Dr. Evans is basically better than Google Translate
Thank you Danny - as always, excellent presentation - thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Gracias Danny! I have been going around saying “tienes que esto, tienes que eso” but I had a suspicion directly translating from English was not ideal in this situation. It’s “ hay que..” when speaking generally from now on!
Great,, please give us lesson about the auxiliary verb haber it's quite important thank you
Mucho gracias!
You mean “MUCHAS” gracias.
Cheers from Australia dude
Cheers!
Hay que trabajar y estudiar mucho.
Muchas gracias Dr. Your channel is fabulous and lively one. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Another great lesson! Otra leccion major!
Mejor no major ! But we usually say : otra gran lección.
The "hay que" form was easy for me to understand, which made me think how it works in my language, which is Polish. Apparently we have something similar, a verb that doesn't take a subject. It's actually used just for this one purpose. Languages are weird sometimes.
really useful, thank you
What about necesitar, se necesita? It belongs in this lesson as the mildest form of "have to." Also, tener que is like an imperative in the sense that it pretty much means you have to do it or you better do it for the good of yourself or somebody else. I'm seeing more and more skimpiness as these Spanish lessons progress. A strong grounding in grammar should come first, then examinations of particular difficulties in the language could follow.
Thank you for this video.
Simple And Great 🔥🔥🔥🔥
(brain)=(brainwithcheatcode)=new Spanish level achieved congratulations!!!
Thank you sir
hay que (one must) great! Por ejemplo, hay que conducir un coche con mucho cuidado
Ok, thanks for the tutorial. What about the verb Deber???
- Deber + infinitive (obligation) -> Ella debe trabajar. [She must work]
- Deber + de + infinitive (prediction) -> Debe de hacer frío. [It must be cold]
Great lesson. It’s more common in the UK for some people to say “one must do something” particularly if they’re posh/well-spoken so this is how I remember it!
Agree, nice lectures! Ad the expression : "One" have to .. we say same in Nowegian " Man må studere" ("man" is not "man" (male) in English but "one". "One" have to study.
@@fatemehshewan5191 The same thing exists in Spanish, besides "hay que estudiar", we can say "uno tiene que estudiar", so we have two ways of saying this.
@@gerlautamr.656 Si, pero en nuestro idioma se generaliza la expresión con el género masculino y en noruego, además de uno o una, hay una expresión neutra.
@@angelmatematico45 Es bueno saberlo.
Do you have any lessons on reported speech in Spanish? Thanks.
Gran leccion!
Me gusta mucho esta video clip.
Can you please tell me how you placed that white background?
Green screen
Mucho interesante Gracias
You mean “MUY” interesante
Great lesson!! I didn't know this before! Gracias!!
Can you do a video on how to say stop in Spanish
Soy hispanohablante nativo por si alguien quiere practicar español, a mi tambien me gustaria practicar mi ingles con alguien nativo...
Quiero hablar mejor español. ¿Podemos hacer algo juntos por tu inglés y mi español?
Excellent. It is rather goofy that in English we say “you” in this situation
Next time someone asks me
“how would you ,,,,”
I’ll just say “well, I wouldn’t do that.”
@David Bork hardly anybody says that here in U.K. I can assure you .
the canary island version of bus is guagua
Besides hay tener what other formulas are there
To say one of us has to implying us can it be hay Que nosotros hacer algo?
Tan chido...gracias.
Is the pronoun necessary when using tener? I.e., is it okay to say, "Tengo que estudiar"?
Yes that’s okay
It isn't necessary, since there isn't any chance of ambiguity."Tengo" only applies to the "yo" form. But it's not incorrect if you use the pronoun, it only sounds a bit unnatural if you use it all the time.
Can you use “se” instead of hay que?
The first thing that popped in my mind of something people have to do in general is
Tener que pagar impuestos
Or
Hay que pagar impuestos
It's getting close to tax season in the U.S.
I’ve used “necesito ir” or “necesito que ir” in the past. Is that improper Spanish?
You can say "Necesito ir", that's correct. But perhaps it's more common to say "Tengo que ir". Now, If you're going to use "necesitar" you can't insert "que" between "necesitar" and "ir". So, it's incorrect to say "necesito que ir". The right form is "necesito ir". More examples: Necesito dormir (I need to sleep), Necesito trabajar (I need to work), Necesitamos descansar (We need to rest), etc.
@@nelsonrivas7397 "Necesito que ir" is not correct, that doesn´t mean anything
@@alejandrojoselizano ¿Eh? ¿Acaso dije que "Necesito que ir" era correcto?
El dijo que lo correcto es "necesito ir"

How can we say In Spanish
HE SENDS ME IT
You can say: Él me lo envía.
@@nelsonrivas7397 That's correct. In this case it's better to use the pronoun "he" to avoid ambiguity with "she" and "you" (formal).
@@nelsonrivas7397 thx
I struggled with this because of the "que".
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Surprised you didn't mention "deber" in place of tener que.
Why tomar? Use to take a bus. As I have learned "Tomar or to take is used to take food, to take a drink." But to take a bus" Tomar a bus, that I was confused ❓
