The SLK and RX-8 for £2K are serious cars for the money, but are more than likely to burn your wallet in repairs and servicing. The GTV is a good looking car, but check the floor pan. Best looking car for £2K? Maybe an Alfa GT, but again, check the floor pan!
Enjoyed this one. I am on my third 916 Twin Spark spider (my 7th Alfa) it is the phase 1 and I went for that purely because of the shocking electric roof on my phase 2. It doesn’t perform as well as my F Type obviously but with the roof down and the sun out it puts as a big smile on my face, plus of course it’s an Alfa, which you either get or you don’t and I just do as I think you do too?!
Great video, JB. 👍🏽Your picks are spot-on, especially the Audi TT. I got lucky with a silver 3.2 bought online from Copart. I kept it for a bit then sold it for a small profit; however, I still kick myself for selling it. I'm curious, though, why didn't you include the Mazda MX-5. Don't you have one? 🤔
I have an Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 and it is the coolest thing on the road (in my neighborhood anyway). As you said, not in the sub 2k price band, but I urge anyone who can afford it to go for 3.0 V6, it is a complete joy to drive and far more reliable than people may assume, oh, and in black with well spec'd alloys and a decent exhaust they look and sound amazing!
Best looking £2k car has to be an XK8/XKR, plus a few others from this list like the TT or those from pricier videos (e.g. RCZ). There are more rogue choices out there too, like the Laguna Coupé which is actually pretty tasty, even if it's not a great car. I'm also assuming auction sites would be cheating, since there are a few nice things with low starting bids, but they won't go that cheap! Also saw a Morgan for a few hundred on a site exclusively dedicated to car sales...apparently they're fine with that being a real car or a pedal car though 😄
@@huzcer that’s not the reason though, it’s because Brits upgrade their cars more often. Young people in particular need to have the latest car, which they’ll get on finance.
RX-8 came in states of tune - 189hp like you mentioned and 228hp. I think they might have had different gearboxes too, the 228 defo had a 6speed cos my Dad had one when they were new and I was obsessed with it
Honda CR-Z absolutely unbelievable vehicle...Hybrid with a MANUAL 'SHIFTER'....and added to this the perfect Honda 6 Speed gearbox ever manufactured..BY ANY MANUFACTURER. Spares are readily available, inexpensive, easy to access....and you will be the proud owner of an outstanding Car, of which there are just 3,446 currently MOT running on the UK Roads. The ONE Vehicle highly recognised as the best design by none other than GIORGETTO GIUGIARO, Ferrari Chief Designer 1999.
You missed the Jaguar XK8. If you search hard enough a coupe can be bought for under 2k, and that is a real bargain. 50 mph grand tourer for Fiat Punto money.
Cool! I have the regular non XL. It's a hand me down car or I'd have an MX5, Z4 or the SLR. It's a 63 plate. I think we both have the MK2 version with Bluetooth.
saab 93 ttid 2008-2012 are great cars should be on the list
They are cool, I’ve never quite gotten on with the looks, but to each their own 🤙🏽
I have a black 2008 1.9TiD and imo looks modern compared to cars it's age

i wouldn't touch the rx8, too many issues with the engine.
@@Supraboyes had mine for over a year now it's been bulletproof 🤷♀️
@@Scythenn ever started it for 2 mins then turned her off. maybe you have that's been looked after.
@@Supraboyes never turn it off unless it's at operating temp, that's how you flood the engine 👍

The looks are pretty much the only reason I have a CR-Z GT as my second car. And yes, the door handle did break
Peugeot 306 cabriolet and 406 Coupe (both by Pininfarina), Alfa Romeo 159 or Brera or GT Coupe, Fiat Coupe or Barchetta (though harder to come by)
Love your videos bro any chance we can have time stamps on the videos. Thanks
Fiat coupe/saab 93 convertible
Jaguar xf is a good shout but it would be a high mileage one I have one that's a good example and it's running 307bhp after a map
I dont know why but Here in Germany the Car Prices are Like not even near the Prices of Cars you have shown
In the UK the cars depreciate a lot more than here in Europe,so they are rediculously cheap. The Z4 in Greece for example is about 8-10k€
Right hand drive so smaller market
@@britsquaddie78 left Hand ist bigger Market so IT must be cheaper then right Hand
there is no export market for UK cars since Brexit

the saloon model of the bmw 1 series is the best for 2k and under

You forgot the mg f or tf cheap as chips and as much fun as you can have with your clothes on 😅😅
Alfa GT, Mazda Rx8 and Saab 95 Convertable?
Best looking car in this price bracket is the Mercedes C Class Sport Coupe
Not a bad shout, I think the E46 is also worth an honourable mention
Could you do a video on mpv's,I have an altea XL on a 61 plate with 63,000 miles, paid £4500

*Mercedes SLR. Or maybe even a TT.
2008 Honda Accord Coupe

Mazda rx8 for £1k is insane…ly scary 😂
+ engine rebuild. LOL
Audi a3 coupe 3k
Buy an MX5…. Best smiles per miles ever.
If you've only got £2k., you probably can't afford to repair one of these older sports cars. Thats' why they are cheap.
Not as cheap as this video makes out.Hes talking about sheds.
The Toyota celicas are terrible cars with terrible reliability.. Bottom end bearing failure is very common on the 140bhp
earlier years yeah, later ones not so bad.
I've had 3 Toyota Celicas and each one was great i rate them as a cheap run a round.
Audi tt a great car for £2 k
Please do £50,000 as you haven’t done that in a while.
Plenty more to come 🫡
