0:13. We still have a lot of work to do for the right pronunciation of "Zucchero"! @Aris1956 😀😀 OH, we are pretty well known for getting our pronunciations badly wrong on here, we almost melted the internet when I tried to say the names of the members from Nightwish!! It was not a pretty comments section!!😀 Thank you for your comment.
Zucchero is a good friend of Brian May and they played a few times together. The Italian bluesman sang with Queen in the concert dedicated to the memory of Freddie Mercury. By the way, I would like to suggest some really beautiful Zucchero songs: - Menta e rosmarino - Il volo - Pane e sale (there is also an English version that was used for the soundtrack of an American film) - Madre dolcissima - Così celeste - Miserere (feat. Pavarotti)
Fun fact: the icelandic version of Zucchero's "Così celeste" ('celeste' in italian means both 'light blu' and 'celestial/heavenly', as 'cielo' is 'sky') in Iceland is the most popular Christmas song. It is considered a Xmas song in Italy too - a very popular one- but nobody knows why since nothing seems to recall this Feast.

I'm SO glad that I back-tracked to the Zucchero and Eric Clapton song "Hey Man" because this one, as usual, has been another great journey. Eric Clapton is not new to me. But, Zucchero certainly is. I love Zucchero's voice and was immediately drawn into the song by his vocals. Then, I swear, after the first few seconds when Eric Clapton started playing his guitar...it just made me cry. I adore his guitar playing abilities and his collaboration with Zucchero and his vocals...what can I say? Of course, this being a slow song, made this review all the more pleasurable, for me. Since I have now heard a LOT more of Zucchero's music, now, and I'm already a fan of EC's, I probably would have given it a much higher score, just because it DID make it to my "Favorites" playlist. There were several comments that I followed out, in terms of other songs to listen to. In particular Roberto Egosum pointed me 1st in the direction of Zucchero's Christmas song "Cosi Celeste". It was just lovely. As it turns out, both Roberto and I liked the Zucchero and Pavarotti (with children's choir) rendition of this song the best. Then, Roberto sent me on a Zucchero quest to listen to "Diamante" and "Mente e Rosmarino". He gives a splendid description of the song's interpretations (since they are in Italian) for me in the comment section (please review them from the Comment Section, and I will not retype them here). They are both beautiful songs and I especially liked the "Diamante" song. I think Roberto may be my new Italian friend, now. At least, I hope so. While I was checking out Roberto's recommendations, I stumbled onto Zucchero performing John Lennon's "Imagine" with Randy Crawford (another new artist, to me, and she has a nice, powerful voice!). It was another great find. Several others in the comments mentioned Pino Daniele who was another great artist. I listened to so many of his songs. He's a good vocalist and an excellent guitar player. "Puozze passà' nu guaio" and "Yes I Know My Way" were both excellent songs. There was also a collaboration with fellow compagno di chitarra, or guitar compadre, Eric Clapton on his songs "Wonderful Tonight" and also "Cocaine" that are really worth listening to. Daniele has passed away. Eric Clapton dedicated a song to him at Pino Daniele's funeral services. The song is short, but very nice and is called "For Pino". EC plays the guitar and just sings the notes, as there are no words, to this song. It's very moving when you think about the song as a tribute to his good friend. I know this has been long, but I would be seriously remiss if I didn't mention Paul Weller, here. This is especially for BP1, since I hear you are a big fan.😁 Well, I just love his voice, too. I think I listened to at least 10 of his songs and all, but one, went on a playlist. BP1, have you heard the song Paul Weller sings with Amy Winehouse "Don't Go to Strangers"? Okay...go check it out. 🤗 Consider it part of your musical education. All-in-all, this has been one of my most rewarding experiences with Brit Pops React. And, to anyone, who endured this narrative, I thank you, too. 🙂
@Debbie Lewis Good Evening to you. How wonderful to hear that you are also finding others with a passion for music and they are helping you to discover even more artists that you enjoy. We knew of Zucchero here in the UK, due to the duet with Paul Young. Pino Daniele is new to me, but when I wen tot check for anything he had done with Eric Clapton, they were all the very well know songs that EC has done A LOT, so it may be a little tricky to do a reaction to those as they are so well know, unless there was a real difference in them. Ohhh, BP1 loves Paul Weller, not sure why he is not more taken with him as he does appear on quite a lot of Oasis and Noel G's songs, maybe just a personal choice. I have listened to some of the new songs from Paul Weller and I must confess they are a bit. "Grandad Mod", quite slow and not the younger angry man we once enjoyed. Paul Weller and Amy, yes, that's a very nice song. Thank you for enjoying our channel and getting the most from it, we could not have imagined we would touch people in such a way when we started out on this and the more we do it, the more genuine and relaxed we become with it. If a few more would take your direction and just dive right in and just go with the flow and see where we go next, that would be wonderful. If nothing else, we know that you and maybe a few others "Get us".. Thanks for all the support, we really do appreciate it. 🙂🙂
