This scene made me cry both times I saw this movie several years apart. Isolation and destruction after your daughter died, followed by everyone around you dying. These space movies hit insanely hard. Was the same with First Man, and don't even get my started with Interstellar.
It's from the short called "Aninqaaq", directed by the other Cuaron. Can't recall his name. If you buy the film, you can find the short at special features.
Wasting today worrying about tomorrow, overlooking moments of beauty and happiness, moving too quickly - until it happens - you slow down, everyone passes you by, everything slips through your fingers... Wasting today, longing for yesterday, missing moments of bliss and wonder... Clarity comes too late for most people.
2:45 - 3:16 is what this is all about. She prayed. In the next scene Lt. Kowalski opens the hatch and climbs in. He shows Dr. Stone how to use the landing rockets to maneuver the Soyuz spacecraft. But he also talks about Dr. Stone loosing her child which she just was thinking about when on the radio. Then Dr. Stone wakes up when he says "Time to go home." Lt. Kowalski is not there. At the end when she crawls out of the water and starts to stand up she says, "Thank you."
I think i understand the first words i think he says “i am Aningaaq and you are Mayday.” And he also Said “i can not tell you where i fish”Yeah that’s what i understood. I think he’s Greenlandic just like me
While "Gravity" is a good movie and Sandra Bullock's performance exemplary, it is not realistic that a mentally unstable Astronaut would be send to space. Astronauts have a very stable and balanced psyche, otherwise they would not be selected for a mission.
How was she unstable? It's not like she was insane or diagnosed with any chemical imbalances. There's been several special operations operators that have become astronauts and have legitimately been through unbelievable combat operations. Andrew Morgan and Jonny Kim for example.
Sandra Bullock deserved an Oscar. She was amazing in this.
I agree, but Cate Blanchett (who won) was great in Blue Jasmine too
That’s my uncle Otto Ignatiussen speaking on the radio
He passed away in 2019
Martian was good, but the character never hits that gut and soul punch that gravity delivers...
Martian was fun, but Gravity actually made me cry

Do not go gentle into that good night, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
"I used to sing to my baby. I hope I see her soon."
why this scene be cutting onions
The version of Gravity I saw didn't show Aningaaq at all.
It's from the short called "Aninqaaq", directed by the other Cuaron. Can't recall his name.

cryora yes me too
I thought it was more powerful how they only showed Ryan
Same here. I imagined a man in his home with child and dog. Maybe Russia or some Asian country.
@@hey.hombre damn me 2 in Asia
3:16 it tugs my heart strings listening to that baby while aningaaq sings to the baby
지구의 모든 것이 소중해지는 순간입니다. 한줌의 흙, 한방울의 물, 발바닥으로 땅 위를 걷고, 호흡하고, 개짓는 소리 하나하나가 더없이 소중해집니다.

*A wonderful short film in agreement with the movie*
I always found his singing so calming and soothing during very despairing moment
This was my favorite scene
Same lol
X 2
Thrice
Always say your own prayers to survive anything.
2:24 - one of the most poignant and iconic lines in all of film, maybe humanity.
I love the sound track
Its Awesome 👌
I actually saw this scene in the film.
Same
God bless. 😊
Great actors 😂.
Bu filmin özelliği tek kameraya sürekli akış tekniği ile çekilmesi. Sahnelerde kesilme, atlama yoktu. Yanlış mı hatırlıyorum?
Well done.
Gravity easter egg!
And i cried and cried and cried and cried
What the hell, this was in the movie?? Aningaaq's part looks like a meme just edited in I didn't know whether to laugh or not xD
This was in DVD version. Which had the iceland guy as a bonus mini-film. At least the DVD i had.
@@blurrrrrr44 oh ok thats crazy didn't know xD
@@blurrrrrr44 yeah mine came as a deleted scene only in dvd but I wish it showed it put together with the movie itself
That's life 😊
That's the shot.
When I saw the movie, I thought she accidently cough a radio station and it was just a radio show :D
Best dogs.
I so prefer this scene without the scenes on Earth added
Never give up.
Clever woman.
To survive anything woff.
Original scene is more powerful, helps reinforce the feeling of loneliness
WTF is with the gunshot at the end?
He had to shoot his favourite sled dog because she was old and sick.
What people on the space ships 😊
I guess I'm alone in this but the barking was the cringiest thing I've seen and it's all I can think about when someone mentions this movie 😂
I agree. I quite like Gravity overall, but for some reason I always remember the stupid barking the most 🤦♀️
No worries.
Wolftones 😊
If you say a prayer for us. 😂
Eventually everyone will die. So teach the children.
They should have included the short film Aningaaq here
Looks to be the same set of movie clips in a deffering sequence kids. But very relavant to modern motor car issues.
Woff is very clever. 😂
