The Man who says he can and cannot are both right is so true. This totally applies to professional athletes who get in a slump. They start keeping track of how many times in a row they didn't get a hit or missed a shot or a field goal attempt then it becomes a mental thing. It's very hard to break out of. If your phone being in the toilet and getting ruined in some way is something that can give you a crappy time... then you should have more reflection on why an inanimate object can affect your emotions. If it's your only source to contact people that truly matter to you, then fine I can see why. But if you have a computer or even a console that has access to the internet, you can still do everything you need to just takes a bit of patience. And if its not something you have as your only point of contact, then you're more likely to be feeling crappy because you realised in that moment you don't have that thing that blocks out the rest of the world and even yourself... So have a bit more time in reflection, as you're not asking the right questions... you're internalising external things which shouldn't matter. I know this through personal experience, also through being neglected and having been through various systems whether government and charity. This is also taught in philosophy and even psychology. There is plenty of evidence of this sort of thinking.

If it's your only source to contact people that truly matter to you, then fine I can see why. But if you have a computer or even a console that has access to the internet, you can still do everything you need to just takes a bit of patience.
And if its not something you have as your only point of contact, then you're more likely to be feeling crappy because you realised in that moment you don't have that thing that blocks out the rest of the world and even yourself... So have a bit more time in reflection, as you're not asking the right questions... you're internalising external things which shouldn't matter.
I know this through personal experience, also through being neglected and having been through various systems whether government and charity. This is also taught in philosophy and even psychology. There is plenty of evidence of this sort of thinking.
