Another good repair, Thanks for the video.
In my experience, I have repaired quite a few iPhone 11 boards, mainly for that no signal issue that stems from certain caps on 2-3 specific lines shorting or partial shorting causing it to be searching all the time, but that aside, I have found that those boards are very heat sensitive, they use 138 solder from the factory so, you only need to go to about 150c or so to split it safely. I found that sometimes if I reballed them with 183 instead of 138 and I had to heat the board to 200c to have the half's solder back together, I found in about 1/5 cases, the baseband would end up with cold solder. However, using a good quality 138 solder, and heating to 150c i found in over 100 iPhone 11's I have never had a cold solder issue under the baseband and issues related to the bottom board again. It just kinda scared me when you heated it up at the start so hot.
On another note. When it comes to removing that plate, I find it is much safer to just use a rotary tool of some sort, and as long as you are very careful not to press too hard, or scratch the board or any components, it works very well. I guess the only trade off is, you have no plate left to solder back on there.

Yes, I've been fixing these for years on a regular basis. I understand how to handle the heat on them. Never had an issue as you described.

@@VCCBoardRepairs Absolutely, To be clear, I wasn't criticizing your work, You do a very professional job, I have been watching for a long time now, I have seen the quality of your work.
I think there are a lot of technicians out there who watch these videos to learn how to solder, and I think it is important to share our stories and experiences so that after they have watched the video, they can read the comments and perhaps be encouraged to share their own
To be honest the issues I was referring to are long term, say 3-6 months down the track. A lot of the devices I repair have been sold, and come with warranty for 1-2 years, which is where I can see the issues come back over time, in the short term there is no issues to worry about.
Any way, as I said the first time, Another great repair, Thanks for the video. And I will add too, Please keep making more, I love to see them

what if your shorted component was on the bottom board? can you manually inject power to still use the thermal camera to identify the overheating component? multimeter probes perhaps?
