  • I’m visiting every state park in Florida, and Lake Talquin State Park is #118 on my list (of 175).
Lake Talquin State Park is not like other lake state parks in Florida. There is no boat ramp, instead a pretty fishing dock. There are high bluffs overlooking a reservoir lake. And there is a sweet 1.2 mile hike along steephead ravine drop-offs. The picnic and day use area are exceptionally beautiful. It’s worth a visit.

My vote is for baby pine cone. Although I grew up in Northern CA (SF Bay Area), our next door neighbors had magnolia trees in their front yard which dropped all sorts of crap in ours. We only had a push lawn mower (aka not powered) and the pre-flower pod thingies were a bitch to run into and didn't look anything like that.

I’d like to do all the state parks in South Carolina.