@@BritPopsReact Oh well, you and BP1 make it very easy to be enthusiastic about checking out all these new artists/songs. That's one of the many things that drew me to this channel. You guys talk about the influences that you hear in the music and that helps us, too. Plus, there is no way that you can read our minds to see who/what we want to check out. I would bet that others would not check out the same artists or even the same songs that I picked out and that's fine. It was fun and I learned a lot. There are some other leads (noted in my spiral notebook) that I want to pursue, i.e., Paul Young, Style Council, Sanremo (a location, perhaps?), etc. But, I have to move on. There's so many I have to catch up on! I will go back to my notes eventually. I think you are right about Pino Daniele, as it relates to collaborations on EC's song. I figured you would be more interested in just enjoying his excellent abilities as a guitarist. I just noticed a couple of notes in the margins about Pino that say "great soulful guitarist" and on the song "Cocaine" with EC, I wrote "totally rockin' guitar playing", which were observations I made to myself. So, he definitely made an impression on me. I know you would enjoy his music on an afternoon, when you can spend time picking through his discography. It is so sad that he has passed away, too. So yeah, I'm still having a blast. I need to move forward and get to the next videos. I may combine a couple, like Vannda and ONE OK ROCK, where I have missed 2 each of their videos in a short amount of time. I may combine the comments and just post 2 comments, instead of 4. We'll see how that goes. The remark about BP1 and Paul Weller was just me picking at BP1. You shouldn't have to take all the jabs from me. 😁 I just went through Weller's songs starting from the top and working down, through the videos. Had to make myself stop and get a little bit of sleep. Paul Weller is now a favorite of mine. Every now and then, I need to chill out to his kind of music. I was afraid you were going to be mad because I told that Chris Stapleton troll to leave your channel. He asked for my e-mail address and identified himself/herself as Chris Stapleton. I doubt very seriously that Chris Stapleton would ever reply to my comment. Besides, the person said it was their channel, too. Give me a break! But, I was nice, so I'm pretty sure you're not going to kick me out of the club. If you do kick me out, I will just go find a club in Ibiza. 😂 It's very late in the UK, so I will close for now. Get some rest so you will be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed tomorrow (Thursday). ~DL 🙂
I was raised bilingual (German / Italian), so I grew up with all kinds of music in these languages. There is so much great music that isn't sung in english. I'm glad that these artists are being discovered by a greater audience.
If you'd like to check out another blues Italian champions, try Pino Daniele. He's passed away too early, unfortunately. A couple of suggestions: Yes I Know My Way, and Napul'è.
We Italians seek, watch, listen and appreciate great English or American rock or soul and blues or pop music. You cannot define yourself as a music critic without opening your eyes beyond your wall and not understanding the lyrics, does not allow for any reaction or judgment.
Thanks for Reaction ! ^_^ There are also duets with Sting. In 1994 he had Sting sing in Italian by re-adapting the song "Mad About You" - "Muoio Per Te".
Thank you for this reaction. Two artists that I like, especially Eric Clapton. Maybe I was aspecting something different, I already knew that song of Zucchero and it's not one of my favourites. But it was nice to see them plaing together.

Zucchero is pronounced, “Zook - Keh - Row” … say it all at once and you get Zucchero. He was a student of BB King, here in the USA, just like Clapton. They are very good friends and Zucchero sings in Italian, French, English, and Spanish … he has a plethora of videos with other legends wanting to make videos, and songs, with him.
@@BritPopsReact ... no worries, I am actually of half Italian / Sicilian descent with British, as well. I am a European mutt, to be honest, but I do respect these people that bring so much joy and saying someone's name, correctly, does mean something in this world still. Glad I could assist with this and you should really look into the amount of legends that have sung with him, not him with them, but the legends singing with him.
Yesss, you should definitely react to many of Zucchero’s songs❤️ I personally suggest “Diamante “ (a masterpiece!!), “un soffio caldo “, “oltre le rive”, “Miserere with Pavarotti “, “alla fine”… Diamante is my all times favourite ❤️ I ADORE your channel, I watch your videos everyday!
