This is so cool! I love the image of the throwing knives spreading those colors! It’s almost like showing the villain factions influence throughout the city. In my head I see green being Xanathar, purple being Bregan D’earthe, gold as the Cassalanter’s and red as Manshoon’s Zhentarim :333 So cool I showed this to my players, we started about two weeks ago ^^

I would say it's somewhat accurate to where the streets, city blocks and landmarks are, but the scale is a bit off in comparison to the official 2D map. Everything except the castle should be smaller - Waterdeep has actually even more buildings!
@@solemgameinsights I used the 2D map as a displacement texture to get a (very) rough 3D version, but I endet up covering almost all of it manually with a bunch of simple buildings in the end. I bet there are more clever ways of doing it - but hey, it worked :D
Any chance you could share the blender file for this? I've developed an addon for Foundry VTT (an online virtual tabletop) that can load 3d models and would love to use this for my campaign

Sorry, but I deleted the project files a while ago. It wasn't optimized for anything besides this video anyway. The geometry was a complete mess lol
