en fallen, por ser amigo de Ben, ser más grande y tener experiencias con bandas cristianas de death metal, la influencia de Rocky a Ben fue tal, que hasta imita el doble tambor en estás bases que hace, en esos programas de hace muchos años como decís, imitando la doble pedalera que es bien característico en el general metal. Ben quería que en un principio sea Amy quien se fuera de la banda, usando como motivo que ella al ser mujer e imagen central de la banda, tendría más oportunidades de seguir, y seguramente así hubiera sido! El cambio de un baterísta a otro fue notorio, la doble percusión y el estilo de ritmo de Grey que tanto imita Ben en esos programas, es lo que saben hacer y ojalá lo sigan haciendo. Y si, la distorsión de Amy en esto es adrede, como tambien todo lo que pasó con WATF, cada uno procesa los traumas individuales como puede! The label's A&R who signed Evanescence said herself in an interview that what made her sign Ev was: "The band had yet to write “Bring Me to Life” and their current single “Going Under”, but Amy had a tremendous voice. Her voice, the band's gothic sound and the lyrics were nothing less than amazing and unlike anything out there." And My Immortal's fictional words were written by Ben, which is why Amy has always called it his song and she has never connected with it because it's not her words. The music was written by Amy and Ben, Amy wrote the piano, the melody, and added the bridge. And all the other songs are Amy's.
3 - Ev was solely Amy's sonic fusion vision since before she started it. She created Ev on he own musical vision. Since she was kid, she wanted to explore various genres she loved and studied and expand on that across albums. Ben was just a lucky bloke she happened to meet at a camp at 13 years old and he wanted to be befriend her and date her. He would've gone nowhere without her and her bringing her musical vision and work to him to which he co-wrote his lame, hack guitar. Amy could've started Ev with any guitarist, and a far better guitarist would've been the dream, such as her real musical partner Terry Balsamo starting 2004.
I'm aware that after leaving Ev, Ben went off to do what he really wanted, co-write for pop stars. And then crashed. And yes, Ben has always been a mediocre, one-note hack guitarist, bottom of the barrel, a toxic and sabotaging narcissistic jerk, and a desplcable, callous, woman-beatlng abuser. I know you Ben fans love all that about him and support him and you feel the disgustlng need to "protect" your favorite abuser when people rightfully call him out for it.

I can see why you wouldn't want to include "We Are The Fallen" considering their label dropped them after one album, effectively proving that Ben was not the reason people like Evanescence (as if that wasn't already extremely obvious to literally everyone except Ben).

Like absolutely, we shouldn't short-change Lee in her contributions to what made Fallen successful. Her songwriting skills are obviously incredible, and her aesthetic and even having a female vocalist in metal/hard rock at the time was a major selling point, not to mention her powerful voice... but Fallen still remains Evanescence's most successful album and not one of their follow up albums has come even close to that. And that's largely down to the sound. Fallen was successful, ultimately, because it infused pop music chord sequences into songs, which makes them memorable, catchy, and familiar. It turned hard rock/metal into something incredibly accessible... and the follow up albums just don't do that in the same way.
Ben Moody's writing style - lyrics and melody - is incredibly distinct and he's proven that he's not a one-trick pony in the wealth of songs he's written for artists spanning countless genres. I'm not gonna pretend to have all the facts on what happened during that 2003 tour. Ben himself has said he was toxic and way out of line, but that doesn't magical erase his contribution to the album.
The success of Fallen is down to the explosive chemistry between Lee and Moody, and while that is ultimately the thing that sent them in opposite ways, it was also the magical X factor that made the songs so damn good that they're still so revered.

And Troy is also a great guitarist and Terry himself praised him. You Ben fans love trashing everything that Ben wasn't a part of, and only single out TOD because it's now considered Ev's best, so I don't care about your opinion of TBT or any other album. TBT was named by many publications one of the best hard rock and metal albums of the year and it's a sonically varied and evolved record, faaaar above Fallen.

Pero resulta algo llamativo, que Ev es mucho más que Amy sola tocando, y hasta el mismo fallen estuvo diseñado para que ella sea la imagen central, pero porque hubo toda una producción e idea de fondo para que eso haya salido como salió. Rocky Grey tuvo mucha influencia indirecta en Ev y en fallen, por ser amigo de Ben, ser más grande y tener experiencias con bandas cristianas de death metal, la influencia de Rocky a Ben fue tal, que hasta imita el doble tambor en estás bases que hace, en esos programas de hace muchos años como decís, imitando la doble pedalera que es bien característico en el general metal. Ben quería que en un principio sea Amy quien se fuera de la banda, usando como motivo que ella al ser mujer e imagen central de la banda, tendría más oportunidades de seguir, y seguramente así hubiera sido! El cambio de un baterísta a otro fue notorio, la doble percusión y el estilo de ritmo de Grey que tanto imita Ben en esos programas, es lo que saben hacer y ojalá lo sigan haciendo. Y si, la distorsión de Amy en esto es adrede, como tambien todo lo que pasó con WATF, cada uno procesa los traumas individuales como puede! Pero mientras se pueda transmutar en arte mejor, esta versión que hizo me remonto un poquito a lo que sentía cuando escuchaba ese álbum en ese año y en esa edad, era como si fuera estar viendo una película de terro, que después rara vez lo volví a sentir