New friends, new songs, new playlists - what's not to like? For anyone out there, who gets to this point, please listen to BP1 and BP2 on this wonderful channel, Brit Pops React. They are helping us discover more than just one artist or concept on this channel. Plus, go on your own expeditions into what other people say in the comments. The people here do give good recommendations.
So, I'm off on another Brit Pops React adventure. Thanks to everyone, who helped me on this journey. And, to anyone, who endured this narrative, I thank you, too. 🙂
@Debbie Lewis
Good Evening to you.
🙂🙂

Oh well, you and BP1 make it very easy to be enthusiastic about checking out all these new artists/songs.
It's very late in the UK, so I will close for now.
Due mostri sacri della musica
love Clapton too
@fran 2
You have great taste!!
Thanks for watching.
Great song. Very relaxing. Something you can listen to on a road trip or a nice day by the lake. 8.8/10 for this genre. Love it! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
@C4duke
Thanks for popping in, Clapton just plugging in a guitar sounds great to me!!
Hope you had a great day!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks for Reaction ! ^_^
There are also duets with Sting.
@Nobody
You are most welcome and Eric Clapton is one of my very favourite artists and I was wondering how I could get him on the channel as I know all his songs too well to try and say I have not heard it, but this was a new one for me.
So we enjoyed it together.
Ciao for now
Zucchero is pronounced, “Zook - Keh - Row” … say it all at once and you get Zucchero. He was a student of BB King, here in the USA, just like Clapton. They are very good friends and Zucchero sings in Italian, French, English, and Spanish … he has a plethora of videos with other legends wanting to make videos, and songs, with him.
@Mark Dement
Hello to you and thank you for the pronunciation and all the information, it's much appreciated.
Thanks for watching
@@BritPopsReact ... no worries, I am actually of half Italian / Sicilian descent with British, as well. I am a European mutt, to be honest, but I do respect these people that bring so much joy and saying someone's name, correctly, does mean something in this world still. Glad I could assist with this and you should really look into the amount of legends that have sung with him, not him with them, but the legends singing with him.
Pavarotti/Bocelli and Bono all performed his Miserere.
A Great reaction would be to "Zucchero and 2cellos", Amazing performance
Yesss, you should definitely react to many of Zucchero’s songs❤️ I personally suggest “Diamante “ (a masterpiece!!), “un soffio caldo “, “oltre le rive”, “Miserere with Pavarotti “, “alla fine”… Diamante is my all times favourite ❤️ I ADORE your channel, I watch your videos everyday! Hugs from Italy 🇮🇹
In Italy,the most important blues artists are Zucchero (soul/blues) and Pino Daniele (blues).
Zucchero with miles davis !!! Please !!! DUNE MOSSE
actually the athmosphere of this performance remembered me of the first album of Style Council... so it was funny that you named Paul Weller. But consider that Zucchero sold way more records than Paul and all his projects. He's been a lot more mainstream while making aor quality music... ^^
@Donatella Borcicci Belloni
Thanks you for the comment, BP1 was nottrying to compare them, he just happened to think that Zucchero sounded very much like Mr.Weller and they actually do.
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it.
Ops... Zucchero Sugar has a very long career, full of beautiful songs... Very risky for you, a lot of requests are coming 😂 one of my favorite song is "Indaco dagli occhi del cielo" 💜
@Val
Yes, we probably will, if they are as great as this, we shall enjoy them too.
Thank you for the comment.
Italy got the top everywhere this year, football, athletics, olimpic games, music😂😂😂😂 but zucchero here in Sweden has always been a God
@David
Yes, Italy are having a good year this year to be fair.
Clapton has been a "God" much longer though! 😂😂
uno dei più grandi artisti e geni musicali capace di miscelare suoni e melodie incredibili,un grande ricercatore e perfezionista musicale Zucchero Fornaciari "Baila Morena" un'altro capolavoro musicale uscito dal suo cilindro
I'm italian, I don't like zucchero, but this song is a poem... perfect for a bluesman like EC.
Zucchero ➡️Sugar for you , is the most important blues man in Italy 🇮🇹💚❤💚
I suggest you to listen to:
Baila Morena
Bacco Perbacco
Funcky gallo 🐓
E more more more songs......
diamante è la sua migliore
If you want to listen to something more rock I recommend "Baila Morena". Is One of the best Song of Zucchero. Im sure that you'll appreciate It.
@Jerry Tube
Hello and thank you for your comment, we do appreciate it.
Sorry the reply is late, it's getting harder to keep up with the comments.
We will try and do more from Zucchero too.
You should react to Zucchero and B.B.King !!
