The ref should always act like he screwed the wrestler for not counting to 3 then they could send another ref out and say the first ref got paid off kinda like the Dave Hefner day even though Dave had a twin but being paid off still saves the match every time
This is JR9's mini Round up for Heatwave matches not covered which saw Jacy/Jazmyn sabotaged on Kickoff.
Positives:
Oba & Wes delivered a strong opening match, good clash of styles did have a some sloppiness at times but overall Oba's best singles match to date. Showcased him well match was nothing spectacular but definitely more good than bad.
Now Wes can't challenge for the title so will be interesting were he goes would be for him reuniting with the razcals from TNA.
Axiom & Nathan Frazer vs Chase U was Fantastic, favourite tag match of the Year. Incredible chemistry from all 4 including a fantastic near fall after Frazer superkicked Axiom playing on the tension between the 2 as of late.
Finish saw Axiom hit Golden Ratio after a Superkick brainbuster combo with Frazer on Andre for the win. Just brilliant match which had great crowd interaction.
The crowd was really into the match & the connection Chase U has with them is so good to see. They are so damn entertaining & can go in the ring. So major props to them.
Axiom & Nathan Frazer are also phenomenal hope they don't actually split them up as they are a team you can build a division around. The match had me hooked from start to finish.
It was a reminder of how special tag wrestling can be, need HHH to realise this on the MR.
Negatives:
First off the build itself is getting a negative it's unacceptable to have barely any storylines built heading into a PLE especially in a big arena like Toronto wasn't good enough & the ratings showed that.
Plus it's unfair on the talents as they have to work twice as hard just to produce a good match when there's no story attached. The next PLE better have proper build as this cannot happen again.
Jacy & Jazmyn losing on the kickoff in just 8 minutes to Karmen & Arianna via rollup just to please the hometown Toronto crowd was unacceptable. Finish was Arianna cheating & pulling Jazmyn's hair who was rolling up Karmen which allowed Karmen to get into her own & win the match just awful.
Jacy & Jazmyn doing an overlooked story & losing on a Kickoff show is dreadful booking. They should be on a winning streak to prove that they deserve opportunities.
Once again HBK fails to book Jacy especially properly at least she wasn't pinned but it's her like 4th loss in a row since getting the mask even if she'w only been pinned in 1 out of 4. She desperately needs wins.
It's pathetic for someone who is fantastic & is needed to be booked strong for Giulia arrival, due to Jacy having way more experience than most of the division who may not be able to keep up with Giulia.
As far as Karmen & Arianna go like them both they had no business winning this just because they are from Toronto. It's just pandering to a crowd & sacrificing logical writing just like Alba & Isla winning at Clash. Plus Karmen is face & Arianna is heel so didn't make sense from the jump.
They made the decision even worse as later on main show Karmen vs Arianna was announced for Tuesday.
So HBK made Jacy & Jazmyn lose for literally no reason since he should've just done Arianna vs Karmen on this kickoff or have Jacy & Jazmyn actually win the match via miscommunication from Arianna & Karmen as suggested in last round up.
Absolute joke to make it for Tuesday after sabotaging Jacy & Jazmyn, fed up with their treatment.
Overall:
A significantly better PLE than expected that's why it's shame they simply built it poorly which turned fans away in the ratings as the matches delivered huge outside of kickoff.
The final grade couldn't be anything higher than a 8/10 for main card due to lack of build going in but Jacy's booking knocks the grade down to 7/10 as that was unacceptable.
Still way better than I thought it would be & was more enjoyable than MITB but could've been a pretty much perfect show with simple tweaks & actual logic during the build.
Now onto Tuesday for my birthday edition of NXT.

27:30 my issue with what you are saying BC is that Damien Priest is not an amatuer newbie whose new to wrestling and the business. Hes an experienced vet with YEARS of experience at the WWE(the highest level of wrestling). His entire championship reign so far as been super underwhelming with people making excuses like "he just needs more time to learn" "its too early for him" when that stuff is suposed to be figured out before he gets the belt. ESPECIALLY when there is people like LA Knight, Chad, Drew, Jey who have been in the WWE just as long as Damien and they dont need "time to improve" like Damien. They are ready right now, and just need an opportunity. But they wont give them one. I agree with you its too early for him but id even go a step further and say he just doesnt have it in him to be "that guy"
Was working this past weekend but I caught your Live Steam while I was driving.
I thought that the PPV was good except for the Damian Priest mess up and how Cody was pinned by Solo.
I enjoyed how Punk screws McIntyre out of the Title. That's going to be a good Feud going forward.

Those were the only 3 matches at NXT Heatwave I watched. I am a big Kelani fan. Sol Ruca is really good too. She’ll get a title soon but not before Jaida Parker. Kelani and Sol work out together and practice those moves. The look on Booker Ts face when Trick lost, priceless.😂😂
I've seen plenty of wrestlers have a soft-botch where they kick out on 3, and the ref has to delay the 3 count awkwardly. Which is only slightly annoying, but casual viewers wouldn't notice.
.... I don't understand why Damian didn't just kick out to make that a '2.999' even if he botched the timing. WWE claims Damian didn't suffer any injuries but why was he not even moving?!?? It's odd.

Heck I thought the storyline was gonna be the ref was working for CM Punk. Gunther will win at Summerslam that’s why Seth didn’t win. They rather Gunther beat Damian than Seth.

Jeys involved in the Bloodline story especially when Roman returns so him having MITB doesnt make much sense to me.
I think MITB was very predictable apart from the Priest thing lol!
BC I’m confused . Two years ago at wrestlemania Cody lost to Roman with the spear and somian spike.
Then this wrestlemania, Cody kicked out of the same move and now he can’t kick out of the spike at the MITB PLE. Please help me out with your analysis
Not a big fan of having midcard women's championships on the main roster when Triple H literally doesn't have a division for the women, I don't see how a midcard division could work with both United States and International Championships for the women.
When healthy Aew Marvel Fan respectfully there are more than enough women for a mid card title. Don't forget Asuka Charlotte and Becky are either injured or taking time off.
And some NXt women can be used also for those titles