🎸🤟
Jumping right on the pronunciation 😜 😄 😉, it's pronounced Zoo-ker-oh . Just having a laugh fellas 👍
ua-cam.com/video/5ubDtRR3yLY/v-deo.html
@rezner10
That's fine and I was sure we would make a mess of it, but you know us pretty well with pronunciations by now!!
Thanks for watching, it's always appreciated.👍
@rezner101
I have it on repeat and will be fluent in Italin when asking for sugar for my espresso!! 😄😄
I wonder what espresso is in Italian?
Slow Hand 😍😍
Excellent song guys, but please put some more sparkle in your reactions!
@Marco J. Sandrini
LOL, thanks for the feedback we have some "sparkle" on order from Amazon.
This was an old video perhaps you should check out some newer ones.
Cheers
Ok guys, I trust you, respect, subscribed! I promise I am going to check your videos.
Btw I appreciate your channel and your answer, keep it up!
@Marco J. Sandrini
Cheers.
Ciao for now!
the way you pronounce his name :-) ... try to say "tzooquero" ;-) (zucchero means sugar, in italian). I m a little bit surprised you don't seem to know him cause he was a pop-rock star all over Europe during 20 years
@BenoitXVIII
Hello and thank you for the pronunciation.
One of us knew him, especially from the Paul Young duet, I was just using the excuse to get Eric Clapton on too 😊
Thank you for your comment and for watching.
the translatiooonnnnnn
@64GIO
Sometimes, it's just nice to switch off and listen to the song, it sounded great and we don't always have the benefit of captions to enjoy a song this good.
Thanks for watching.
@@BritPopsReact yes, but for us Italians, Vasco has such an expressive power in his texts that it is impossible to ignore them. Thank you for getting close to our idol.
Listen to me check it out Zucchero's record Rispetto. 80's style very nice
@coatingthickness
Thank you for the comment, we may return to Zucchero soon.
Thanks for watching.
😍😍😍😍😍♥️🇮🇹🙂
Hello guys thanks for reacting to our Italian 90s bluesman 😊
Zucchero means Sugar in Italian and it's pronounced with accent on the u and ch as a k i.e. Zùkkero... he's the Italian artist with more collaboration with foreign artists really a great collection since back in the 80s he's also a generous artists also giving space to those on stage with him so they could shine their talent. Since you did this reaction many months ago in case you feel like doing another please allow me "Madre Dolcissima" performed during his concert at The Royal Albert Hall feat. Bryan May and stunning vocals. ua-cam.com/video/0ivbz47kTk0/v-deo.html
More Joe Cocker than Paul Weller...
Listen and react also to another italian rock band of the '80 called LITFIBA, the song is EL DIABLO
React to Zucchero ft Sting muoio per te thanks✊
Please the prounciation of zucchero is zuccero....in italian the ch is equivalent to K . Thanks.
call zucchero sugar. his nickmane
Pronounced 'Tzookero'
Is'tso difficult to illearn the italian pronunciation,
Zukkero? Someone invented Google translation.
@Gualtiero Malpezzi
Hello and that is a fair comment and here is my fair reply.
a) We only usually know what we are going to react to 5 minutes before we record it and have a small time to get the information.
b) If we got everything right you might not have left a comment.
c) If you want to talk pronunciations, I do believe "Måneskin" is pronounced tally incorrectly by the majority of Italians
Ciao for now!
Zukkero...
Dzookkero
Zucchero! Non Zuccirou!!! 👍
I think the greatest italian blues musician is Pino Daniele, not Zucchero
@Giovanna Maciocco
Hello and thank you for your comment.
I will check out Pino Daniele, to get a better understanding.
I cannot recall if we said the greatest Italian Blues Musician, I do recall that from wiki the following:
"He is credited as the "father of Italian blues", introducing blues to the big stage in Italy.[1] He is one of the few European blues artists who still enjoys great international success."
Thanks for watching
Thank you for your reply, but Pino Daniele was actually the first italian blues man, and he was also a great musician in general. Not very known abroad, but really clever. Unforgettable.
@Giovanna Maciocco
I will certainly go and find some as Blues is my thing.
Thanks for the reply.
@@BritPopsReact I would suggest you my favourite album by Pino, "Nero a metà ", which is a mix between blues and napoletan/italian music... Listen for example to "Puozze passa' nu guaio"... Maybe you appreciate the guitar there... Anyway, thank you for attention 🙂
Not understanding the lyrics, does not allow for any reaction or judgment.
Crap sound guys
Thanks Martin like and subscribe 😂
